China Buffett is apparently under new ownership? And just to review General Tso chicken, quality has declined significantly over the previous year! We had two orders of General so Chicken. Vegetables were minimal! In two servings, they were too small, very small set of florettes of broccoli. No scallions, no bamboo(of course they never use bamboo because it's too expensive they always use carrots); the piece of chicken are larger; it seems the chick is now from old Stewart style chickens, and the chicken is therefore tough! This is my first time here, and it's probably the best tasting buffet near Canton. Not sure if they switched back to normal plates and silverware, or it always has been. I saw reviews about plastic. They have a pretty good selection of food, and a hibachi grill. The food was pretty hot. I'm here on a Friday night, and it's fairly busy. The staff is nice. Would like to see more beef dishes. china buffet is a family run business. the staff is very cordial and for the waitresses english is difficult for them. there is a nice selection however you must be aware that the early lunch hours may not have the freshest selection. some may be left over from the day before and not their best effort. the habachi grill may be the best choice in that instance. overall it is a good choice to dine for lunch or dinner. read more

Horrible and Rude Owner. Old, Cold and Undesirable buffet foods that sat for hours but you are still charged full-price. Very cheaply chinese people who accuse you of stealing if you patronizing then grab a few extra "complimentary" chopsticks for your family's platters. I could care less that they use plastic everything. My issue lately is that every time we go, there is just one waitress for the whole store. Good luck getting refills. Your average sub par buffet, the only thing that is decent is the hot and sour soup. fried foods are not cooked all the way through, soggy egg rolls, and different items laying in their own grease. Had business this way and was getting near dinner.Had window down and caught a whiff of tasty Asian like food. Conducted a turn around and there it were "China Buffet" Alliance version ,could still smell that garlic that had originally appealed to my hunger. Upon entry ,Noticed it was clean /well kept then was immediately approached & seated ,ordered beverage & on my way to select my 1st plate of what was to be 1/3. Very nice chicken selections ,had shrimp ,some beef- all were very warm ;and fresh .A severer was there rotating product the entire time we'd sat. One is impressed by the overall cleanliness of this establishment. It's a Chinese buffet, so one gets reasonably good food on the buffet if it's built for steam table serving, but as usual, stay away from the egg and spring rolls unless you just saw them refreshed. I know that when I go to a Chinese buffet that I'm getting quantity over quality, but for some reason I'm okay with that because I just really enjoy Chinese food. Although the name of the restaurant seems to be lacking in originality, at least you know exactly what you're getting. I was impressed with the overall selection of food, but the quality was definitely lacking. The different kinds of chicken I tried were average at best. I did not see anything particularly unique in the food selection. Service started out okay but ended poorly. My brother-in-law was standing at the buffet dishing food onto his plate when a server came out with a huge plate of watermelon. He was standing in the server's way so she set the corner of the watermelon on the buffet and slowly nudged the tray against my brother-in-law until he moved. She never said a word to him at all. We thought it was pretty funny but it was really rude and a little ridiculous that she couldn't just say excuse me. In terms of Chinese buffet's, China Buffet is average at best, slightly below average at worst. It's the typical buffet set up, with 4 or 5 stations of food with a 6th for Desserts. The food is good, not amazing but certainly not great. However it lacks several American Chinese Food staples (have yet to find dumplings there). What really holds China Buffet from a 3 star rating is the service. If you tend to drink more than a glass of anything during dinner your out of luck. Servers seem to have a 1 refill rule (Ofcourse it's more ice than drink), after that they Hit you with the check and at that point your considered done. I've been hit with the check there within twenty minutes of sitting down. It's a shame, it would definitely be a decent buffet if they had better wait staff. read more

Love this place,we load the kids up and heard them in. The staff are always very nice . Our kids think this is the coolest place and see who can find something like frog legs to gross someone out. Next thing you know they like them and it's frog legs for everyone. The food is always fresh and very good. You can really eat a lot if you want plus ice cream . We have never had a bad dinner. But the waitress didn't see a tip in the receipt or on the table and came and started cleaning it and was slamming cups on the table because she didn't see a tip and I didn't think she deserved one after she said that a table of six could've tipped. I've learned to visit this buffet either for an early lunch or early dinner. There are more fresh items on the buffet in advance of the anticipated demand at mealtimes. The meat in the entrees strikes me as rather strange ; sure it looks like chicken and it has a texture that is somewhat like that of poultry. Did you ever notice that the beef seems the same texture as the chicken but it is a darker color? Try to shred the beef. It really does not shred. Still, I eat there. Also I recommend tipping in cash to make sure the server gets it. read more

I love this place, my husband and I eat there quite often. Food is always tasty and fresh and the staff is really nice too. Pricing is good, I will say the variety of food is not too different between lunch and dinner. It's still very delicious but, you are paying more at dinner time for the same variety of food that is out at lunch time. I'm not implying it's the same food that was out earlier that day because I see them rotating the trays very often, I'm just saying there are no new items to choose from. I'm very surprised that this place is so loved. I've yet to have a single good experience here. The waiters are polite, and the decor is good, but that is pretty much all I can say that's good about the place. This place fits nearly all of the stereotypes about Chinese restaurants. The food is almost always stale, and some of it is clearly not what it claim, such as the time I found a meatball to be made almost entirely of flavorless bread, and the chicken doesn't taste like chicken... Even the desserts tend to seem old. They have sushi, but trying it is not advised, as it tastes and feels like you're biting a chunk of rubber out of a tire. After you are done overeating here (and you will, desperately searching for one good thing about this place), you'll quickly feel very sick, and not just from overeating. It feels like I just got done eating something prepared by Satan himself. Also, the music playing at all times in the restaurant is annoyingly repetitive. I'm going to keep going every now and then when I get the courage to, because I can't believe that so many people could love an establishment that's so bad. I wouldn't call myself a connoisseur of Chinese buffets, but I know a good buffet when I see one, and this isn't it. The food was for the most part mediocre at best and flat-out bad at worst. I'll be honest, there were a few diamonds in the rough; the wonton soup was delicious, actually. However, all of the other food seemed to be lacking. The chicken dishes were under-seasoned, the pork dishes were just gross, and both the fruit/vegetable and dessert stations were, in my opinion, severely lacking. I'll give the China Buffet this, though - the ambiance in there was wonderful. The music was lovely, the floors and tables were all clean, and even the layout of the tables and food stations were very nice. They also had a hibachi/sushi chef, but I didn't try anything from there, so I can't accurately judge that part of it. But, good ambience a good restaurant makes not. Even though it was nice in there, there was nothing that stood out food-wise as particularly good. You can try for yourself if you choose to do so, but I doubt I'll be coming back again. read more

Must Read. I took my family their last night for dinner before going to the movies. We arrived, was seated promptly. We went to the buffet and got our plates of food. We sat down to enjoy our food. While I was eating, I had some food drop off of my fork. I look down to get another bite and saw something black in my rice. While I looked a little closer. THERE WAS A COCKROACH IN MY RICE. Yes, I said Cockroach. I had my fiance go get the manager of the restaurant. She looked and said yes, it is a roach. Food free for all. I thought really, at this point I was about to get sick.
