I was successful in getting a last minute reservation on a Sunday night and am very glad I did. I have no idea why Yelp classifies Chimera as Chinese! Good grief, nothing could be more inaccurate! Chimera is a tasting menu restaurant where the price varies depending on how many courses you order with 3 being the minimum and the stated maximum being 7. The serving sizes are a bit larger than the typical "small" plate. I ordered 3 courses and was satisfied. To each his own, but I would have to be starving to even think about 7! I had the corn soup with Creme fraiche, bacon and an herb I did not recognize (delicious), tuna tartare (just OK) and duck with pumpkin risotto ( the plate was sprinkled with roasted pumpkin seeds and the risotto was crowned with what I took to be a potato chip...actually a chip made of Parmesan cheese. The combination of tastes was fantastic!).
I liked everything about Chimera. The ambiance is very good, the service by the owner/wife team very welcoming, warm and knowledgeable and the food and wine suggestions excellent. Given the overall quality of the experience I found the prices to be quite reasonable. Definitely recommend. read more
