I am disappointed with Bart Fireside's handling of this situation and their lack of accountability.

My husband installed it and after he finished, we noticed it was the wrong color. The company came back over and took it out and boxed it up. They did a reorder for us. When Kevin arrived on time he explained what he was going to do and put down drop cloths and brought in his equipment. The cleaning was done from the fireplace to the top of the chimney. I do not use my wood-burning fireplace on a regular basis, but it had been seven years since it had been cleaned and desperately needed attention. He even removed the wood I had loaded for my next fire and then proceeded to remove the damper for access to the flu. Within a half an hour everything was done and there was no dust whatsoever in the house. He then proceeded to go up on the roof and check the top of the chimney and found that I had some cracks in the crown of the chimney. He took photographs and explained what needed to be done. I am very pleased with his thoroughness and professionalism and would highly recommend him to anyone in the area.

Mike personally inspected the fireplace and made suggestions, including to the work already done by the first company. He is extremely knowledgeable about fire safety, best practices, and probably anything about fireplaces. He and his team left us with a beautifully finished product, including doors and handles to match the tile. Beautiful ending to a rough start. There are tape marks on the kitchen surface. They sent three people with bottle of Bar Keepers Friend to fix it. Didn't work, still have tape marks. What a mess they made of some beautiful and expensive quartzite stone.

We had our chimney cleaned first. They both worked quickly and efficiently. Left no mess behind. Didn't leave dirty fingerprints anywhere. Treated out home as their own. We have really enjoyed our insert. Please do your research on the code requirements for inserts. My husband researched this before hand. You may get a cheaper price somewhere else, but are you willing to risk the safety of your home to save a few dollars. Also, please keep in mind the people at clean sweep don't contract their work out. They are the people who work for the business itself. So they see this type of work daily. Also, last thing, Art went over to my father in laws house to look at a problem he was having. Because of the shabby work of another company, art wouldn't touch the fireplace. In fact, he only cleaned the pilot and thermopile but it continued to go out while he was here. He turned off the gas source to the pilot and was supposed to order a part for repairs. Of course when he did not fix the issue, I did not pay the invoice of $145. I called the office and informed them of the issue and was told manager/owner would call me back. Needless to say, that never happened. 1 year later I received another invoice stating that he completed the repairs all the while the gas remains off to my fireplace and he never replaced the part.
