The AC technician, Henry Alcocer, contacted me 30 minutes prior to the scheduled appointment, and arrived on time. Henry was professional, courteous and very knowledgeable of my AC unit. Henry was very respectful of my home, as soon as he arrived, he put on shoe booties, and immediately went to work. Henry answered all my questions, and gave me valuable advice. He informed me of ways to prolong the quality of my AC unit, and ways to keep the house comfortable and cool, without breaking the bank. Henry performed all preventive maintenance checks on the AC unit, and he did advise that I start considering a new unit, especially because of the extreme heat here in the desert, and the age of the AC unit. They ran into some problems as our house in Maricopa had not had a loop put it during construction and the water lines ran under the foundation...but they kept at it and were able to do the water softener along with all the other things. Don and Mike did a great job and worked really hard..Mo...the owner came out as he was familiar with Province and the older Engle Homes and knew exactly where to get the water lines to do this. I understand that the unit was older and that an eventual replacement may have been necessary. However, I would have expected a more thorough diagnosis during the initial service and some indication that the system was potentially on its last leg. When I called two weeks later to have the technician come back out, review the previous repair, and assess the situation, he said he was not available for three days. This was especially frustrating because my tenants were left without AC during extremely hot weather. I understand that HVAC issues can be unpredictable, but the lack of communication, follow-up, and availability when the system failed so soon after the repair was disappointing. Based on my experience, I would have expected better service and a more thorough assessment upfront.

Worst nightmare to have A/C break down on 110+ deg heat!…read more It was a Friday early morning and I was already making plans to stay with family since getting an HVAC guy to come out same day + on a Friday is near impossible. I Called Alternative Air after being referred by a coworker. Avnel picked up and I explained what my A/C was doing. He gave me the best and worst case scenario over the phone. Obviously, nothing was guaranteed until he diagnosed my A/C in person. He was able to squeeze me in same day for a check, explained the problem and quoted me a cost. Avnel was on the way to Phoenix to pick up other parts, luckily he diagnosed my A/C before heading into town and was able to make a stop by the Carrier parts distributor to pick up the part I needed. Not only did he pick up the part, he drove back late afternoon, climbed in my 600 deg attic and had my A/C blowing cold within 12 hours of my first call. The repairman Wayne checked the fridge and found the compressor had seized up. The cost for the part for the Kenmore model we had was over $1000 so Wayne suggested we not repairman it, but rather replace it. He did not charge us for the house call (about $90) which was very nice and refreshing. He gave us suggestions on which new fridges to buy and which to avoid. Thanks Wayne and Felix Appliance. We appreciate that they were willing to send someone out the same day, but the visit ultimately was a complete waste of everyone's time. The technician arrived around 9:30 p.m. without a flashlight, tools to check for a leak, or the basic equipment needed to properly diagnose the issue. After attempting to assess the situation, he called his supervisor, but ultimately we were not given any useful information at all. There was no clear diagnosis, no explanation of what was wrong, and not even a quote or estimate for any type of repair. We would have much preferred to simply be told that someone could come out the following day and have a properly equipped and knowledgeable technician sent to evaluate the problem. Sending someone out who is not prepared to diagnose the issue does not help the customer and only wastes everyone's time. Unfortunately, based on this experience, we will not be using this company again and cannot recommend their services.
