    two cocktails on a table

We decided to pop in here for dinner one night and it was a nice treat. Our server was attentive but not overbearing which was nice. They had margarita special, a tasty Santa marg with a fun straw for only 6 bucks! To add I had the chicken quesadillas that were very tasty! All in all a good trip!

I'm so glad I cut it in half before biting into it.

Review with update at end - I haven't eaten at this Chili's in a while and was very disappointed in our meal last night. The meal started out good until I got the salad. The ranch dressing was very watery and asked the server if they made it there. She said, "no, it was Hidden Valley", which surprised me and came in a jug. She offered to get me a different kind and I said, it was no big deal and just ate it. The croutons were amazing and the salad itself was delicious. I ordered an Old Fashined double cheeseburger, well done. When it came out it only had 1 piece of meat. I mentioned it to the server, who offered to get another one made, but I didn't want to put her to the trouble and said I would just eat it. That one was cooked perfectly, however, I could barely taste the meat, so I took her up on the offer for a new burger. When the second burger came it had two pieces of meat, however, they were medium rare and extremely bloody. At that point I was done with the meal, I had asked for the manager to come out because after drinking my coke I smelled something strange in the glass. I asked the server to smell it, but she refused and was rude about it. When the manager came over, I asked him the same thing. He was also rude about it, as well. I said it might not have been washed from a previous drink and his response was, "I suppose it wasn't." Gross! At 6:30 pm on a Saturday night they were dead, and now I SUPPOSE why. UPDATE: I went to the Jensen Beach Chili's and spoke to the manager there. Their salad dressing IS made in house, so the server lied to me. I ordered food at the Chili's in Jensen .... same thing, and it came out perfect. That manager even comped my meal, which I wasn't even expecting. He also gave me the phone numbers to the main manager and the general manager to call and complain. The first manager couldn't take my call, even though he knew what it was about, and I left a message to the general manager, who never returned my call. They obviously need new management. The Chili's in Stuart is the worst! Eat at the Chili's in Jensen Beach! I guess I'll call corporate next.

The potato soup is fantastic. We got it to go. It comes with Tostito chips. We've had it several times. It never disappoints.

Honestly maybe this woman was just having a bad day but my experience here was absolutely…read moreridiculous and rude in general I had just come from a long day of surfing I wanted something quick and easy.. And the old woman behind the bar with dark hair was extremely rude to me, she had a blue top on. I ordered French onion soup over the phone and asked for the "bread" on the side I arrived about 10 mins later, nobody could find my order... bc she didn't even put it in! This other sever which she was nice simply just asked if I meant the crotons on the side, which I replied yes The woman in the blue shirt starts arguing with me saying "she said bread on the phone" "she said bread it's not bread it's crotons" croutons are in fact bread but besides the point I feel like it was a pretty straight forward request. I don't know why the woman who took my order was so adamant about proving her point over the fact I said croutons instead of bread.. and arguing saying stuff about it when the other server had it handled. The woman who are arguing me over the bread thing, proceeded to put my order in but then ignored me and didn't cash me out. She immediately went to talk to some guys at the bar instead of cashing me out, at that point I stood there for another good 10 minutes and still didn't get rang up so ultimately I decided to leave, as I was ignored and argued with over me using the term "bread" instead of "crouton" I wouldn't recommend this place for food, a lot of locals say the food is only good if you've been drinking and the wings are always undercooked, so I don't think I'd risk trying this place out.. All in all the server who took care of me was very sweet and nice I know it wasn't her fault The woman who initially took my order was very rude.

I checked out their menu and saw that they serve craft beer from local breweries like Funky Buddha, Sailfish, Sweetwater, and Big Top. After checking out their $4 drink special menu I picked the Strawberry Berret Draft from barrel of Monks because anything with strawberries is A-OK by me. Unfortunately I was over charged for my drink and it was a hassle to fix it so I let it ride because I was just so grateful to be out by the water, sipping a beer, and enjoying life that I didn't even care. When you order a special I suggest mentioning it. This a super cute place perfect for enjoying the best of what Florida has to offer.

For our entrees, I had the seafood platter, my bride had the shrimp scampi. Finally for dessert we shared a slice of the caramel cheesecake. THE ATMOSPHERE: The restaurant is on the water with bar seating and white cloth table dining in several rooms. If you're looking for seaside dining Pirates Cove will suite you fine. THE FOOD: Our appetizers... My French onion soup was made like a traditional French onion soup with plenty of melted cheese and oodles of onions. There were plenty of mussels bathed in a delicious white wine and butter base for my brides mussels appetizer. Our entrees... My seafood platter featured a small serving of white fish, which was nice and juicy, two small stuffed shrimp, which were quite tasty, two scallops made properly (not under cooked and slimy or overcooked and rubbery). My brides shrimp scampi featured 5 small shrimp over a bed of linguine. The dish was well made with hints of garlic and butter in the balanced cream sauce. The dessert: Our caramel cheesecake dessert was creamy and rich. THE SERVICE: It's always a challenge for a server to serve large parties, but our server did great. Delivered our drinks in a timely fashion watched over us for any needed refills and clearly explained any questions we had. THE BOTTOM LINE: As always with my reviews, the "customer so what" would I return is complicated for the Pirates Cove. My answer... probably not. Why not if the food was prepared properly, the ambiance was fitting for a seafood restaurant and the service was fine? The answer lies in serving size, price and add on charges. I don't mind paying premium prices for a premium meal but Pirates Cove charged $40 for a seafood platter that should more realistically be called a seafood sampling. At $36 My wife's shrimp scampi should have featured large shrimp instead of the small shrimp she received. And, finally, the add on prices which included a 3% service charge and a whopping 21% tip. I don't mind tipping heavily for good service and our server would have probably gotten 25% if it was my choice. However, I HATE having a restaurant dictate what I'll tip! I understand mandatory tipping for a large party but I've never seen it set at 21%! As for the service charge, it was placed on every bill whether you paid with a credit card or not. One of my guests asked if that was a credit card fee (which I hate as well) and was told if he paid cash, our servers would take that fee off. How many people didn't know enough to ask that question, and end up paying that fee when paying with cash?? I hate underhanded trickery like that and discourage it by not returning. In summary you'll have to ask yourself before dining at Pirates Cove, is the food, ambiance and service quality worth the rest? If it is, enjoy. As for me, I'll skip it. There are too many other great seafood places that will provide quality dining, great service and atmosphere without the unwelcome luggage included.
