I was in the area and decided to give them a try based on the reviews I was expecting at least decent food. We order a lot because we have a big family. I ordered beef with broccoli with pork fried rice 7/10 probably the best item we ordered. I asked for shrimp egg fu young but the gave me pork, the egg fu young could have been cooked longer to firm it up 5/10 House lo mien negative-10/10 it was not even edible, straight mushy and tasted funny almost like the noodles were sitting in funky water all day Chicken on a stick - 1/10 no flavor and dryer than the desert to the point where the chicken was splintering Chicken wings- 6/10 seasoned ok but small whole wings Crab Rangoon- 5/10 typical nothing amazing very chewy. Traveling in the area and wanted some Chinese food for Christmas eve. Yep reviews weren't bad but were old, but we decided to try them. We ordered Sweet and Sour shrimp, Crab Rangoon, chicken fingers, and special fried rice. The food was very good. Loved the rice especially. The restaurant is in a Plaza with plenty of parking. It had a seating area for dining in, although nothing fancy. We ordered and got our food quickly and took it to go. There is no bar here. I would order here again. read more

I've eaten here a couple of times. First time my wife ordered general tso chicken, egg foo yong and something else that honestly I cannot remember. she said the general TSO chicken was just tso tso. egg foo yong was very good. I've been back to get their sesame chicken which is my favorite, and it did not disappoint. The portions were large and the price reasonable for lunch. I would plan to pick up and eat out, otherwise this is your standard Chinese takeout in a strip mall but the food I have had has been better than most places like it. read more

The China Dragon has been a welcome addition in the Macclenny area for as long as I can remember with their mixture of Szechuan, Hunan, and Cantonese style dinners. Tonight I started with a small order of barbecued ribs.The sauce has just the right amount of sweetness as to not detract from the taste of the meat. They are also not as greasy as some that I have eaten. The only complaint is one that was overcooked to the point of charring. Next appetizer was the crab Rangoon. A recurring favorite of mine as you can actually taste the crab which goes well with the cream cheese filling in a golden crispy outer shell. Finally the entree was House Chop Suey a pleasant blend of crisp vegetables with three meats , beef, chicken, and shrimp. I personally would have liked more meat but still it was served in a tasty brown sauce that holds everything together. With expedient service this is the place to visit while in Macclenny! read more

well, in small town USA where there aren't a lot of places to eat China Dragon is a nice find! The hardest thing was getting the order placed over the phone. The lady obviously speaks very limited English. Minus our crab rangoon the remainder of our large order was right. The general tso's was tasty but not very spicy. I went here to eat today and I usually don't like Chinese food but this is an exception. Not a lot of people stay in and eat but the tables and stuff are kind of disgusting. I had to take off one star for the actual restaurant: the tables weren't cleaned well as, and the owner's kid kept coming by where I was sitting and repeatedly smacking the gumball machines. However, despite all this...and despite the somewhat backwoods patrons who came in a la flip flops and barely brushed hair...I have to say that the food was really, really good. I ordered the General Tso's chicken and there was very little breading. Not the case at most places where it's like they're playing a game of "hide the chicken." Flavorful sauce that wasn't the typical spiced up sweet and sour. I could actually taste a bit of what seemed like ginger. And the eggroll that came with my order was super crispy but not burned. No chewy skin to deal with at all. It was crisp all the way down to the filling. The hot and sour soup was also homemade and had a nice kick to it, though a little on the oily side. But the two things that really stood out were the chicken teriyaki on a stick and the crab rangoon. The crab rangoon was practically overflowing with cream cheese. Though I'm from a larger town with several Chinese restaurants, most of ours are sort of stingy when it comes to stuffing the wonton. Not here. And the chicken teriyaki was so flavorful and juicy. I brought the remainder to work in a bento and shared some with my coworkers who loved it as well. It's too far away to be a regular stop, but the next time I'm on my way to Jacksonville, I'll definitely be returning here for some take-home meals. read more

I got some food from there, a little while ago, came home, made a plate, and started eating. All of a sudden there was something stuck on the back part of the left side of my tongue. I thought it was a tough piece of chicken. I couldn't get it to move, and I started gagging, coughing, almost threw-up, turned red, and strained the hell out of everything. It was looking bad. I managed to reach in and get the object out. It looks like a frickin piece of aluminum, most likely from one of their trays. I could have literally DIED tonight! I called to let them know and all I got was how the guy doesn't speak much English, and "what happened now", and how he can't tell the owner because she is on vacation! Seriously? I asked if anyone there could speak English a little better and he said no. I am ok with the not much English part, but I thought maybe at least one person would be able to understand what I was trying to tell them. He kept saying he didn't understand and what was the problem?? I was so angry I yelled and hung up the phone! Beware, because, if you decide to get food from there, this could happen to you, too! There's only 2 Chinese restaurants in Macclenny, so there's obviously not a lot to choose from. We take what we can get here! China Dragon is located in a strip center and only offers dine in or take out -- no delivery. Thank god I only work in Macclenny, because not having Chinese delivery should be illegal. They have a very small buffet that's offered for either dine in or take out. It probably has a total of maybe 12 items. I've had the buffet a couple of times and the food has been decent. The best is when they don't fill up the trays in hopes that you won't eat as much and leave. Really you can only wait so long on a lunch break. Smart on their part, booooo for when I'm hungry. Now when they do fill up or really I should say when they dump more food in the trays, they usually don't fill it up completely. You're lucky if they bring out as many eggrolls as people in your party or in the restaurant. I was craving some hot and sour soup yesterday, which is what brought me by. The girl at the counter wasn't too friendly, but honestly I just wanted my soup quickly so I could get back to work. No time for chit chat. Let me check in on yelp and get back to the grind. A pint of soup and noodles cost under 2 bucks. Yay for cheap lunches. I was probably there a good 10 minutes. I don't know what they were doing that took so long. Maybe they were heating the soup up in the wok?? No idea, but when the girl at the counter finally got my soup, she pretty much threw it down and walked away. Maybe somebody got her crab rangoons in a twist...who knows. My soup was actually really flavorful and yummy. I'm a hot and sour soup snob and I actually approve this! It was rich and dark in color, always a good sign. It had big hunks of tofu, mushrooms and my favorite bamboo shoots. What made it so different was that it had a strong flavor of sesame. I LOVE sesame. This added flavor really gave the soup a boost. Though it was a bit oilier then most hot and sour soups Ive had, it sure didn't stop me from finishing. The low quality food tastes old and even made me very sick yesterday. The Lo Mein I ordered was supposed to only have chicken and beef but when I got home I seen that there were shrimp in it. I am very allergic to shrimp. I took it back and asked them to fix it, they seemingly did but after eating the "fixed" order I immediately started to feel sick and had the typical allergic reactions I get from eating shrimp. They may have just pulled the shrimp out of my Lo mein and re-plated the same noodles!! WOW. After vomiting and extreme stomach discomfort I decided to never eat here again. We use China dragon maybe once a month. The food is a hit and miss situation it is according to which group is working. Most of the order takers are less than friendly need customer service training. Our favorite to order is shrimp Egg Pho yong with $2 extra shrimp no onions. Most of the time you might find 4 shrimp in each patty, and of course "extra onions" the gravy is greasy and watery, the patties are usually fried so hard they are crispy and burnt. If the manager is in he will tell you to bring it back he will redo it. But 2 trips from home waste more gas and time that replacing food does not cover. I would not recommend them for the quality of our food ordered taste and correctness of the order. Maybe if we ordered something else it would be better. No buffet now. read more

Always hot and good! I love the fried won-tons and sweet & sour chicken at this place. The portions are really large, so there's always leftovers for work the next day. Only two cons are the employees don't speak much english, so they can be hard to understand sometimes and you're always told "10 minutes" for your order no matter how much you order. It's NEVER ready in that time. Luckily, I can go next door to Cato's and kill time while I wait. We don't have many choices in the sticks, but I'd still eat here even if there was real competition for the place. read more
