For years, Grand China has been my go to for a good takeout meal. Last night definitely changed my mind. My family's visit prior was subpar; we thought it may have been an off night. Last night we decided to give it another go and I'm sure it will be our last. The sesame chicken was tough, rubbery, and the breading was soggy. The house fried rice was not cooked thoroughly, leaving a crunchy texture. The shrimp egg roll was soggy and felt like it was sitting out for a while. Finally, the whole chicken wings had a LOT of feathers and was very bland. I wish I could have left a better review. Maybe I've just outgrown quick takeout? read more

I am not often willing to put forth silly, negative reviews but I'm just relating my personal experience with the food only. For all I know, the staff could be the best people on Earth (highly unlikely but whatever). Now, I have noticed that Grand China is somewhat popular with the Loganville/Snellville residents due to the constant traffic. However, I'm trying to figure out if I missed something. I always order a very simple chicken dish w/ rice when I'm frequenting these types of establishments. Nothing different here. Unfortunately, the quality of the chicken was less than stellar. It looked and tasted like it had a thin sheet of plastic over it. I got it to go so I didn't give any feedback to the staff there. Just based on basic taste, it rivals nothing in the area (ie, China Cafe or Red Latern). I take pride in not being a food critic but an appreciater of doing the simple right. And this ain't it. I will consider retrying and updating this review but I'm going to need some time. Try it for yourself and you might think differently though, you never know! read more

Excellent food, fresh ingredients, good portions, great value! We are recent to the area and had been disappointed with most of the Chinese restaurants here we had tried. Grand China is now our favorite Chinese takeout restaurant here! The egg foo young is the best I've ever had. The wings are large and meaty. The fried rice is excellent. When you get a dish that includes a small rice, you can upgrade it to the fried rice of your choice for a small upcharge! I wish all Chinese restaurants did this! We usually order online, but tonight it completed the order without asking for payment. We were able to call the restaurant and pay ahead over the phone. The person who answered was friendly and polite! We were spoiled where we lived previously by an excellent Chinese restaurant. So far,Grand China comes very, very close to being just as good! I'm from Cali and the Chinese food out there is amazingly delicious so my standards are high lol I've been living in Ga now 6 years and I have yet to find a good local Chinese spot ! I ordered my food online which was easy , but once I got home and tasted my food zero flavor ! I ordered garlic shrimp , I literally had to pour into a pan and season it up , Chinese food should already be flavorful but this ugh so disappointing. The shrimp were big though but only had like 4 of them. I ordered garlic chicken for my husband that had a dirty earthy taste no other flavors or season and he got an immediate headache and now I have one too!!! I have read so many negative reviews about the service, and while our service has never been terrible, less than stellar service is something I'm accustomed to with many fast food Chinese restaurants. It's honestly something I kind of expect when ordering Chinese delivery. We have never actually been inside, we've only ordered delivery, and we probably do so 1-2 times a month. They are always very fast and short on the phone, and always show up to my door with a 2 liter of soda that we didn't order... I think they give them away free with your order. The food is your typical Chinese. It's nothing to write home about and it satisfies the craving. I've tried many, many things, and there are things that we now avoid, like the Moo Goo Gai Pan, which is very bland. I like the Seafood Delight and the House Lo Mein is good. Delivery service is typically extremely fast. We live on Rosebud and Temple Johnson and it's rare for the food to take longer than 20 minutes. read more

I ordered for takeout, my first experience with Grand China. I have tried several other Chinese restaurants in the area and have been totally underwhelmed until now. Grand China is the best by far! the order was ready for pickup in 15 minutes. The food was mind blowing awesome. Hot, delicious, and priced very reasonably. They did not skimp on servings. The vegetables were plentiful and cooked to perfection, the egg rolls were crispy and tasty. The vegetable-fried rice had plenty of vegetables and flavor. The chicken was marinated well, and there was just the right amount of spicy sauce. (I had the Hunan chicken). Grand China, thank you. Keep doing what you're doing. read more

It really saddens me to give this place three stars because they have satisfied my craving for Chinese Food many times in the past. Not to mention they have traditionally had really good food in the past; however, that was the past, and this is...well... obviously now. The last time that I ordered take out from these guys my egg rolls were really undercooked, and maybe a little, expired. Now I am in in no way, shape or form an "egg roll expiration date professional evaluator" or anything, but these egg-rolls had to have been done with their time on the edible earth. So, the expired egg-roll gave me the luxury of going back up to the place and explaining the situation to the manager, so that I could get another batch, or worst case scenario my money back. Not only did he not initially believe me, he initially told me, "You take it home, you bought it." After arguing my case for a couple of minutes he saw things my way, but I don't think I'll be ordering takeout from here for a while. read more

When we got home and opened the soup there was a metal staple in the soup. We called the restaurant to let them know what happened and the lady was very rude. My husband returned to the restaurant to exchange it and she blamed us for complaining and said that we probably placed the staple in the soup. We had no desire to leave our home and go back to this dump for a $3.00 container of soup! The health department should shut this place down. This used to be my go-to spot for Chinese food. That is until this weekend. This establishment needs a Customer Service makeover. Every family member in there needs to learn to read, write and speak English and needs to all be trained in the fact that it is the local community, comprised of ALL races, that is keeping them in business. I have read all the complaints online about this restaurant and the one that reoccurs the most: poor customer service. Based on the treatment I received, I finally understand why. Not only was I treated rudely by the cashier who was too rude to even change her attitude when I pointed out she was being rude, but also by the half-listening owner, when I explained the encounter and requested a full refund and apology, to which she (the owner) snarked, mumbled and finally blurted out, "sorry" with such bizarre contempt when I asked her to speak up because I could not understand her. When owners and a business don't respect their customers, it always has a way of revealing itself. It matters not how great the product or service is when the customer service is bad. In fact, I will actually pay for food that tastes inconsistently great if it comes with consistently great Customer Service. Because I know that business would most likely be open to customer feedback and would know how to manage customer concerns or complaints. Businesses that treat their customers with respect, know how to keep the same customers. Businesses, like Grand China, overbloated with their own arrogance and belief that they are too popular to fail.... well, the community will ultimately decide. As you continue to piss off and frive away existing customers with your arrogance, rudeness and contempt, you'll continue to attract new, unsuspecting ones and continue to be in an endless cycle of constantly treating customers poorly, thinking they're the problem. It'll only stop when you finally realize 80% of your business comes from 20% of your customers. Make that 19%. We have given a lot of money to this restaurant over the years. That stopped this weekend. If you cannot value and respect your customers, whether you're busy or slow, then you and your business do not deserve the value and respect of the money I, too, work hard for every day. Oh, and I say this even if I had only witnessed the treatment I received. As a community, it is important for us to remember our voice works when we all take a stand and stop financially rewarding businesses that do not demonstrate good ethics, behavior and respect to all of us all the time. read more

I have read some of the post concerning customer service. I recently had to place an online order because the person on the phone was very rude. once i picked up my order - i politely asked who was taking phone orders... in an instant, i got a nasty look. I maintained my professional disposition - and said that the person answering the phone was very rude to my wife, and i think as patrons of your establishment, there is no need for the nasty customer service. I immediately got the nastiest apology from the woman who seems to always be at the front counter. She looked at me and started shouting to the back in her native tongue. Just moved to Loganville Ga from Florida and at first I was a bit skeptical about finding a good Chinese place around here, until I decided to try Grand China...... So glad I stop here the food was amazing everything I order was outstanding from the wonton soup, egg drop soup the eggs rolls, the fried rice the portions are big. The first time I ate here, I got the shrimp fried rice (small) and an eggroll. It was pretty good and you could tell by the consistent people lined up in and out. The second I went, I did a door dash pick up for myself. I noticed the time kept going further back and back. Well, I arrived within the estimated time the app said it would be complete. After sitting for another 10 minutes or so, I went to the counter to ask the staff member if my order was ready.....she's "oh, here it is". It had been sitting there that long and she never changed the app on her end for ready. Outside of no empathy (seems I'm getting a lot of that lately), their food is pretty good. Grand china has the worst customer survice once the lady told me to shut my mouth and hung up the phone on me I called back she lied and told the manager that I did that another time I had to cancel my order because I thought I had enough cash but didn't call back a couple days later they told me they stop delivering at my address because of that reason. I had an issue with my order and sent the food back and asked them to correct it... that was in 2011 I've since moved out of state and I was visiting the area again and wanted some Chinese food .. I call from my phone (had the same number as the incident where my food was wrong ) and they told me that they couldn't provide service to me because of this incident in 2011 when THEY messed up my order. I'm usually not a fan of Chinese food! It tends to be to oily for me but this is the 2nd time I've ordered from them this year and no other Chinese delivery place can compare to this place ! We usually get the shrimp lo mien ! They didn't cheat us with the shrimp and vegetables were fresh! It didn't have that soggy texture! They gave us plenty of noodles that my kids enjoy the most ! We also ordered the sweet and sour shrimp ! It comes with rice and the sweet sauce to pour over! The shrimp are a fair price for the size and quality! We also got the sweet and sour soup ! FOUND A FINGERNAIL IN MY FOOD. i was eating a spring roll and i started chewing on something really hard so i pulled it out from my teeth and it was a yellow fingernail and you could see the ridges showing that it's been broken off. never eating from here or probably anywhere else again. i'm highly disappointed, because this was my go to restaurant. The Egg Foo Young was very greasy, bland and the overall appearance was disgusting. I will never return to this establishment ever again. The food is horrible. It is always a treat to eat Grand China's food. From their fried rice to their lemon pepper wings (which are better wings than most dedicated wing places around) Grand China always produces food above and beyond what you expect from a take out restaurant. They will always deliver your food sooner than the time they quote you on the phone no matter how busy they are. The food always arrives hot and I've only had a problem with an order once in all the years I've been ordering from them. That one problem was a forgotten soda, which they apologized for and gave me a free one in addition to the one I paid for to make up for it. They make better fried rice than other places. It isn't just the carrot and pea rice you have grown to expect from chinese take out places. They make lemon pepper wings that put dedicated wing restaurants to shame. The beef fried rice and lemon pepper wings are my favorites, but all their food is great. Their portion sizes are nice and prices reasonable. If you have not tried Grand China you are missing out on the best chinese take out in Gwinnett. read more
