Just picked up a hot & sour soup to go. Incredible. The soup is packed with good stuff: tofu, egg, mushrooms, cabbage, scallions, and bits and bobs. Not overly think and gloopy either. Just a nice hearty soup and very flavorful. read more

Never had a bad meal here! The owners are friendly and inviting and your food is prepared quickly and we'll. I had the best orange chicken here that I have ever had! Its mostly takeout with a very small seating area, but the restaurant is clean and well decorated. Good place to pick up takeout after shopping for groceries next door. read more

Fresh with decent portions! The only complaint -- they don't serve Hot Pots anymore even though it is on their dine in menu. They let me order and pay for one Spicy Beef Hot Pot for $17.99 then brought me out a plate of spicy beef that I normally wouldn't have ordered and definitely it what I was expecting. When I asked (because every place at every table in their restaurant is equipped with the Hot Pot burners), she said they don't offer it anymore. :( read more

It was ok. I stopped by before 1:00pm on a weekday. I was the only one there. The place seemed tidy enough and yet a little rough around the edges. I really wanted pork buns or a similar style dumpling but they said it would be 25 minutes or so. I didn't have that much time so i just ordered beef with garlic sauce from their lunch menu. The beef didn't look or taste like beef to me. It was very lightly colored. I'm guessing it was actually slices of pork. I spoke to my friend and the reason this place has 2 stars is because of the previous ownership involved. However, I'm from California and my friends brought me here for hot pot. I was so happy. The waitress knew that I was from out of town, and kept asking to see if I enjoyed the food, and I got to say, I did. The meat felt good, the vegetables were just right, and the complimentary side dishes were amazing. It doesn't seem like too many people know what hot pot is out in Indiana, but man, it's like the best meal to have on a cold winter day. JUST GOOGLE WHAT IT IS!!! Like seriously. My boyfriend and I ordered food from here for supper. His was fine but mine tasted awful. It tasted like it was rancid or had cleaning product in it. I had a couple bites and to make sure I wasn't crazy, my boyfriend tried it and he had to rush to the bathroom because he literally almost threw up because of it. We won't be going back. read more

I would give this place 3 stars for food and 1 star for service and ambience. On the positive side, they have both a Chinese menu and an American-Chinese menu (e.g., beef with broccoli). Both menus are written in English. My Szechuan fish strips arrived quickly and they were tasty and spicy. On the negative side, we ordered 2 entrées (Szechuan fish strips and Moo Shu Chicken) and one milk tea and our bill was almost $33. We ordered at the counter and the guy who took our order acted as if he were doing us a favor. He was like a parody of hostile wait staff you would see on Saturday Night Live. When they brought the food to our table, the woman refilled my husband's water and that was the extent of the service. The decor was okay but the TV was blasting some Chinese movie which made conversation difficult. This place would probably be okay for takeout or if you like watching Chinese movies. read more

All these "poor service" reviews are straight up racist, and just plain wrong. Mandatory Tip, holy god. Went in as a group of five for the hot pot, said the only table for six is not functional so we took the table for four. Shared a stove with a friend, taking the whole meal in reduced space. We refilled the drink (water) and the soup base ourselves and we took the menu ourselves and of course, returned it to order by ourselves. The service is really bad, let alone the food. I think it's the best Chinese food I've had and they have both Chinese and Chinese-American food. The decor is lacking, admittedly, but it makes more sense when you realize the sheer number of hours the owner (I think) is there with her kid. Contrary to the other posts, the staff is not rude but quite friendly although the curtness may come off as rude. I interpret it as a cultural difference and not as disdain or apathy. I have been there several times. The food there are not bad.American people may not afford Chinese food there, because it is a little spicy than other Chinese restaurant in Lafayette.
