China Garden is the best takeout Chinese in the Red Bank/Little Silver area for sure. Delivery is always fast, usually no more than 30 minutes which is greatly appreciated. I always get the chicken and broccoli combo which is enough for dinner and then lunch the next day. It comes with an egg roll, which is a little on the smaller side for Chinese but it's still pretty tasty. I've had the steamed pork dumplings which are very good and their soups and pork fried rice are also very good. This place is much better than any other Chinese delivery place I've tried in the area. read more

China Garden used to be our go-to for takeout. The new ownership has changed that. They don't seem to care. The last two orders have been horrific. Tonights order of roast pork egg foo came with half of it burnt to a crisp...inedible. The order before, the fried dumplings were undercooked and inedible and the rest of the meal tasted like they forgot to season anything. My husband's chicken chow mein tasted like it came straight out of a can. We will never go back. read more

It seems to get any attention at this place you need to order ahead. I stood online while there were two other customers in front of me. A father and son came in after me started circling what they wanted on the menu. Another customer walked in and was standing next to me. Once the customers in front of me were taken care of the woman ringing people up looked at the customer standing next to me to ring her up and paid me no attention. So I spoke up and asked if I could just place my order and I was told I needed to wait for the guy who was on the phone. Let's be honest. Chinese food is the original fast food in America. From Maine to California, the menus are the same, the food tastes the same, and the accents are the same (at least to my ears.) So why go for Chinese? My answer: Cleanliness, Convenience, and Comfort. I could also add "Laziness" as in I don't feel like cooking or cleaning up tonight. China Garden delivers on all three C's. The place is spotless, the food is ready on time whether you pick up or have it delivered, and when you must have a bowl of Won Ton or Hot & Sour soup to calm our frayed nerves, warm up your soul, or cure your cold, this is the place to go. I've been talking out from China Garden so long that I've watched the children of the couple who run this place grow from little munchkins running around the restaurant to college kids who help out from time to time. I think they have only taken one vacation since opening. Just one. So when Donald Trump rails about making America great again, and talks negatively about immigration, I often think of this couple, their children, what they must have left behind to come here, and how diligently they have worked all these years without complaint and without asking for favors. They are open 7 days a week 10-12 hours a day. Seriously. Do you know anyone who works that hard for that many years? Not me. I went here for over 30 years! My daughter went to nursery school with the old owners son. Food was consistently good! Now a younger person takes the orders and she messed up my last 2 orders, yelled at me that I ordered at rush hour and they were too busy to bring what they forgot (both times sauce for dumplings) until the next day! This time she lied- insisted she didn't forget yet it wasn't in the bag. Last time I said no sauces except yes to the wonton sauce. Egg roll was mushy. Anyway, she had the nerve to tell me not to call again because of her mistakes! I never will. Really not the restaurant the original owners ran! Decent Chinese food, I was surprised because some of the white meat chicken was good, (maybe 3 pieces) but most of the pieces were purely batter, did not have a pleasant taste at all, cheap way out, I expect some chicken in my sesame chicken lol, also asked for white rice got when I got home it was pork fried. read more

In my opinion, China Garden is one of the better Chinese takeout places in the tri-city area. While its definitely not NY Chinatown quality, I've never been dissapointed with my orders from here.
