Fried Rice, Egg Fu Young, Sweet & Sour, heck, all dishes are delicious and well prepared. This is a quintessential Chinese takeout, equal to those in big cities like NY and Chicago. If you are looking for real authentic NY style Chinese food - look no further! For us "northerners" who have settled in the southeast there is a long standing joke about how awful the Chinese food is down here - the bottom line, don't even waste your time. I love Chinese food and have been disappointed many many times by the offerings in and around Atlanta. HOWEVER China Cafe's delicious entrees have nearly moved me to tears ...tears of joy that I don't have to live off the memories of good Chinese food and my children can understand there is no substitute for Hunan/Szechuan style (especially not Hong Kong style which is so readily available in GA - YUCK) Right there in Gwinnett's Best Kept Secret is a little peace of heaven for chinese take-out lovers (and haters too - I double dog dare you to try it!). I have met so many people from the south that claim they don't like Chinese food and in my opinion it is because they have never had it ...they've been deprived. Several of my GA native friends have changed their minds after visiting China Cafe. The prices are very reasonable and they don't skimp on portions - not even on the shrimp dishes like other places. There is a flat price all-you-can-eat lunch buffet weekdays and they even allow the buffet as take out for the same price - whatever you can fit in the container is yours. The customer service is excellent and the workers are very friendly and understanding. Although they don't officially do delivery they've been kind enough to deliver food to my home when I wasn't able to drop in! This place is always busy and one of my coworkers always orders takeout here. Very clean and friendly staff. I wasn't too impressed with my house fried rice, I didn't know it would be yellow rice. Other than that, the egg roll was delicious. I will give it another try but stick with the noodles. read more

Absolutely disgusting! My job ordered this crap for our department meeting and everyone picked over their food trying to find something on their plate to eat. Yellow rice isn't fried rice. You pretty much boiled yellow rice and added boiled, unseasoned chicken and a sprinkle of Kroger mixed veggies. The mystery meat sweet n sour chicken needs to be reported. The spring roll was flaky. I don't want to talk about what I thought was veggies inside. Just typing this is causing my stomach to hurt even more. I order lunch from here sometimes and always love the food. I usually call ahead and the food is ready in about 10 minutes. Found this place by pure accident but glad I did. I know I'll never find NY Chinese food out here but I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. We ordered typical chicken wings pork fried rice, shrimp broccoli and spare ribs. The food was good! Definitely will visit again and mark them down as a good Chinese spot in my area. read more

Good food consistent Chinese food however the owners do not smile and seem to act like you are bothering them. In wintertime, you need to be prepared to have a coat on if you plan to eat inside as they do not believe in turning the heat on and it is freezing inside. I've been living down here in GA for 12 years and we've been going here because it tastes just like Chinese food from NY but the quality is declining. The chicken wings are smaller than party size. They used to give free drinks or egg rolls with meals over $40 but now that's not an option. Should Beef be chewy and rubbery? This was my FIRST and LAST time trying this restaurant...I'm new to the area and wanted Chinese food tonight. I checked the reviews of China Cafe and for the most part they were pretty good...I ordered 8 fried wings and specifically asked TWICE that they NOT BE FRIED HARD...I also ordered Beef and broccoli and surprisingly didn't have to wait very long... Maybe that should have been a sign because the wings were like ROCKS, the Beef was rubbery in a coral colored sauce and the yellow rice was undercooked...I did notify( called back after getting home) an employee there who apologized and asked that I stop back by to make it right... I wanted to try something different. I saw China Cafe in the Kroger Plaza and thought I would give it a whirl. The first thing I do in any restaurant is check the food inspector's score that is or should be posted in all restaurants. Their score was an 89 B. Not the A that I always shoot for, but not bad. I ordered the Pork Fu Yung and Crab Rangoon for an appetizer. The food was ready in a few minutes. I set my timer thinking I could walk over to Kroger to pick up a few things but I didn't have time. Love it, love it, love it. We are here every other Sunday. The food is always ridiculously fresh and crispy. I've gotten many items from the menu as takeout, and if paying less than $5 for super hot, enormous portions aren't your thing, this isn't the place for you. The General Tso's is always spot on, and I always order it extra spicy. Crab Rangoon appetizer is about average with other restaurants. nothing flashy or showy, just down and dirty great hunan-style chinese food. I went in to get food because I had been looking for some Chinese since I had just moved to the area. I ordered shrimp fried rice and honey chicken wings. The rice was yellow (wasn't expecting that) it wasn't bad just not what I had expected. This is our regular Chinese place. Everything is always hot and fresh. The spring rolls are the only thing I wouldn't recommend - they're tiny and weird. We order soups so often that I have a collection of quart-sized containers in my pantry. The hot and sour is our favorite! read more

I just moved to the Snellville area and based on the reviews for this place, I decided to give them a try. My Husband ordered Sesame chicken (we specified white meat) and I ordered Orange Chicken(again we specified white meat) we also ordered 2 veggie spring rolls. My Husband's sauce and my sauce were IDENTICAL in taste; aside from the fresh orange zest that was added to mine. Our fried rice was yellow rice...literally, yellow rice. I wasn't at all impressed. The 'white meat' chicken tasted like thigh meat...not sure if it was chicken, I'm just throwing it out there. Our vegetable spring rolls were tiny, cold and barely had any veggie filling in the middle. They had a 97 health score. The food was hot and fresh....I just honestly want to taste chicken breast when I order white meat. I've had much more authentic 'Chinese American' cuisine. The yellow rice was a deal breaker for me.
