This place is terrible. This is a buffet style restaurant. The staff brings your drinks and clears the tables pretty quickly. That is the only positive. They used to have enough items to allow you to make a salad, not all they have is lettuce and little else. All there appetizer offerings are bad. The chicken wings are tough and over done. The mozarella sticks taste like they are microwaved. The entrees aren't any better. The General Tsos chicken half the pieces are terribly over cooked and too hard to eat. They are inedible. The rice is often over cooked as well. The pepper steak is OK and maybe the best option which isn't saying much. Ate at this place twice in the last 2 months and it was terrible both times. They have plenty of variety. The food is very fresh especially the seafood which is something that I'm always cautious of. They have a Mongolian grill if making your own stirfry is your thing. The sushi did not have too much of a selection however what they did have was tasty. The fruit and dessert bar was also very good. Pricing is not bad at all. Fair food. Ate here during the pandemic they had gloves to but I'm so that you don't have to touch the handles of the food directly. Oh, goodness. If you want to talk about a restaurant that has gone downhill in the last few years, this China Buffet is the damn poster child. I don't understand, but it just seems like the owners have given a negative amount of effort to this joint. The place is dirty, dingy, the carpets are gross, the booths come UP off of the floor, and the fabric used in the booths are just ripping at the seams. I also really dislike how the service station is smack dab in the middle of restaurant. I almost feel like the waiters stare at you while you're eating. Silently judging you. Would I go there again? Very good food and friendly service. They are complying with the COVID-19 rules and providing plastic utensils and still letting you choose anything you want from the buffet, but they serve it for you. You simply walk to the buffet, as you would normally do, and let them know what you want. Not an inconvenience at all. They are taking precautions for your safety. I seriously love this place, I've been coming here for years now. I usually come around lunch time, it's definitely a treat I don't get very often but when I know I have the time I'll make the trip since I live in Woodbridge now. I love their crab Rangoon/cheese wontons, ranch chicken, coconut chicken & crab salad the best. The service is always very friendly & on top of water when your glass is almost empty. This China Buffet is smaller than the other ones I have been to, but it was not bad at all. There was a good selection of foods. The decor was typical of most China Buffet. The service was quick and friendly. The desserts(in which there was a massive selection for the size of the place) was excellent. Only issue that I had(and which stopped me from giving it 5 stars) was that the trays were never really filled. When one was empty, they replaced the tray with it only a third full. I am assuming it was because the place was not packed at the time that we eat. Definitely a place to stop in and eat at if you are in the area. read more

Sorry Amanda, but I beg to differ. I actually helped some friends professionally clean the rugs one night at this place. We had access to the back kitchen cause the van was parked in the back, and let me tell you that they DO NOT "freshly" prepare all their food. YUCK! I will never eat in that place again... Most things were bad tasting some things I even spit out. Buttered clams were ok not great, Hot & Sour soup was mediocre, biscuit like donuts were ok. Crawfish were nasty possibly were laying around awhile before they were cooked. Stuffed Clams & Shrimp were awful. Chocolate Ice Cream dispenser was broken. Did not try the crab legs they were skinny & not many laying in water. Most sushi was fake crab which I will not eat even though I love sushi. A lot of things looked uneditable. General Tsos was the worst I've had. Service was good nice staff. Place looked dated like old buffets from 20 years ago. Only came here because my friends wanted to try because we were in the area. If I had a choice I wouldn't even rate this place one star. My family and myself went there this past Saturday. My daughter wouldn't eat anything except for half a slice of watermelon. When it came time to leave we asked our server (girl who cleans the tables) for a container to take her watermelon home. She then told us that I had to pay for a whole other 3 year old meal for a box when all we wanted was to take home what was on her plate. We asked the manager about this and he claims that he saw my daughter eat the other food she had which never happened because he was never near our table. So I paid $4 for a child size soda and a half of a slice of a watermelon so safe to say we will never be back. Besides the fact that the food has gone to hell anyway. I have been to quite a few Chinese buffet restaurants over the years, and this one puts them all to shame! Excellent food and great variety. Everything was so fresh tasting and just delicious. I totally cleaned my plate and wanted to go back for more but was too full. I only got to try about 25% of what they have, so I need to go back and try some more. I enjoy the China Buffet. I am too far away and when I am in the area I will stop in for lunch, usually by myself. I always get the same thing. Fried rice, white rice, chicken with broccoli, sauteed string beans, friend dumplings and sweet and sour chicken. I go for lunch and it fills me up where as I (if anything) will not eat a big dinner. The food is not terrible by any means, but what they offer is simply not enough to warrant charging $15. Keep in mind some of the bigger buffets (such as Tepanyaki in East Brunswick) are four times the size and charge $15. Most of the food is deep-fried. It's basically glorified Chinese takeout. Some of it is good, but a lot seems to just sit there for a while. Nothing is ever hot. I repeat: it's all lukewarm. That's the one issue I have. No matter how much steam is coming off of the trays, it's never hot. I don't know what the problem is. Honestly, that is what knocks this down to a 2 star rating instead of 3. That and the sushi (if you can even call it that) is not even sushi. Just chicken and shrimp tempura and that fake crab crap. They would be better off not even bothering. As for dessert, the ice cream is fine but the baked goods seem like stale, day-old bakery castaways that they picked up at a discount. Like I said, it's edible. It's clean. Some of the food is tasty, but overall, it's not worth the money. I suppose if all you want to do is stuff your face for $15, then you can't go wrong. I pretty much only write reviews for chinese buffets, mainly because i frequent them most when i go out to eat. being a slightly strapped college kid. But anyway my girlfriend lives like a minute from this place and weve eaten here a few times. i gotta say in comparison to some of the service that ive had at other chinese buffets, these people really try to accomodate you. you feel welcome at this place, at least their really good at pretending you are, which is where it counts i guess. with the food theres nothing i can really complain about they have a great assortment of things, from your typical chinese like general tsao's, to sushi, and my personal favorite, crab legs. also they had a stir fry type bar, overall this place seemed very family friendly, for a great night with cheap food. four out of five because its great but not perfect. i have yet to find that perfect chinese buffet. read more

I've been going here ever since me and my family moved to America over 18 years ago . I love it and the staff are super friendly . Sometimes I'll go with my 5 month old son and while I'm getting my food , the staff will offer to help me so I'm not trying to juggle a plate of food in one hand and a baby in the other. I go weekly and i never had any problems so I don't see what people are talking about . Although I do prefer fresh cooked "gourmet" Chinese food, I will admit that once in a while I do stop at the china buffet. Some of the prior reviewers would have you believe that all of the food here is indelible, but that's just not true. The key to eating here is knowing what to eat and when. When you take your initial walk around the buffet, it's pretty easy to tell what has been freshly put out and what's been sitting there for a while. If you take what's fresh, you'll find that some of the dishes can actually be decent. Its not rocket science. If something that you really want isn't fresh, say something, and they will more than likely make you a small fresh portion. I know because they've done it for me. I usually go for dinner. I Enjoy the clams on the half shell, steamed snow crab legs, beef and chicken with broccoli, chicken wings, spare ribs and some of the veggie dishes. Again..only fresh. They also have the Mongolian BBQ where you pick your ingredients and they cook it right in front of you. If you went in for dinner and just ate snow crab legs, it would be worth the price you pay. read more

I ate here at 9pm on a saturday night. The place was surprisingly busy at this hour, maybe 10 tables. First thing I noticed when I walked in was the odor and how hot it was. The place smells awful and i doubt they even out the AC on. We were promptly seated and gave our drink order. Went up to the buffet and found most pans with little or no food left in them. Some cheaper items were replenished but the more expensive items weren't except for crab legs. When new food was brought out it was quickly devoured by the people standing around waiting for something. What i did eat was so-so.
