I've been to Chimichingaso a few times now, and overall I've had a really good experience.
My favorite thing here by far is the beef chicharrones tacos. Unfortunately, they only sell them on the weekends, but they're worth coming back for. The beef chicharrones have great flavor and texture, and they're easily the thing I look forward to ordering the most.
I've also tried the street tacos with rice and chose the refried beans instead of the charro beans. The tacos were pretty good overall, although I do think the meat itself could use a little more seasoning. The refried beans were great and probably my favorite part of that plate besides the tacos. The rice, however, was a little underwhelming for me. It didn't have much flavor, and I've definitely had better rice elsewhere.
The queso birria tacos were another highlight. Those were great, and I really don't have any complaints about them. The tacos themselves were flavorful, and the consomé paired with them exactly the way it should.
They also have three different salsas: red, green, and orange. I've tried both the red and green, and they're both pretty good, but the green salsa is definitely my favorite. If you're someone who really likes spicy food, though, go for the orange salsa.
Since this is a food truck, I normally just get my food to go, so I can't really speak to any kind of dine-in experience. The service, though, has always been great. Everyone has been friendly, and I've had a positive experience each time I've gone.
Overall, I'd definitely come back, especially on the weekend for those beef chicharrones tacos. Those alone are probably my favorite thing on the menu. read more
