The crab Rangoon was terribly chewy. General Tso chicken was ok, again nothing special. Garlic pork was actually pretty good but on the whole I don't eat pork so I limited myself to a bite. I also don't eat lamb but did try the Mongolian lamb and I thought it was soft and not super flavorful but other people at my table raved about it. I recently had the pleasure of FEASTING at En Lai, and I must say it was an extraordinary experience that exceeded all my expectations. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warm smiles and a welcoming atmosphere. The decor is elegant yet cozy, featuring tasteful Chinese artwork and soft lighting that creates a perfect ambiance for both casual meals and special occasions. The menu at En Lai is impressively extensive, offering a wide range of traditional Chinese dishes as well as some unique specialties. I started my meal with the Orange chicken, which was a delightful blend of flavors--perfectly balanced with just the right amount of heat and tanginess. The chicken was rich and hearty, setting the tone for the rest of the meal. For the main course, I decided to try the General Tso's Chicken and the Beef with Broccoli. The General Tso's Chicken was a standout dish--crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and coated in a deliciously tangy sauce that had just the right amount of spice. The Beef with Broccoli was equally impressive, with tender slices of beef cooked to perfection and fresh, crisp broccoli. The savory sauce that accompanied the dish was flavorful and complemented the ingredients beautifully. One of the highlights of my visit was the exceptional service. Despite the restaurant being quite busy, the staff was incredibly attentive and efficient. They made sure our drinks were always refilled and that we had everything we needed. The food arrived promptly and was served hot, which added to the overall dining experience. The staff's attention to detail and genuine hospitality made us feel truly welcome and well taken care of. What sets En Lai apart is the quality of the ingredients and the care that goes into each dish. Every bite was a testament to the freshness and authenticity of the cuisine. The portions were generous, and the prices were very reasonable, making it excellent value for money. It's clear that the chefs at En Lai take great pride in their craft, and it shows in every dish they prepare. To top off an already amazing meal, we decided to try the dessert selection. I opted for the Mango Pudding, which was a delightful end to the evening. The pudding was light, refreshing, and had the perfect balance of sweetness. It was a wonderful way to cleanse the palate and conclude a fantastic dining experience. The beverage menu at En Lai is also worth mentioning. They offer a variety of traditional Chinese teas, which are a perfect accompaniment to the meal. I tried the Jasmine tea, which was fragrant and soothing, adding an extra layer of enjoyment to the dining experience. For those who prefer something stronger, the restaurant also has a selection of wines and cocktails. The ambiance at En Lai is truly special. The soft lighting and elegant decor create a serene environment that makes you feel relaxed and at home. The seating is comfortable, and the tables are well-spaced, providing a sense of privacy that is often lacking in other restaurants. Whether you're dining with family, friends, or on a romantic date, En Lai provides the perfect setting. Another aspect that impressed me was the cleanliness of the restaurant. The dining area, restrooms, and even the kitchen (which I got a glimpse of) were spotless. It's clear that the management takes hygiene very seriously, which is always a reassuring sign when dining out. En Lai also offers a takeout and delivery service, which I have used on several occasions. The food always arrives hot and well-packaged, maintaining the same high quality as dining in. This is a great option for those days when you want to enjoy delicious Chinese food from the comfort of your home. The variety on the menu is another strong point. Whether you're a vegetarian, a meat lover, or someone who enjoys seafood, there's something for everyone. The vegetarian options are particularly noteworthy, with dishes like Mapo Tofu and Stir-Fried Vegetables that are both flavorful and satisfying. I also appreciate the attention to dietary preferences and allergies. The menu clearly indicates which dishes are gluten-free, vegan, or contain nuts, making it easy for diners with specific dietary needs to make informed choices. The staff is also knowledgeable and happy to answer any questions about the ingredients and preparation methods. During one of my visits, I had the opportunity to speak with the owner, who is clearly passionate about providing an authentic dining experience. He shared stories about his travels in China and the inspiration behind some of the dishes on the menu. It's this personal touch that makes En Lai stand out from other restaurants. The lunch specials at En Lai are a great deal. They offer a variety of combo meals that include an entrée, rice, and a side for a very reasonable price. It's a perfect option for a quick and delicious lunch break. read more
