We decided to try a different place due to the ratings of our go to had dropped ..sad face. More to come... back on track... so we tried Oriental Garden. First let me start the food was good but that's about it. The hot and sour soup was ok not spicy just normal not a lot of flavor and the bamboo shoots were tough. The egg foo yong was okay a little bland. The sesame chicken was crispy and tender probably the better of the dishes we ordered. The garlic chicken was a little chewy did not finish it. Their fried rice was as good as any other location. May have been an off night so I'm not going to be overly critical. It's more explainable by saying that if you broke up with your girlfriend and the rebound was not comparable. Again not bad... it's me not you... maybe we can be friends. I ordered via phone for take out. My House Lo Mein was fresh and delicious. Upon entering I noted that they only offered take out. I asked the owner and she teared up and said she couldn't get help. While I was there a family came in and wanted to eat in the restaurant. They asked if the could order to go but sit and eat. The owner said she couldn't do that because she can't take care of the customers and the orders. No one wants to work she said. They come to work, get trained and then just stop showing up. I was quoted 45-60 minutes for a delivery and am still waiting after more than 90. We have called twice within the half hour and they've told us the driver is on his way. If he has been driving around with my food for thirty minutes, I'm sure it will be terrible when it gets here. --- Edit: It took an hour and 45 minutes for our food to get here, but the business was responsible and allowed us to have the food and a refund. After being disappointed in the unsanitary panda ex we traveled a few hundred feet to this gem of a restaurant. We ordered the hot braised chicken and the Mongolian chicken. The owners were authentic and accepted the orders and served. The food was made fresh and packaged with flair that only a true Asian restaurants can. The flavor of each different entree was distinct and delicious. The chicken was fresh and not breaded. Sauces on each were delicate and not over powering. Delicious! Highly recommend! Nice little place, a regular sit-down restaurant. Looks like they do a brisk take-out business. We had the dinner for three with sizzling rice soup, teriyaki chicken, mongolian beef, and garlic chicken. The soup was wonderful, had plenty of shrimp, water chestnuts and snow peas. All of our entrees were tasty.I was really amazed at how much food we had left to take home, enough for three to have another meal. I really felt like I got my money's worth. Oriental Garden is the best Chinese I've had in the area. It was better 10 years ago but still good. Hot and Sour soup, Sesame Chicken, Mongolian beef, Crab Rangoon's, any fried rice are all good. They changed the General Tsos chicken so it's not as good as it used to be. It is not the same as the one in Monroe and 100% better than the Monroe Oriental Garden and Lin's Garden in Loganville. Their sesame chicken and general Tso's chicken tasted exactly the same. The best in the area was in Snellville but closed or moved. read more

I ordered hot n sour soup from this place. Only to bring to see that it has bits of meats in it. I called to ask the restaurant what kind of meats are in it, i was told that it has chicken and pork in it. I have eaten hot n sour soup at many other places but nevet had meats in it. If you dont eat pork this is not the soup you should order from this place. I bought the soup off of the menu and it did not list or say anything about meats. Me and my mom were shopping around and we really wanted some Chinese food. So of course we come here. It had a huge sign and two statues in the front. It looked pretty classy. As we walked in we were greeting politely and led to our booth. We sat down and a women came and asked us what we wanted to drink. The way she spoke made it seem like she wanted us to hurry up. I brushed it off. Maybe that's just how she spoke and it wasn't a big deal. We got our waters and waited probably 3 - 5 minutes to order our food. The same woman came back and me and my mom still got the feeling that we were being rushed. But whatever. We got the lunch special which is an entree, a soup, and an egg roll or wingS (yes there is a reason I'm emphasizing the S on wings). I ordered the beef lo mein, the egg drop soup, and the wingS. My mother ordered her food and instead of the wingS she ordered the egg roll. The wait wasn't long at all but low and behold, I was bewildered at my plate. I had a single chicken wing. A SINGLE chicken wing. ONE! The size of my finger! I ATLEAST expected maybe three at the least since I knew it was a small side, but one? I was pretty confused and my mom couldn't help but to laugh. I'm pretty lenient on what restaurants serve me, but this was kinda weird. I thought to myself, ATLEAST it will taste good... Nope. Nope. Nope. It had the texture of my dogs dried chicken jerky treats and had absolutely NO flavor in it! The rest of the food was mediocre. The noodles were alright and the beef could have been better. The egg roll that my mom ordered had no flavor at all. Yet, she enjoyed the meal in the fact that it was like cheapish takeout (but in a fancy restaurant setting). But for me, the single chicken wing just haunted me. Why just one? What does it mean? Why me? So in summary, go ahead and try it out. It's not the best but like my mom said, it's cheap food in a fancy restaurant setting. But please for the love of God, don't order the chicken wingS (or wing in this case) for your lunch special. I've worked in Chinese restaurants, and this is by far one that I will NOT be returning to. For the price of $40.00 for two people I could have fed a family of five at most other Chinese restaurants with a higher quality of food. The egg rolls taste like factory made then deep fried, rather then in restaurant made. The soup for two is actually a portion for a single person at 2 times the average price; let alone the 4 day old fried noodle chips served with the soup. The sizzling rice soup was served with steamed rice from the cooker. One of the main entrees had so much MSG in it, that one of us became severely ill for a 24 hour period with severe stomach cramps, feeling of burning up and a need to go to the bathroom; the flavoring was also very disappointing. The other entree was not as it was described, as this dish is based in a red garlic sauce not a watery brown broth with garlic powder. The plum sauce other wise know as sweet and sour sauce was typical of any Chinese restaurant, but lacked the sparkle it needed to trip my taste buds. The only redeeming quality of the meal was the house spicy mustard. Needless to state I and my party will not be back after spending such a large sum of money for sub-par quality in food served to us. The actual quality of the product this establishment serves does not match their marketing endeavors. After all what can you expect from an establishment that cannot even get the north direction correct on their to-go menus (North is in the south direction). The blatant I want your money as much as I can take from you, and give you food product that does not match the price, is an insult to consumers. read more
