BEST CHINESE FOOD EVE!! Never disappointe, always soo good! Would recommend this place to everyone!

I was really disappointed with my visit to China House in Whitewater. The food was bland and tasted old, and my order took way longer than expected. The restaurant didn't feel very clean, and the staff didn't seem interested in helping customers. Overall, it was not a good experience and I wouldn't recommend it. read more

LOVE LOVE LOVE THE FOOD! Never fail to give big portions. Staff is very nice and quick !

We ordered beef and vegetables here last night and the food was super salty. The meat was light in color like it was pork. The veggies and broccoli wasn't cooked at all and the stems were inedible. The crab Rangoons were over fried and hard as a rock as were the egg rolls and a dark yellow in color. They tasted like old overused oil. I could only bear to eat 2 bites of them before throwing away. I'll never go back there. read more

I have been ordering from this restaurant for many years. It's always for the most part, good. Tonight I ordered the sweet and sour shrimp and boy, what a disappointment. There was so much batter on the shrimp that I had to pull off all the batter to find the tails that I was choking on. In doing that, I realized just how small the shrimp are! What a rip-off! They would barely pass for salad shrimp! They should re-name the entree as shrimp flavored deep fried batter. Picture below. I won't be ordering that again! read more

Remember the old time Chinese restaurants with complex dishes and exotic flavors? This restaurant is that good. Some cost measures like substituting stewed beef slices for filet in the appetizer platter, but excellence is maintained. Go here, you will smile, read more

Chef handles raw meat without gloves and doesn't wash hands in between touching anything. Only accepts cash. Super inconvenient. Found many pieces of half raw meat in my veggies lo mean. Please do better. read more

Had lunch today food was warn and tasty. Many chicken varieties also mushrooms and soups. 2 types of rice. Restaurant was clean.offered hot tea, soda, water. Would eat there again. read more

I live outside of town in the county, my wife and I aren't what you would call the "going out" type of folks. Going to this restaurant for take out is what we consider the high life. We have plenty of choices when it comes down to direct competition and without a shadow of a doubt China House of Whitewater is our Alinea of Chicago. It is the special place that we never feel like we are spending too much and always over tip for our meals. Its not the worlds best, but it is still fucking perfect everytime ;) read more

The following is a list of my favorites; however, how often I order them depends on the cook. I can tell when there is a change of cooks, as the taste and texture of foods change: Egg Drop Soup Happy Family Seafood Delight Shrimp Egg Foo Young Szechuan Shrimp Shrimp w/Lobster Sauce Roast Pork w/ Broccoli Mixed Chinese Vegetables Chicken w/ Garlic Sauce General Tso's Chicken Shrimp Chop Suey Shrimp Fried Rice Shrimp Egg Roll Spring Egg Roll Crab Rangoon Fried Scallops Boneless Barbecue Ribs I've eaten inside China House, which is casual dress and clean establishment, but I am prone to order takeout (15-20 minutes wait). read more

The absolute worst Chinese food I've ever paid for in my life! The beef fried rice tasted like a drunk college kid cooked it. Rice was yellow & wasn't fried at all...beef looked & tasted like gummy earthworms! Not one vegetable in it! The teriyaki beef was inedible. Crab Rangoon was mediocre and had a metallic taste to it. AND, They only take cash too(which wasn't posted anywhere). Will never be ordering from them again!! read more

Orange chicken is classic, they use real dried orange skin. This one taste bests with white rice plus hot and sour soup. I like the golden sesame chicken with fried rice too. read more

Always hot, fast enough (10-15mins usually but up to 20 when VERY busy), and friendly service. Haven't had something I didn't enjoy yet!

Basic Chines, so good but nothing that special. Have to pay cash though unfortunately read more

I've been coming here since I was very little with my family. The food is always delicious and I come here at least once every two months. I love to order over the phone because it's always done within the 15 minute mark they give. Amazing place! read more

Better than Golden Wok in my book. This is where my family has been getting our Chinese food for years, and while I wouldn't call it healthy, they definitely manage to hit you with less MSG and grease then you'd expect for rural southern Wisconsin. Don't forget the egg rolls! read more

Best wonton soup ever. Great service and fast. Highly recommend. Really good orange chicken and lo mein. Great proportions and great prices. Go here if you love Chinese :) read more

China House is a household favorite. We love and have sampled almost every dish on the menu. The staff is polite and the prices are very reasonable. We will continue to support this local business for years to come! read more

While they only accept cash, it is completely worth it for the amount of food you get. Delicious and always friendly, it's my go to for Chinese! ! read more

We ordered pan fried dumplings, but the skin is so thick and greasy. It's almost like steamed buns not dumplings. And due to the greasiness I got canker sore later at night. read more

We recently moved to the area and were looking for a new Chinese restaurant and ya'll we found it! The portions are huge, always enough for two meals. My husband likes his food super spicy and they make it to order. Friendly staff. Just be sure to bring cash as that's the only payment accepted. read more

Great Chinese food at amazing prices! Cash only though so be prepared. Chicken lo me in is our favorite. Very nice employees!

Couldn't eat there because they DON'T accept plastic! I know I know there is a percentage required of every purchase to take plastic but its not that much and it's 2012. Get with it! On a side note the food looked good... read more

The best Chinese restaurant in Whitewater. This place is far superior to the recently opened Beijing Buffet, you may not get the quantity you would at the buffet, but the quality isn't even comparable, China House takes the cake. They are generous with their portions when it comes to the General Tso's chicken and Sesame chicken. The fired rice is great and I'm always sure to get a order of the crab rangoon too, it's delicious. read more

I am a regular customer here since 2003. In my opinion, they have the best American Chinese food and it is very affordable. You can get a full meal for about $5. The owners are sweet especially the wife. She knows her customers and is very personable. read more

I have had many bad meals from this place, but have always given them another chance. But I will never eat there again. This time, had sweet and sour shrimp. The deep fried shrimp tasted like It had been fried earlier and had been sitting around for quite a while. It was barely warm, mostly batter that was tough and not crispy. The tiny shrimp that was inside was hard to chew. I also had vegetable lo mein. Every bite had bits of noodles that were hard and impossible to chew, as if it had been made earlier earlier and sat in a warming pot until the noodles on top had completely dried out. The noodles were greasy and tasted like they had been slightly warmed up in a dirty wok with rancid oil. The vegetables were almost non-existent and consisted of a few bits of baby corn and some old broccoli and a few bits of Julien carrots. Do yourself a favor and avoid this place. Make the 15 drive to Ft Atkinson where there are a couple of decent Chinese take out places. read more

China House is basically a fast food Chinese restaurant. The menu is fairly cheap and the lunch specials, from 11-3, are a great deal. You can get a lot of food plus a soda or soup for about $5 during lunch. The service isn't very friendly but their not terribly bad. They can be very hard to understand, because they're oriental. But all together great food for a great price. read more

It is a nice take out place. Good prices. They could redecorate and fix up the restrooms, etc.

Best Chinese food in town! Great service and great prices. I'll alway prefer this over the place across the street.

China House is pretty much synonymous with UW-Whitewater for me since we ordered it just about every time I visited my wife while she was in school. It is what it is- delicious, fast, American-Chinese that fills you up fast. The menu has all the classics you'd expect, the portions are generous, and you are given the option of white or fried rice at no extra charge. read more
