Where I live in South OC, most places charge at least $15 per hem, which really adds up. This place did it for $4.50, or $9 for the wide legs. Well worth the drive! I dropped off seven pairs and it was less than $40. The only thing I would have liked they gave me more clarity about was to let me know when I called that wide legs would be more. But I think that is pretty standard practice, so I wasn't too mad. This place is kind of hard to find because it is so small. My navigation was telling me that I had arrived and I wasn't seeing it until I saw the small sign next to the dentist office. It was unclear on whether or not we could park in the small lot between this place and the apartment buildings, so to play it safe if I parked across the street by the supermarket, which I really enjoyed visiting after. We don't have a lot of Mexican supermarkets in South OC where I live, so it was fun to pick up some things from there and made the drive out more worth it as well. Turnover time was great as well. I can't comment on more difficult or involved jobs because I didn't use them for that, but I highly recommend coming here for hems.

For those males who like to be business fashionable during work, my entire story is below. Hopefully it helps with making your decision whether to call Nana or not. I gave her a call on a Sunday and set an appointment for a pants hem and shirt altercation. I have body measurements that require very custom measurements. In order to be able to breathe during work, I need at least a 15.5 to 16 neck size shirt, but the sides, bottoms, and pretty much everything else is just a mess. The shirt in question was a brand name shirt I bought at the mall at a discount. The only thing that fit was the neck, everything else was just ugggh =( I have gone to other brick and mortar altercations before that would charge me up the woozah for all the changes needed for the shirt. With Nana, she did a quick assessment and immediately went to work. The entire process felt very friendly and one on one. My sides, sleeves, bottoms, everything pretty much needed to be done. On top of that, the style of the buttons on the sleeves made it one of the more advanced altercations needed. However, Nana's prices were fantastic given the attention to detail and service she provided. All the altercations to the shirt itself usually would have cost me over 50 by itself at other altercation locations. But Nana gave me a discount and with the hem altercations on the pants, the total still came to 40 total. She told me she needed a few days, but I told her my new work started in three days and she catered to my needs. I picked up within two days and the work was fantastic. I could not have asked for better. When I consider those 100% made to fit stores that charge at least 100 for a quality shirt, then I consider that I can just buy quality fabric shirts at my neck size and discounted and bring them to Nana.... I will def choose Nana every time. I plan on bringing a few more shirts over sometime within the next few weeks. TLDR: Nana is a joy to work with. Fantastic work. One place I went to quoted me $95, but they didn't sound confident that they could do a good job, so I went to Elena. The placement of the embroidery had to be carefully sewn onto the clothing, using an identical color of sewing thread. When I arrived at the shop, I was greeted by Leo at the front counter. After seeing the clothing, Leo took the time to position the embroidery on the clothing. He told me the clothing would be ready for pick-up the following day. When I picked-up the clothing a day later, I noticed the embroidery needed some very minor adjustments. So Leo asked me to wait at the shop for a few minutes so he could complete the proper adjustments to the embroidery. I had a one-of-a-kind jersey that I wanted turned into a dress because it was huge. I showed the man a video of exactly what I wanted him to do with this jersey and how to turn it into a dress. All he had to do was cut the sleeves off so up the side and then reattach the sleeve. When I came in to pick it up, the sleeves were not cut, they're two different sizes, the neckline wasn't cut to size and I looked like the background dancers in the goofy movie with the broad shoulders. There's so much bunching in the top since I have smaller breast and I pointed that out on Monday and he just kept repeating "I cut where I pin" anyone can do that. So since he was only going to cut what he pins, which was not our initial discussion, I took the time to explain. Show him the video again. I made it a point to make sure that he was going to be able to do this the way that I wanted before dropping it off because I would've spent more time looking for places that were capable of following instructions. Thankfully, I recorded our conversation and reported it to the Better Business Bureau. They just kept repeating the same sentence over and over again to the point where I started yelling over them and they started calling me crazy because I didn't want them to "fix anything" and I wanted a refund.
