Found this hole-in-the-wall restaurant that serves really good Chinese food. Don't expect customer service--there isn't any. You walk in, grab a takeout menu by the door, and head to the counter to place your order. They'll bring the food to your table. Meals are served in disposable containers, so when you're done, just toss everything in the trash. I ordered the crab rangoon and the house special egg foo young. The portions are huge--I saved half for dinner. Would recommend for a quick lunch or takeout option. read more

Recently ordered takeout got a chicken dish and fried dumplings. The chicken dish was mostly bland soft vegetables. The fried dumplings were very doughy, and that overwhelmed the taste. The restaurant itself is dirty. read more

Some people reviewing this restaurant don't seem to understand that En Lai is SWAMPED at all hours of the day, every single day that they are open, from open to close. They do their absolute best, i am sure of that. If you go in on a Friday night and expect your food right away, or expect someone to tend to you, think again. They are taking care of a million orders... seems like the poor ratings are just very self-centered. This is the only place where I can get a combo with large portions for under $11. Food is almost always consistent. The fact that they stay busy should let you know it is a local favorite, despite these few poor yelp reviews. Google has them rated much higher (4.2 stars) I will say kitchen B is not as good in my personal opinion, the quality is a little lacking at that location. I ordered for delivery through grub hub. My order was accurate and it was still hot. I ordered crab rangoon, chicken lo mein, general tso chicken, and beef and broccoli combination plate. Everything was good and the portions were plenty. I will be ordering from here again! read more

Returned as family was here for birth of our grandson. Food was delicious. Hot and Sour soup was VERY THICK. Not very hot either. Egg Roll was missing and was to be a part of the General Tao's Chicken Combo. I called and was told I may return to pick one up when I wish. Now or at next order. People had commented on conditions. Some of the dangling plexiglass has been removed and it looked greatly improved. The steam tables are pushed to the side and boxes of napkins and paper products are stacked on them. BEST HOT SOUR SOUP EVER! We are always happy with their entrees and egg rolls. Crab ragoons are not my favorite but their soups are the best. Great General Tso too. Lo Mein of any variety is always good and they will accommodate one's spicy preference. We now live 3 hours away. We try to stop and bring home a couple quarts of the hot sour soup. Some people have to go to Arni's, but we have to go here for the Hot Sour Soup! read more

I had my doubts based off of the reviews and the location, but my boyfriend and I cannot figure out why on earth the rateings are so low! First off we both ordered large, I got the Beef Lo Mein and he got Shrimp Fried Rice (to go) the packaging was pretty and it tasted fresh! Although it didn't have an overwhelming flavor and could've used some more spice, overall it was delicious and filling! Lots of leftovers! Another nice aspect is that they are open until 11:30 Fridays and Saturdays when a lot of restaurants and quick bite places close. Friendly service and you get so much food for cost! It was cheaper than panda express or even the Tepanyake Buffet by the mall, and I was more filled-up then either. I will never order form En Lai again. They screwed up my order, then refused to correct it. The manager tried to charge me again to get what I originally asked for. My workplace orders from En Lai every week- over $100 worth of food between 12 employees; I will be telling my coworkers about this poor experience and we will never order from them again. I stopped in to the En Lai for some take out. When I walked through the door I was grossed out by the decor and how extremely dirty the place was. If the lobby is filthy then I can only imagine how the kitchen is kept. This place is in desperate need of a remodel and an update. It is not an appealing place you would want to go. All the fixtures were covered in an inch dirt and had not been cleaned in what looks like years. The fans and lights above where people eat have a mountain of dust and dirt looking like it could fall into your food any moment. It was almost closing time or I would have just walked back out the door and went somewhere else. Well enough about the depressing and dirty lobby. The food itself was the traditional Chinese buffet and take out food. It was average at best. The portions are quite large and the price was good. It was nothing special by any means and I recommend going somewhere else. Its hard to go into detail about the food because the look of the place just dominated my experience and opinion. I've just recently discovered En Lai's, but admittedly, I now eat there at least once a week. They have two locations -- East on Creasy Lane and South off Teal Road near Jeff High School.
