My family and I stopped coming here the past few years due to terrible service. The wait was always too long with very few customers and unkind service. We decided to give it another go tonight and I'm so glad we did. They have completely cleaned up their act and we had a fantastic experience. Our waitress Katie was very down to earth and happy to be there. And the kitchen manager was awesome. We had a rare steak come out well done and this was remedied immediately with a new, perfectly rare steak. Thank you so much for making our dinner a memorable experience. Stopped for a few days in Idaho Falls. Found the Chili's and popped in for dinner. Found out it's being managed under a new GM. Had a great waitperson. Hostess seated us promptly. Everyone was friendly and professional. Had the shrimp tacos. They were fresh and tasted great. My companion had the brisket burger and said it was tasty as well. They were spot on. We have loved Chili's for a long time. So we keep giving this Chili's chances (I lost count but it's gotta be at least 5) because other locations in other states are yummy. But we're definitely done now, after spending $60 on a to-go order that was missing a meal, and the food we did have was cold, too salty, and overcooked. I am probably one of the most loyal Chili's restaurant fans. I travel a lot and rarely don't include a meal at a chili's when I am on the road. I live in Idaho Falls, and will never come back to this chili's location. I truly have never had worse service ever at any restraint. I don't believe it is the people, it is definitely management. Just know if you go there for dinner or lunch you will be at least 2 hours, your drink will run out, your Chup bowel will not be refilled, and when dinner is over you will have to ask to have the plates removed. Ordered pickup & after 10 minutes of waiting I called and they said by food had been done. I said ok? Why has no one come out? (It is pickup) anyways so I go in and then wait another 10 mins for the manager to run my gift card when they didn't even need to, worker seemed new which didn't bother me. What bothered me is that we waited 10-15 minutes for our order that had been done and getting cold. Very disappointing. I think this place is done for. During my last visit here they were short staffed and the waitress actually said that she wasn't sure that they knew what they were doing in the kitchen. Today, again, they appear short staffed, and the food was all burnt. I wanted to give this place a chance since I've been coming here for so long, but this is my last visit. There isn't really a way to rate this place more than 1 star. We waited 15 minutes for water alone. Over 20 minutes for the server to let me know that they were out of the drink I ordered, over 30 minutes to get a beer that was on tap and we were done eating before our waitress even came back around to be told to just take my drink completely off the bill. THEN my drink arrived. Appetizer wasn't worth even ordering, we had to find our own napkins, our food was served but we had to go looking for a server to finally get silverware to be able to eat the food in front of us and then we couldn't even find anyone to bring us a bill and make sure the canceled drink was removed from the bill. I couldn't even get my water refilled while we ate. We weren't checked on at all to make sure we had what we needed or got everything we ordered. Poor service all around. read more

We went to Chili's for dinner on Aug 24 while on vacation. Awesome food and service. This was my first time at Chili's and I was impressed. I like to find local options to eat at, but since the motel down the street has been home for awhile, this place is within walking distance to enjoy. We have had excellent food and service each time we've visited here. Menu is consistant for a chain, but I have to say the cooks do a great job preparing the meals. My husband and I have eaten at this Chilis many times. We enjoy Chilis and eat at several of their other restaurants, so we know the quality of their food. This particular Chilis has gone down! The few times we have eaten there the service was okay. Not great, but its a Chilis, not a 5 star establishment. When we walked in the past couple of times, there wasn't anyone in the front to greet us. Yesterday, we waited about 5 minutes before finally grabbing menu and seating ourselves. I ordered the margarita chicken and when it got there, the chicken was rubbery and had a horribly sweet flavor. The other dish they has on that menu was a mango chili chicken. Mine tasted like they had a mango one prepared and wiped of the mango sauce, put a bit of salsa on, and sent it out to me. It was awful. I often get this dish and know how it should taste. It was sweet and as I said, rubbery. When I mentioned this to the waitress she didn't seem at all interested in what I had to say. As I mentioned, we often eat at Chilis, but will not be returning to this particular branch again. They really need to review their service and food. read more

I came here with my family. Kids got Mac n cheese, which I understand is never a great meal, but it looked like kraft macncheese. The rest of us got steak. I got a $20 ribeye that for the life of me I cannot see how they are calling it a ribeye. Not tender, no marbling, horrible cut of meat. Comes out the first time, ordered it mid-rare. Came out well done. They were nice enough to try and fix it but the back of house really screwed the pooch with this one. My husband and I visited this Chili's on the 4th of July. There was a family waiting to be seated so I sat on the bench to wait for the hostess, she immediately appeared, directed someone to seat the family, and apologized to us for the wait (we had barely sat down). We were offered seating options, and we selected a booth by the bar that had just been vacated, so they cleaned it up and sat us down. So let me give a background: My husband and I are from Southern California. Wait times at local restaurants usually START at 30 minutes. To be seated in under 10 minutes on a holiday is nothing short of a miracle. Back to the visit: We saw our hostess bussing tables and we saw our server mixing drinks at the bar, in addition to their regular duties, and the manager was handling complaints and supporting her staff. She was visible and engaged. The complaints (I'm an eavesdropper and we were at a good listening booth) were generic ones people make when they think they are entitled to free stuff (my appetizers came too late, you didn't seat me fast enough..etc...) Way to take advantage, local people (they were locals because they always articulated how often they visited the place). Despite the the short staff, entitled clientele, and general chaos of a holiday, these women (and gentleman) were flawless. One of the waiters even complimented his guest's outfit (it was fabulous) and I think it made her evening (she just lit up). Little things like that are important.These folks are great and have more patience than I ever could. read more

I find with most chain restaurants in Idaho Falls they never provide consistent food or service, which is what exactly a chain isn't supposed to do. This Chili's is sometimes really good but other times not so good. I do love having the 2-for-one drink specials back (FYI Massachusetts has very strict drinking laws = no drink specials EVER!). The bartenders are just a variable as the cooks, so sometimes you get excellent mix drinks, sometimes you don't. If you're a fan if Chili's and expect your Chili's food craving to taste just like usual and what you expect, it's a flip-of-a-coin, you might just luck out and get what you expect. read more

The menu is the same as every other Chili's you've been in before. That's why you come here when you're STARVING and not feeling adventurous. The bathrooms were clean, and the staff was friendly and attentive, without being overbearing. There was a pretty constant flow of patrons, but they handled it well, including large parties. This location gets an extra star for great staff. The funniest thing that happened occurred when a large parties that had several toddlers left. As they walked past, we smiled at the kids. One of them was soooooo excited that someone was paying attention to her, that she started clapping her hands and making those exuberant kid noises that are just full of joy and jumping instead of walking. We were offered outdoor seating after being told sitting at the bar would be the fastest way to get served. But with it being a nice evening we ventured for the patio. What we witnessed on the patio should have been our first clue...all but three tables were empty with tables that had not been bussed. While seated we were provided menus. We (two of us) waited for over 15 minutes and no one employee stooped to even offer water. There was another couple on the patio and a waitress stopped by their table three times but acted like we weren't there. We decided to take our business across the street to Applebee's. We were immediately seated with water, menus , and ordered within 5 minutes...food within 15. On our way home we drove by the Chili's patio and the tables were still not bussed and our menus were still at the tables we were seated. As a side note, when telling this to a friend he stated once he stopped in when it looked closed (during their posted business hours) and mentioned the exterior lights were off...an employee told him they do that so people don't come in.
