Service was friendly and efficient, offering good recommendations. They were attentive, asking if we would like a break between courses. Our orders turned up promptly. The restaurant space is large and has managed to keep an intimate feel with the clever use of glass screens. We were able to enjoy a meal for two undisturbed by a family celebrating an 18th 20 ft away. The menu has everything you would expect of an Indian restaurant, and many new dishes we had not tried before. We took advantage of the Friday night meal deal, that covers 80% of the menu and was excellent value. This place is a gem, and we will definitely be going back.

Too "anything" Our table sampled dishes from sea bass with lime to keema and chicken to madras with keema rice and a Phall extra hot with a side of coriander chilli and ginger ... This extra plate of instant flavour was devoured by the curry lovers while the 'I prefer Chinese' people munched away at their potato and lamb or shashlik dishes without too much discomfort or dissatisfaction:-) So there you are ... Worth a visit .. Would go again .. But perhaps not for the 'curry addict ' as mentioned in menus of yore, more for 'the beginner' usually associated with the Korma in the good old menus of old ! Restaurant is a very fun and entertaining place with a lot of visual style and unique presentation. Staffing is very friendly and Team based. I am surprised the Restaurant has had no previous reviews. The main reason I have placed this review today, is that as from June 2011 the place is now called: SHALIMAR, with the same address and details. The place has been re-bornagainnow called PAVILION II There is adequate parking, a nice waiting area prior to taking your table and value for money (when it was The India Lounge) was very good. When I have tried the restaurant with its new owners, I will amend this review under the appropriate Shalimar heading.

The Shalimar is a lovely contemporary style restaurant. The menu choice is excellent and includes some different and unusual style dishes. The quality of food was superb and the service outstanding. I went here with my Wife and some friends and we all enjoyed it very much. We will definitely be going back and I highly recommend this restaurant
