Food was amazing, the price to size was great. Food was really good and the bingo was a surprise. They give away prizes. The size of the servings was large. Cocktails from a can were ok. The chips were great, I saw they make their own. Salas was good. Queso was really good. read more

Cafe Sabor - Queso and chips - Mexican Near Me - Idaho Falls, Idaho

Service was fast and ok but the food was substandard at best . I have been to most of the cafe Sabors and this is the worst experience I have had. I would say that the only thing this place has over the Cafe Rio that is in the same parking lot is that they have margaritas but .... It showed up in a pint glass Uhg . A lot of the higher rated places closed before 8pm which is why we ended up here but we didn't even finish our food . Last Sabor meal for us . read more

Cafe Sabor is AWESOME!!! It is a great place to go as a couple or the whole family! You will LOVE everything that you order.

Should of listen to the reviews but I wanted to try it out. Unfortunately I regret going because the beer was empty when I got my beer Rita unlike the pictures where it showed they are half bottle filled. The ceviche didn't have salting crackers either and the server was confused of it when I asked. The waiter/order person only showed up to take our orders and the bill. They all looked miserable and unhappy. Didn't feel friendly and need to focus on their customer service. More friendly, and smile because they looked like they didn't want to be there. I liked the decoration though reminded me of back home in Mexico. The prices were overpriced to what we ordered and will likely not come back unless I get crackers with my ceviche and the beer Rita looks like the picture or any other places that served it the right way. read more

The food was mediocre at best. The staff seemed so unhappy- no smiles or greeting just a "how many" and that's it. Biggest complaint: my wife is allergic to tomatoes and told the waitress she specifically wanted the tortilla soup and asked if it had tomatoes. The waitress said she didn't know and said she'd let her know and if it did, my wife would then get her the second choice. After a long wait, the food started showing up. The soup was last. My wifes was chock full of tomatoes. The waitress didn't do anything about it. Another waitress came out and handled it, followed up by the man I believed to be the manager or owner. He was great. We were there for a birthday dinner. The celebrant's husband told the staff when we came in that this was a birthday dinner. They forgot- unfortunately, and we reminded them. They put on the ritz for the birthday girl and did a fine job. For that we thank them. However, we won't be going back. The manager guy was very professional and great to deal with. He gets a 5 stars. The place was packed so we very well could have been the exception. It's all good. read more

First, the food was absolutely out of this world! The Chino Latino Egg Rolls are something NOT to miss! The quesadillas were excellent, so much flavor! The jalepeno jelly is soooo good! Last, but certainly not least is the service! Armando took care of our group from the start and made sure everything was to our liking. I HIGHLY recommend hitting up Cafe Sabor in Idaho Falls for great food and great service! read more

Cafe sabor has a lot of authentic dishes to pick from. I went with my family and everyone was pleased with their order. This place always seems to be busy , so you may have to wait a little longer for a table. The servers were friendly. I saw it posted but forgot to take a pic of the sign. They have a dinner and movie package. Looked like a hood deal since they are next door to the theater. read more

Great south of the border food at Cafe Sabor. We have always had promt reliable service as well.

Came with a pube. I asked for the Monterey Chicken without a black pubic hair, but I guess the server didn't hear me because they still threw one in there. Yeaaaaaah, it's a no from me dawg. read more

Update: The owner of Cafe Savor reached out to me to relay that I was mistakenly charged the $9.00 "packaging fee" and the correct charge was supposed to be approximately 30 cents or less. The owner kindly refunded the fee and made the situation right. The owner relayed that a sign explaining the new packaging fee in more detail is posted in their restaurant. I have been a long-time customer of Cafe Sabor and have always enjoyed their food. I ordered their well-known burrito special to-go, and when I went to pay, I was unpleasantly surprised to discover that I was charged an $8.60 "packing fee." This fee was never brought to my attention when I called to order. I asked for clarification, and the waitress told me it was the fee charged for packaging up my meal, but I feel this price is inflated when you consider it is more than the actual burrito meal. I understand that prices are rising with inflation, but I still feel like this is a little much. I am very disappointed that this occurred, and had I known the outrageous fee, I would have dined in for my meal. Heed my warning, if you decide to take your burrito special to-to, be prepared to pay more than double the price. read more

Came to try out their tacos because I had read they just won the award for the best Mexican restaurant in IF but unfortunately left feeling a little disappointed. For starters, they are really expensive when compared to other taquerias. If you come on Tuesday and buy their taco promotion it softens the financial blow somewhat, however, even then I would still consider them to be rather expensive. I ordered the asada and carnitas tacos. Both were good but considering they're 2x more expensive than other joints I was expecting the experience to be elevated as well. It wasn't. They were good but not great and definitely not worth it at the menu price point. read more

We went to dinner at Café Sabor last week, and we had a terrible experience. Our server paid no attention to us. Did not ask us if we wanted a refill.the refried beans were like liquid soup. My enchilada tasted like it was from a frozen package it was of poor quality, my husband's food was equally poor the food tasted like it was not homemade or restaurant quality when we got our bill which we had to stand up and ask for. Our server was standing at the front desk, laughing and chatting with all the other servers. I think there might've been only three patrons in the restaurant . We noticed on the bill that there was a hidden charge. It was called the kitchen surcharge. That sounded crazy because the food was of such poor quality beware of that surcharge We have been to café Sabor in the past and it has been delicious but not anymore. read more

We ordered food over the phone. Went and picked the food up. Pollo con crema portion size for $15 was ridiculously small!!! The bill for the 5 meals we got was $100! However, there was a 6 percent sales tax, along with kitchen surcharge and packaging fee... which was $16 total. So stupid. Food was not that great! Also, portion sizes were super small for the cost of eat meal! We will not order from them again! read more

First, we where seated fairly fast, within 5 minutes. It looked like low staff, but the service was still fantastic. They gave us warm chips and salsa, the salsa isn't chunky which I like, but some like chunky salsa. Anyways the salsa was great. I'm at the table right now and so far so good. Update... It has been probably 10-15 minutes since we ordered, and our food just got here. I can already see the presentation is fantastic and mouth watering. Pictures don't do it justice. Done eating... The food was really good. I got the chicken pollo fundo, which is a chicken chimichanga. It was hot and delicious. We ordered dessert, fried ice cream. It was a big scoop, probably the size of a softball and perfect for 4 people, especially after the meals. It was really good, all in all really good, I will be coming back! Bonus thought. Sis had the veggie burrito and said the veggies where amazing Dad had the steak, said seasoned well and was pretty good. The chimichanga where the perfect crunchiness Water was good, usually water at some places taste like tap but this tasted good. They deserve a 4.5 star average for yelp. read more

So bland. Service is good and staff was friendly. When you have lived in CA, AZ and TX you have an expectation of quality Mexican food. This restaurant is safe for those who are afraid of some spice and flavor. I ordered the combo with 2 shredded beef tacos and a shredded beef enchilada. There is no enchilada sauce. It's covered in melted cheese (Which the grease from saturated the bottom of my tacos and I could not pick up to eat. Shredded beef did not taste bad, just did not really have any "wow". Beans and rice were fine. Chips were good. Salsa was like the food. Instead of Cafe Sabor it should be Cafe Insipido. read more

Pictures do not do it justice for how great the food is. The service was alittle slow, and the menu clearly states that red sauce enchilada sauce comes on top of these two meals but it was missing. We were so hungry we were willing to let it slide but other than that food was great. It's a huge step up for the local fast food options of Mexican food. I will definitely come back again. read more

I can only speak for the salsa... ((I am from California... quiet... don't tell anyone..)) but my daughter know I like quality salsa.... well she knew we would not have time to go there for dinner so she bought some for home eating.... well that was off the charts good!!! I really tried hard to make the trip to eat there... well I will be back and will make time to eat there!! AMAZING Salsa! I have since eaten In the Layton UT location. I think I'm done with this place. Food is fairly consistent, service seems to be inconsistent, we usually try to overlook that because we do like the food and the location is convenient for us. Our most recent visit was bad enough for us to call ot quits. We waited about 10 minutes after arrival before our seever came by. We ordered drinks and our food together, the food took about 30 minutes, and the drinks came 10 minutes later, and were not made right, they were mostly flavored syrup, rather than the long island margaritas they were supposed to be. One of our meals was undercooked, and not well made. Anything we asked our server for would take her 10 minutes to return with. A large party came in after us, who got full service right away from our server. No one bothered asking why we weren't finishing our food or drinks. When our server brought the check, I gave her my card right away because of how long everything was taking, and at this point we had been there for 70 minutes. She brought me back the signature copy with no pen to fill out the tip or sign it. Not wanting to wait another 15 minutes, we gave up and walked out. All this and there is a sign saying that there is a forced gratuity for kitchen staff, whether they do a good job or not. I do not recommend this place, they can't seem to get their service issues fixed. read more

Tried this place for the first time today and I will not be back. We came in and were seated and ignored for quite a while. Didn't even get water till after we finally ordered. We really like the freshness found here. A little bit spendy but worth it. My daughter had a quesadilla appetizer that was to die! Liked the ceviche, but ask for extra limes. This is probably one of my favorite spots in town. You can find me there most Thursdays enjoying a delicious lunch special for $5.95. Their chips and salsa are the best in town. If anyone else thinks they've discovered something better, please, share the secret because this place is head and shoulders above anywhere else I've found. All of their meats are amazingly flavorful and juicy- no matter what entree you order, you can rest assured that the meat that comes with it will be delicious. read more

Definitely not $12 worth of chicken mole. Maybe five small chunks in a way too sweet sauce. The chips were awesome! When we finally got them...the service was very slow. We asked the guy who gave us the chips after waiting for about 20 minutes to get us water, and he told us "I'm not your server" and we had to wait another 8ish minutes for our server to come. Strangely enough the service got better as the night went on and it got busier. I think he could tell we were getting annoyed. Cafe Rio is across the street. Go there. read more

We love Cafe Sabor! We've been going there from time to time for years! We recently went there and it was awesome! They're all decked out for Halloween, the food was great, service was amazing! We've gone many times in the past had ok experiences but our last one was the best! Our server was very interactive in playing with my youngest and only son! She even got him to start eating his dinner which we couldn't do for some reason! The power went out just as we were about to pay and leave which strangely made topped off the evening! Our awesome server took down our payment info to run the next day. The staff joked with us a little and we just had a great time! I would recommend Cafe Sabor to to anyone!! read more

Not that good I'm afraid. I have at this restaurant several times at other locations and it seems to be going downhill. Unfortunately, the Idaho Falls location has been the worst experience at this chain. Here is my critique: I ordered 1 cheese enchilada, one sweet pork enchilada, and one tamale. It arrived much sooner than expected, but I would have preferred to have waited to have this prepared correctly. The plate arrive warm, not hot as you would typically expect. The cheese enchilada was lukewarm with unmelted cheese in the middle. Yeck. I could not finish it due to it not being served at a good temperature. It was basically unmelted cheese wrapped in a corn tortilla with cheese "sauce" on top. The sweet pork enchilada was also lukewarm. Once again, did not want to finish it due to low temperature. The tamale was a good temperature and tasted fine. I seemed like the tamale had been at least kept in a warmer until being served. The cheese sauce on top was also lukewarm covering the tamale and enchiladas. I'm not sure what is going on at this location, but they really need to look at retraining their cooks to ensure quality food is served. Unfortunately, I forgot to take a picture so you'll just have to take my word for it. read more

food was not good, service was terrible, the wait was unimaginable, I had to wait 2 minutes for my food to be served smh‍

Usually try and go this Mexican restaurant when we do a dinner and a movie. Great location next to the theatre plus I love their location in Island Park. Their salsa is very , very good. Chips are always fresh and they refill them if needed. My favorite here is usually the California chimichanga it is huge and very flavorful! This last time the lil woman and I shared the steak fajitas and they were excellent! The service is always good here especially when you consider they are mostly high school or college kids serving. Great restaurant and they will fill you up!! read more

I have been here 3 times since it's been Cafe Sabor. The 1st time the food was amazing, so I went a 2nd. The next two times I was here, the food was just ok. Their service though? Horrible. This isn't the greatest Mexican restaurant i've been to, but it's a terrific value. They offer date night specials (2 dinners, 2 drinks, dessert, and 2 movie tickets to Edwards next door for $35), an early bird special (2 dinners, 2 drinks, and fried ice cream for $15 from 4-6), but my favorite is the Thursday special (the burrito and drink for $6). It is not the most amazing food but it is good, consistent, and can be a decent value. We tried bringing the kids, but didn't find the kids meals to be as good of a value/deal as we would get at a chain restaurant (Texas Roadhouse, Chili's, or Red Robin). read more
