Me and my wife ordered food from China House in Asheboro, NC. It's a small owned place right beside Food Lion on N. Fayetteville St. I ordered a sesame chicken combo, and she ordered shrimp egg foo young and house chow mei fun. The sesame chicken was good, but the fried rice didn't have any flavor, and the egg roll was decent. My wife said her shrimp egg foo young was decent, and there really wasn't much shrimp. The house chow mei fun wasn't that good either. It tasted a little stale, and the noodles weren't cooked all through. Overall, it lacked flavor. My experience here wasn't aside from the food. I order from here once a week and the food is always ready for pick up within 15 or 20 minutes. It's packaged securely for the trip home and stays hot until I'm ready to eat. Hot and Sour soup and Mixed Vegetables with Garlic Sauce are my favorites, and General Tso's Chicken for special occasions. Shrimp Fried Rice is also a good choice. Chen runs a super efficient operation and the staff is always pleasant on the phone and courteous at pick up. I'm happy to have this restaurant in my local area. The prices are fine, the food quality and quantity is terrific. I don't get the negative reviews; all my experiences over several years now, have been good enough to keep me coming back as a regular. The food is good most of the time but occasionally the sesame chicken is dry. It is the best chinese food in the area. They have an extensive menu and the portion sizes are excellent. The delivery can take a while on weekends because they get busy. read more

Horrible management truly heartbreaking will not return and will tell others of what happened.. I walked in the receive my order but it was not ready so I stood by the drink machine waiting. A young lady who I believe is one of their delivery drivers was being ridiculed and truly bullied by Julie the owner . In front of me and fellow employees she broke down this young woman told her how she was not liked at that company by anyone, that she was always so sickly and needed to just keep herself at home away from everyone such hurtful things which IS discriminatory. This is not the first time I have been in there and heard julie being rude or mean to her employees theres a gal who has brown hair and it was in a braided ponytail I'm not sure what it was about but I heard alot of disrespectful words and the owner told this young lady to stay in the dining area and she would loose a dollar off her pay per hour !!but I have never once seen her or heard her do this to the male employees in her resteraunt. How is this treatment of employees even legal? I cannot personally believe this owner still has a business if this is how she treats all her employees it is a disgrace. read more

There were a lot of white onions in my vegetable fried rice, and it was pretty bland. There were a lot of cheap mushrooms in the Kung Po chicken. The cream cheese wontons were poorly done; the tips were way too crispy. There was some terrible pork in the hot and sour soup. Overall, the food was decent. The vegetables seemed fresh. When we order Chinese takeout we always get it from China House. It had always been our favorite. Tonight we ordered 3 combination dinners which with the coupon used to cost $19.99. The price went up to $21.99 and I wasn't phased, I understand that prices rise. I am furious that they are now trying to fool their customers. We ordered orange chicken, sesame chicken and beef with broccoli. Both chicken orders were tiny chunks of chicken the size of my pinky nail completely drenched in batter so that they appear to be normal pieces of fried chicken. Completely unacceptable. read more

My family and I have been frequent customers of China House for the past several years, until today that is. After working 12 hours I asked my daughter to go pick up dinner for me. When she arrived at the restaurant they refused to take my card because I wasn't there (even though this is a weekly routine for my daughter to pick up dinner with my card). My daughter gave them my phone number to call me for verification, but they refused to call me. My daughter told them that she would have to drive all the way back home to get cash, then they threatened her saying that if she didn't come back with cash, they would charge the food to the phone number used to call in the order.....is that even possible? Either way, we will not be returning. The food has gotten worse with each visit for the past few months so this was a bad review in the making already. The only thing nice about this place is their delivery man. Save yourself the disappointment and go down the street to a decent Chinese restaurant. read more
