I don't get the low reviews on Jade. It took forever to find a decent Chinese place in Warrenton. They are the only ones who do Kung Pao Chicken the way I like it and the way I've had it at every other Chinese place outside of Warrenton. Their lomein is solid too, the noodles taste fresh and aren't over fried. We tried the Thai one night, I don't recommend that, but everything else we've had has been good. They are incredibly nice and accommodating. Their prices are also good, which right now is a priority. read more

Worst Chinese food I've had in quite some time. Beef broccoli was reminiscent of when you try to make Chinese food at home and it's just not the same! Really like the General Tso chicken and their steamed dumplings are very gingery and are good. Lo Mein is decent too. Some of their brown sauce dishes are a bit watery though. This used to be my go to Chinese restaurant when I worked locally two years ago. I decided to drop in tonight for old times sake and I can say is "yuck, yuck, and more yuck". The food is not the same. We got orange chicken and kung pao chicken and the taste is weird on both- not fresh. The orange chicken was tough throughout- like it was overcooked. The food even smelled weird. It was not a pleasant carry out experience for almost $35 dollars. Last time patronizing them. There was no excuse for such a poorly executed meal. Shrimp rolls tasted like cardboard as is they were already cooked and refried to add warmth. Could have been leftovers from somebody else's plate. Triple Dragon over pan fried noodles was atrocious. Scraps of chicken and beef with a couple of shrimps thrown in but loads of bok choy for $18. The noodles were not thin soft in the center and crispy around the edges like nicely done pan fried should be. The noodles were a block of thick ramen noodles fried literally to brick hardness! The cook is either incompetent or just does not care what he sends out. The place has a grimy dirty feel with worn faded spotted rugs and old green painted walls like an opium den in an old 1960s movie! Absolutely love this place. Food is always fresh and warm. They have very good dumplings and sweet and sour pork. I'd also recommend the beef with mixed vegetables. The atmosphere is definitely quiet and dim light but the workers and cooks are extremely friendly. Fairly cheap prices but good for the quality that the food is. We have lived in the area 15+ years and for some reason have never eaten at China Jade until recently and now we're hooked! It's quiet, fairly dark and dull inside and the service is quite slow. BUT the food is CONSISTENTLY VERY fresh and delicious. The Royal Family aka 'Happy Family' is perfect, every time...crisp vegetables, very tender chicken, pork and beef, shrimp were cooked to perfection, usually overcooked at most other restaurants. The sauce is deliciously balanced with sweet, savory and salty. Customize it to hot and spicy it goes from great to magnificent. Their Kung Pao is equally as good, just ask for it extra spicy as the regular order is very mild. My wife gets the Sesame Chicken which I normally think is sickening sweet and the meat is always dry in other restaurants. China Jade's Sesame chicken is the best my wife and I have had. Not overly breaded or sauced and the chicken is always moist and tender. The egg rolls and crab rangoons are also good, not the best but better than 9/10 Chinese restaurants. As I mentioned in the beginning the service is slow, but EXTREMELY friendly and they remember you when you return for the next visit. It's an older gentleman and lady who graciously wait on you every time. The best Chinese food in Warrenton. The lunch buffet is good but dinner and delivery/takeout is better. My family has been coming here for many years, some of our favorites are: Apps: Wonton soup and Hot & Sour soup, Egg Rolls (big & delicious), Crab Rangoon, Dinner: Fuzhou Warm Rice Noodles, Drunken rice noodles, Combination Lo Mein, Jade shrimp or scallops, Sweet & sour chicken, String beans Szechuan style Drink: I usually don't drink mai tai's (and the one they make taste a little different than normal), but it's yummy and you only need one! But two is more fun. = ) Tip: On busier nights we pickup takeout instead of doing delivery because sometimes they only have one delivery driver. Never had a bad experience with either one though. I'm not sure what has happened to this place, but the service and food is horrible. My husband ordered take out. As he was paying cash and getting the change the person did not hand him his change, but literally dropped it in his hand mid air to avoid touching him. Then when the food was ready she literally walked in a different direction to place the food on a counter verses handing him the bag and he was right there. It wasn't like he was across the room. To top it off, one item was missing from the order, AND the large shrimp fried rice was undercooked and burnt at the same time. Meaning the shrimp was not cooked and the rice was burned. Order accuracy was so-so, but they've have that issue in person and ordering to go by phone. The service is excellent but the food is not. I had the chicken with vegetables which did not have much taste except for all the soy sauce it was floating in. I believe there are much better dishes to order than what I had. Others at our table had egg rolls which they said were very good. Others had lemon chicken which they liked but there were no vegetables with the chicken. Our table was served dishes of white rice and fried rice. The fried rice was good but nothing exceptional. I recently found this gem hidden away with barely any signage. I go in for lunch and have been ordering the same thing. General Tso Tofu with Fried Rice. I always get the dinner portion since for $8 (vs $6 lunch) you get much more food albeit no egg roll. The fried rice varies every day between what veggies are in there and how much soy sauce is used but it's always tasty. I can make 3 meals out of the dinner portion. Sometimes the servers are in the back getting refills for the buffet so when you first come in, you might have to wait. But they are very friendly with regulars and attentive to your needs. I have never eaten the buffet (being vegetarian and there are not many non-meat options) but it's there for lunch. Hot tea is free of charge and tasty. read more

NEVER AGAIN!! We generally stopped ever dining at or ordering from China Jade (the buffets have always been SO sad & tired looking) many years ago - once other - much better - Asian dining opportunities opened up. But after a LONG time I wondered what it was that stopped us from ordering takeout from their places (Manassas, Gainesville, Warranton, Culpeper, Winchester, etc.). After hubby brought home some spur-of-the-moment takeout a couple of days ago from the Warrenton spot, I now remember & will NEVER FORGET AGAIN!!! Talk about AWFUL!! I'd never imagined Chinese takeout could be this bad. How do these people stay in business? Husband ordered takeout from this Warrenton branch of the travesty that is China Jade. One order of "Crab Rangoon" ($4.25), one order of "Jade Seafood Combination" ($15.00, & described as containing JUMBO shrimp, scallops, 'sealegs', flounder fillet, stirfried with broccoli, snow peas, carrots, & mushrooms), & one order of "Crispy Honey Shrimp" ($11.95, & described as "lightly battered JUMBO shrimp coated with honey sauce and sesame seeds). The "Crab Rangoon" consisted of 6 little pieces of cream-cheese-filled fried batter. Crab? What crab? And the bizarre neon-orange dipping sauce didn't improve the experience. While I'd wanted good old plain "Shrimp in Lobster Sauce", China Jade is apparently too upscale to have that on their menu anymore - LOL!!!!!!!. Thus husband went for the next closest thing. The "Jade Seafood Combination", which consisted of a small handful of tiny shrimp, some sea scallops that had been sliced several times horizontally to make it look like there were more of them (a common restaurant trick), a goodly amount of surimi (aka "sealegs"/ fake crabmeat), & some tire-rubber consistency squid. No "flounder" in sight. On top of that, the "sauce" that they were in was TOTALLY lacking in ANY seasoning whatsoever. It was unbelievable. I'd say it was like hospital food, but hospital food has more seasoning. No garlic, no salt/pepper, no soy sauce, no NOTHING!!! Just what appeared to be cornstarch & water. It was almost disgusting. The "Crispy Honey Shrimp" consisted of six TINY little shrimp nuggets. Overcooked, chewy, & very sad sitting in their little container. For $11.95??? It was absolutely ridiculous. Yum! This place is so good! I have no idea what Bonnie C. is talking about, we loved this place. We didn't get much food though so I suppose we should go again. We ordered soup and a plate of lo mein and split it for an early dinner. It was fantastic. I would like to try the buffet though sometime. The food was delicious and the meat in the lo mein was cooked just right. You know sometimes when you go to a chinese place and the meat tastes rubbery and just seems like low quality meat? The lunch buffet doesn't have much selection, but the restaurant menu/takeout is what makes this my favorite chinese restaurant. I usually get the Singapore Style Noodles or Beef Fried Rice & I always get the Shanghai Egg Rolls (shrimp rolls). I swear I could eat 100 shanghai egg rolls if my stomach could fit them - they're always delicious. They also have green beans, beef & broccolli, & your basic chinese dishes. I've never had anything from there that I didn't like - ever. & I've been eating there since I was like 8 years old. We ordered and order arrived minus my food. I called and was told they would talk to driver and hung up on with not knowing if they'd call me back or what. Got call back and was argued with and made to feel like a liar and thief. They told me repeatedly to check bag, I listed everything, including the complimentary donuts (which I thanked them for) and said that's it. I was told I was wrong and to check again there was a third container. Nope. So he said fine and hung up on me again, at this point I have no Idea what is going on except for it is clear that if something is wrong with your order you are lying because they can do no wrong. After ten minutes, my family is done with their food and I haven't eaten, I call them back and tell them don't worry about it because we would take our business somewhere else from now on, I was told they were already on their way. This turned out to be a lie, it was another 20 minutes before they got there (it is a ten minute drive in bad traffic). Delivery man was rude, handed it to me and gave me a nasty look because again I was clearly a liar and thief- way to treat customers who just wanted what they paid for. It gets better. I open my container and it is not even the right order!!! At this point I'm sick of dealing with them but I'm mad for both the way I've been treated, I still don't have my order, I'm pregnant and just wanted my food (and what they gave me was something I would not have ordered because the bell peppers make me want to vomit currently). So I look it up to see what they gave me so when I call them I can let them know what I got vs what I ordered. Unfortunately I find on website (see picture provided) that what I thought I ordered (the Slippery Shrimp) and the item below it (Jade Seafood Combination) both have SAME DESCRIPTION. So they can't even keep their website in order let alone their delivery or attitude with customers. So first I didn't get my food, then I didn't get to eat with my family; I was made to feel like a liar on several phone calls (which each I was abruptly and rudely hung up on without knowing what was going on) and in person, but I never got what I ordered, or was led to believe by their incorrect descriptions on their web menu I ordered. I contacted them and have been ignored this far. I will not be going back here and honestly recommend Tops China (where we usually go but this was easier to order through Beyond Menu- will go for better quality food and service from here on out). If I could give negative stars, I would. We ordered food for delivery from their website, got a confirmation email about when our order would be delivered, and the credit card was charged. After an hour, it hadn't arrived. We called and were told that they didn't have a website that you could order food from, that it was just a menu to review. They absolutely denied having the ability to order online. So, we drove to the restaurant and showed them the confirmation email with the charge and their website that did, indeed, have the ability to order from. They even had a print out from behind the counter that they showed us of our order, and still denied knowing anything about being able to order from their own website. They were dismissive and abrupt....not friendly at all. We finally got food, but will never, ever deal with this place again. read more

Pro: The tofu asparagus dinner is addicting. I eat it once a week. Cons: Every time I order by phone, I can't understand any of the employees - which means I have to drive there and order in person. However, every time that I place an order, the restaurant takes at least a half hour to prepare the food.
