Just literally walked out of this facility. To start off the hostess was not at the front end when we arrived. The 5 minute wait didn't bother me. The restaurant was practically empty so seating us should be a no brainer. She takes us out to the patio area and we requested a seat inside. As I said there were a lot of empty tables. She says" there are no clean tables you'll need to wait 5-10 minutes". Mind you the tables only needed to be wiped down. There were no dishes in them. She couldn't wipe the tables? The kids meals are actually pretty healthy and reasonably sensible portions for once, but the fattest of my kids insists on getting some enormous adult size burger instead, and I just can't fight it any more. If you are in the mall and need a bite to eat, this is one of my favorite spots ON A WEEKDAY. I would definitely pass this place up on a weekend as the servers/cooks cant keep it together (sometimes the fries are cold or even the entree- drinks are served on a 30min elapse). I don't normally leave reviews but this one is warranted. The waitress brought coffee to us the she spilled all over the saucer. My cup was 3/4 full and like warm. It took me about 15min to get it replaced because she was busy. I saw her drinking some Starbucks. We ordered food and asked if my dish came with any sides. I asked because I wanted to have a filling meal. She informed me that it didn't so I ordered a side of rice and beans. When it come the manager brings it out and there is a side salad with feta cheese on the same plate as my quesadilla. I guess it did come with a side. The side I did order was made with an ingredient that I'm allergic to. It was rice and beans. They took away the beans brought them back and then took the rice and left the beans. Beans without the rice is useless to me. My friends dish came with fries that was fried in old oil. Pickles that looked they were forgotten in the back of the fridge in plastic wrap. They were dried out and wrinkled. Not they weren't the fried pickles you can order. read more

I'm a Chili's fan.. 2x this week different locations. However, this Monday when I went this location my boyfriend and I were asked if we wanted to make a donation to St. Jude's Childrens Hospital. I told my broyfriend no because I would rather send them a check. He insisted on a $5 donation. Point I'm getting to is when the bill came for signature the $5 was added to the amount being taxed.. I don't know maybe it's me, but I don't think that should have been done. I think management or corporate should find a better way to record the donation made by a customer! This was probably one of the worst dining experiences I had recently. I was a server during college for four year and I left without leaving a tip. That says a lot! Our sampler appetizer came out with the wrong sauce on the wings. An easy mistake. The server told us that she sent it in correctly and seemed pretty bothered that we asked for wings with buffalo sauce instead of BBQ. Then I order a bud lite. The beer I received was clearly way too dark to be a bud lite, I informed our server that this was wrong and she seemed even more bothered and gave me the impression that she didn't believe me. To top it all off, she brought the wings back to the table and they clearly were the exact same wings we ordered, the kitchen just tossed them in a new sauce and sent them back out. Needless to say I won't be back. I understand it was a holiday weekend and it gets stressful, but this was just unacceptable. read more

My wife and I have been eating almost every two to three weekends at the Palisades Center for over 10 years. While many restaurants have come and gone, Chili's seemed be able to stick around. I felt that it wasn't because they had decent food (not outrageous, but better than average) , but because Chili's had one thing that none of the other restaurants at the same mall lacked... In the 10 years or so, we have NEVER had a bad service at Chili's... Until this past weekend. We were waited on by a man named Deboris, who started off in a courteous mannor. We ordered our children's food first and then after our children's food had been out, he walked over to finally take out order. We ordered two guacomole burgers, and we asked him to hold the cheese on the guacomole burger for my wife and no seasons on the fries. I also ordered a cup of the potato soup. After 20 minutes, we still sat there, our children all but done with their food, and I noticed that despite us being the second family to be seated, most of the other families (who walked in while Deboris was taking our order) started to get their food. As he went by, I told him, "Deboris, if the burgers are going to be a problem, can we order something else?" He barely turned around and said, "no, they are coming, it'll be out soon". The the conversation goes: me: "how long does it take to cook a burger? it's been over 30 minutes". Deboris: 'you ordered yours well done, so it takes time to make a well done burger." me: "So it takes you over 30 minutes to cook a well done burger?" Deboris: "it takes 15-20 minutes to cook a well done burger that's why it's taking so long" Deboris then turned around and walked over to the other table, and then, My wife: "Excuse me, we also didn't get my husband's soup" Deboris: (turns his head around his shoulder and says) "Yeah! I'm gettin' it" He walked off before I got to ask him why the soup takes 30 minutes too... he than walked back with a bowl of soup, with a spoon stuck in it, no plate, holding it with his thumb on the edge of the bowl, and soup dripping off the sides. He then puts it on the center of the table (not even infront of me), and then walks off. He then changes his mind and comes back and says, "They're plating your burgers right now, it'll be out soon, but you also ordered fries without seasonings, so it takes time when we have to make all new fries too". I noticed the manager bringing the same potato soup to the table next to ours, but this time, the soup was in a same type of bowl, but on a napkin ontop of a plate, with a spoon on the side. The manager said, "I'm sorry that this took a while, but rest of your food should be out soon." Maybe they need to have this manager teach Deboris how to handle customer service. My family and I have always enjoyed Chili's, because no matter what, we always had friendly service, but seriously, this Deboris person was too busy coming up with explanations on why our changing of the menu was the reason we were being "punished" with bad service. Also, after all our food came, and we finally started to eat, he stood there and started talking again about how our changing the seasoning on the fries and ordered well done is what caused the order to be late. I think we would have been fine with a, "I'm sorry the kitchen was backed up because we just opened for service (an HOUR AGO!)"... I think that would have been enough... Sadly, we won't be going back here again anytime soon, or if we do, we will make sure to ask that they do not give us Deboris as a server. read more

Wow! An hour and a half wait for a table of 5 was intense. Definitely worth the wait, though. We were seated with a great young lady by the name of Cynthia. She was so patient with us, despite how busy the restaurant was. Did take our food longer than usual to come out, but then again the servers kindness and her treating us like family is mostly the reason for this review. Okay this was a day or 2 after Christmas and as per our server the place was WAY understaffed. Not my problem but as a group we wanted to get something to eat at the Palisades center and Buffalo Wild Wings was out (Read my review of that hellhole) as were about 3 or 4 places across from Chili's which seemed to have recently closed. Must be a new Mall opening in the area.... Anyways on to Chili's - Wait time for a table was only a few minutes, the server told us about the staffing issue (again not my problem but kudos to her for trying to manage expectations) and we did get out drinks and nachos relatively quickly. And that was about as good as it got. Now when you get the name Chili's in you head you get the song ..... you know the one.... And I ordered - the ribs. Another person got one of the oriental chicken things and another ordered a burger on the menu but without cheese. Simple right? Okay in most places now one person seats you, another takes your order and like 5 or 6 others who work there actually bring out your food. The asian chicken dish came out all on it's lonesome with an apology "short staffed" - mmm okay. The burger came out covered in cheese (the few requests we do make when it comes to food we hope will be followed) and when the ribs did make their table side debut - they were cold. Not warm, or a bit in the window too long but cold. The burger and ribs went back. Never an apology from the manager or anyone on that and then full price for everything. So my question is do I really need another restaurants rewards card in my collection? Chili's used to be a good value with decent food and quick service. Maybe it's time I stopped going to that location and encourage others to do the same. read more

I came by with the kids for dinner on a Sunday night. I think I will definitely not be back. Chilis advertised a 3-course meal for $10. When I asked about it the "waitress" said she would go get that menu. Why wasn't it on the table? Ordered a "classic margarita" was told that was "bottom shelf" okay....ordered traditional chicken crispers. They came out Luke warm and soggy. They either were sitting under a heating lamp or put in the microwave. A new fresh order was served after both of my kids finished eating. For a moment I felt bad for our waitress thinking she was horribly overworked or they were understaffed. I asked her. Are you short handed tonight.? To which she replied " No". She was bussing tables, sweeping the floors and trying the attend to the entire bar area??? Watching this girl go from sweeping the floor straight into the kitchen to pick up people's food and drinks from the bar...Absolutely disgusting. Had to get out of my seat 2x to try and find her. Place is mobbed. People don't care because they're in the mall. But people please drive up the road to the chilis in Nanuet you'll be much happier. read more

Why can this particular Chili's not remain consistent. Actually, it is consistently inconsistent! What a gross experience we had! From the hostess sucking her teeth and wiping down the booth begrudgingly when we politely asked for napkins - because all surfaces were sopping wet, and we couldn't sit down...to the awful service, and awful food...it all made me not want to come back. The restaurant was only about a quarter filled, yet our server seemed distracted, and indifferent. He didn't even finish hearing out my order...walked away while I was still trying to order an additional side. No attempt at suggesting or advising us on specials. When I tasted my half-rack of ribs - which for some reason always have very little meat at this location, and always arrive cold - I was put off by their unfamiliar tangy flavor. That's when I realized he never even asked me which of the 3 rib-styles I wanted! Our server was nowhere to be found, for me to even let him know, then resurfaced chatting up another table. By the time he came over, I said nothing because nothing nice was going to come out of any of our mouths at the table. Mashed potatoes looked like someone had splattered a blob of spackle or joint compound on a plate. Chili's used to be my favorite fast-casual chain. This location has finally put me off of Chili's for good, I think. The Palisades mall has many other offerings to choose from. read more

"We'll text you when your table is ready." Great, we'll go to Barnes & Noble in the meantime. 45 min later -- numerous open, clean tables are free, and we're still waiting for the text. Even more dirty tables are unoccupied and just waiting to be bussed. So...we're leaving now (come on, you don't need a review of Chili's food; you know what it is). I mean, it's a Saturday night Chili's people -- you misguided underachievers whose shattered hopes and dreams led you to text (or not text) me today... I mean, you didn't predict that people in the mall might want to eat here today? You didn't think brining in some more waitstaff might be prudent? the last 2 times I have gone to the Chili's at The Palisades Mall in West Nyack has been a total disappointment for my family and I who travel so far from the Bronx just to come here and have horrible service. The same problem keeps happening we put our order in and the waiter forgets to bring out 1 of our food what makes it even worse the waiter Lied to cover his Own ass saying he didn't hear order correctly when he repeated the order to us. On top off that when we spoke to the manager who was handling the matter he said he would take 1 of the entrees off of the bill BUT that was not done. We didn't even get to eat as the host was really having a hard time listening. First of all i had asked for a high chair. He sits us and then forgets the high chair. I ask him again and he tells me that the table can't accommodate a high chair only a booster. Inside my head I'm trying to fathom how he decided to sit me at a table that can't accommodate a high chair when that's what I had asked for upfront. We try the booster and it doesn't work so I go to him again and ask to be moved and he interrupts me saying he has another type of booster. My son just turned three, I needed something to keep him from moving around, frustrated I head back to the table and collect my things and my family and I leave. The host seemed more interested in talking than actually listening to what the customer asked for and needed. Those with families and small children just be mindful when you come here. When your child moves around a lot and you want to sit him down without having to worry so much about him moving around, you understand how crucial the high chair is to being able to actually sit and enjoy your meal. My family and I have eaten here over a dozen times and never had a problem.. I always leave positive feedback in the tablets they have on their table. Tonight was the opposite experience. Our waiter was absolutely horrible. Took our order never came to check on us, only half our food came and we had to flag him down in order to let him know. He said he was going to check on it, never came back until I flagged him down again to tell him to cancel our food. Manager came over and was very apologetic, but the waiter clearly did not give a s**t. I would come back but if they try to sit me with this waiter I would immediately walk out. read more
