    Love Yelp Goodies!!!

Having sampled a free Paleta through Yelp I was waiting for a suitably warm day to go back & try another. The premises are slightly off the beaten track (for me at least) & if it hadn't been for Yelp I would probably never have discovered this place. The staff are always super friendly & I took the recommendation of a pistachio Paleta...simply creamy deliciousness. If I'd wished it could have been dipped in chocolate & coated in one of the many toppings. I will definitely be heading back to try the other flavours during the coming months. It's certainly a great place to go for a cool treat.

I've finally made it to ChillBro after my first taste at a Yelp event. Taste of blood muahahahaha... Well actually it was more the dulce the leche that I've tasted.and since that first bite I've had my eyes on the strawberry condensed milk. So not usually passing this area on my family grind, ice made an unnecessary detour here after a dentist visit ( oh, such sweet reward) Mel's tip helped navigated me here, so check it out if you get a bit lost like I did. It sits next to uncle Jung and across from ajisuke ramen. My favourite is the dulche de leche and I had tried the mandarin before both are amazeballll But I can't get past the strawberry with oozing condensed milk inside.. These are essentially ice block with sophisticated intense flavour. Ohmygohhd just go there.

I'm going to be visiting this place a lot over summer! Their icypoles are creative and yummy. My favourite would be the strawberry filled with condensed milk. Other flavours include dulce de leche and crunchy doughnut. The best thing about Chillbro is that you can choose to dip your icypoles in chocolate and toppings such as tim tams, sprinkles and nuts. The staff are also really friendly and bubbly. A great treat or dessert option in the CBD!

Chill Bro, take it easy and check this place out if you are in need of some deliciousness. It is easy to miss this place as it is not a large shop front and there are only 2 tables available but Chill Bro is one of my favourite places to get a pop and this weekend I also discovered they have....Churro bowls! Yes that's right, a crispy churro bowl with ice cream...Sunday's don't get much better than that. If churro bowls aren't for you, get a paleta and try it with toppings! You will not regret it and though the price is on the moderate side, your tummy and mind will leave happy.

Get ready for summer and put a paleta in your face! These frozen Mexican treats are delicious and offer a range of unique flavours like American eggnog, snikerone, and crunchy donut. Don't fear if you're a traditionalist, they also offer strawberry. The paletas are tasty on their own. But the cherry on top, if you will, is the awesome toppings bar. You chose your chocolate coating then select your toppings. Can't decide if you want your paleta covered in tim-tams, peanuts, coconut, oreos, honeycomb, wafers, or sprinkles? Get them all! Combos at the toppings bar are unlimited!! I repeat, unlimited!!! This is Mexican ice-cream heaven for a decision-phobe like me. Considering the insanity that resulted from the 'build your own magnum' event, Chilbro seems well suited to the Melbourne market.

This was a great little snack. We'd never heard of paletas before and liked that we could create our own candy covered ice cream on a stick. A tad pricey but it's nice to be able to customize - just wished the worker would have really squished all my crunchy bits into the chocolate dip I requested...

It is the not-super power that found me at Nitro Lab on a 16 degree and raining Melbourne day. There aren't that many flavours at Nitro Lab but they all look cool and are made in front of your eyes with Nitrogen from a giant tank. I don't know the scientific explanation, but ICE MADE IT GOOOOD. I can't go past Salted Caramel so that's what I got (with popcorn). My mum went for the waffle and coffee combo. The caramel was good. I tried the waffle. I have never been a fan and the chocolate sauce isn't great. But according to the girl behind the counter these are the best waffles in the city and she has been to lots of waffle places and started rattling off numerous waffle places I have never heard of as if to support her story. I think I'm more inclined to go to Messina for the flavours but this was nice for a change.

I also did not appreciate the sheer amount of choice of flavour available in store. 6 choices? It sent my anxiety into overdrive and I felt on the verge of a panic attack. Why not just one flavour: plain, coupled with a daily rotating flavour of the week. And also just out of curiosity, why don't you sell/do pizza? There's clearly a gap in the market there

I was thrilled when Frozen took over a section of what was once an unreasonably enormous pharmacy to bring the tart goodness of fro yo to South Yarra. It's a familiar formula: choose a small, medium or large cup. Fill it with your favorite flavors (natural, coconut and chocolate are my picks), then load on your toppings from the self serve bar and pay by weight. These aren't just any toppings though. They rotate... a lot... which is obviously a clever ploy to keep customers coming back for more. It works. I fall for it. Because they're interesting: halva (halawa), banana bread, green tea and red bean mochi, passionfruit pearls, super ripe and fresh mango, kiwi and more, PB cups, toasted nuts, muesli, shredded coconut... You can be as virtuous or indulgent as you like, moving from the right side of the bar (fruit, nuts etc) to the left (sex, er, chocolate). You can taste any flavor you want before paying. ... The best value can be gained by choosing the sundaes where you select 3 flavours and get warm chocolaty fudge with nuts and whipped cream. I can feel my thighs growing just thinking about it. An equally good idea is the Little Tacker version which replaces the cream and nuts with smarties in a slightly smaller cup. The flavours are diverse and often incorporate seasonal favourites such as Easter Egg and Christmas Pudding. There are also Aussie icons like Lamington. My long time favourite is the spotty dog. Gluten free options are also available as are birthday cakes, shakes and take home tins of gelato/sorbet. The store at this location is a bit hectic and the seating area is often in disarray, not great feng shui. My tip is to take your treat to the side of the Yarra and enjoy it there as you watch the world go by. Or even better yet take a stroll along the river and eat as you go, in an attempt to burn off some calories at the same time!

There's no actual sign up but just look for the hipster neon signs (either the red grocer or aqua gelati). We dropped in on a Thursday evening (around 9:15pm) and it was busy. There was a queue but it moves fairly quickly. The flavours are up on a sheet to the side; gelati, specials and sorbet. They also have smoothies and juices available. There were 16 flavours, all very traditional. - 2x mango & passionfruit ($5.00 AUD) - it's more mango than passionfruit. It won't blow you away but it's still good. The cone itself is dinky and flavourless. - Coconut pandan ($5.00 AUD) - B's choice which I had a taste of. It's coconut prominent. Could barely taste any pandan. Good but there's better gelato shops. Cash only. 3.5 stars.

(Gee, that was a mouthful) Situated in quiet Yarra lane which is just off Darling Street, the new self-serve concept has yet to pick up but we're sure it will soon enough. How it works is you are the master of your own yoghurt cup experience. It's a clever system, I think because you decide how much yoghurt you want (perfect for small or very large eaters) and then you choose your toppings and everything is calculated by weight. This means, if you're in a huge yoghurt mood and you fill your bowl with yoghurt and toppings, you pay the price. Likewise, if you're just in the mood for a quick slither of a taste, you pay for the small portion. It's the perfect equation and one where you can never again blame the service staff for under or over portioning. My advice however is to try the flavours you're interested in before your swirl your cup under the yoghurt machine. Once you're set on your choice (you can choose as many flavours as you like), then you start the DIY part. We've been here on two occasions now and it's always empty because the apartments nearby are still quite vacant but we're sure once word gets round, this place will pack up so get in before everybody else.
