Not a bad burrito, mine had way too many onions for my taste, and I enjoy them. The location is a little odd spot, looks like a converted garage. Overall I'd return, try something else.

El Rinconcito Mexican Food had delicious tacos. It's in a strange location but is worth it. The music is way to loud.

Busy local lunch spot. Seems to have a steady stream of customers.

The carne asada tacos were amazing. The meat was tender and flavorful. The homemade tortilla was soft and delicious. The beans were lukewarm and so was the rice, but the tacos were so good it did not matter. The onions and cilantro were just the right amount to add flavor without overpowering the taco. Appreciated the different salsa options and could have happily ordered more to take with me. Delicious!

    Enchilada and tamale time!

Idaho Falls has plenty of Mexican restaurants. But El Rinconcito stands out on a couple of fronts. First, they make their own tortillas in house and their salsas are pungent, spicy and delicious! Second, friendly folks behind the ordering counter are happy to explain any menu items you may not be familiar with. Once they get your mouth watering, the real task is deciding what to eat! They have an extensive menu board with specialties you won't find just anywhere. Third, although they're in a less-than-dazzling concrete storefront, they've worked hard on the inside decor to make the restaurant comfortable with a casual vibe. I went with the cheese enchilada and pork tamale and my sister went with the carnitas torta on our visit. The veggies and sauce on my plate were fresh and tasty and the enchilada was slightly crisp on the edges. The not so great? My sisters torta bun was a bit burnt and my tamale was tougher than typical tamale texture. Get one of the house drinks when you go. The hibiscus tea was refreshing and a delight for the eyes!

We were passing through Idaho Falls on a road trip and it was so cold, that I was craving Mexican soup. We decided to stop here and I'm so glad that we did--everything was delicious! The service was excellent! We got menudo, posole, and a mulita

WOWW!!! Traveling across country with my husband from Southern California and accidentally stumbled upon this spot. Saw a picture and immediately knew I need to stop and cure my craving. This place is sooooo gooooood! My husband ordered red enchilada plate which he loved and I ordered a tapatia and a sope. Huge mistake. The sope is huge and the tapatia is ginormous! Hence the price. I should've asked. Oh well. The food here is extremely delicious nonetheless. Definitely try the Tapatia. You all are so blessed to have this restaurant here.

This is likely the only legitimate Mexican restaurant in all of Idaho. I know that sounds dramatic, but it is true! When we arrived, almost all of the patrons were of Latin descent. This isn't a racist comment--that's a sign of authentic cuisine (do the members of said culture frequent a restaurant of said culture's cuisine?). Everything was excellent. I wish there was more seating when we arrived, and I wish the table service was just a tad bit more, but other than that, this place is great for a quick stop when traveling, or to frequent if one lives in Idaho Falls!

You know, those ethnic cuisines whose dreamers go through all that to finally achieve a vision--only to be closed down in less than a couple of years--see it all the time. Yeah well, that ain't Morenita's. I'm sure they put in the hard work, but they've had that hole-in-the-wall vibe location for going on 36 years now. Going strong today cuz they're doin one thing right--everything! They did the time as that hidden gem, serving authentic Michoacán recipes. Keeping food comin out fast and affordable, they consistently served excellence to in-the-know locals. Those locals--their loyals, made Morenita's what it is today--the oldest Mexican eatery in town--the survivor--an Idaho Falls institution. Now, Morenita's is still doin it, with many days of lunchtime being like walking in moments after stocks open on Wall Street. But, for real, the experience is a fiesta. When you're ready to order there is no communication gap. She helped us out with high energy--talkative, helpful, and seemed genuinely happy to be there--nice change. The menu, while presented as authentic, is easily catered to Americanized taste buds. They have a variety of drinks, and wide selection of beers (pretty sure all bottled). So to start, I ordered myself a Modelo Especial. Also, the Breakfast Burrito without potatoes, smothered in cheese and green sauce. That's one thing I don't like about Mexican food breakfast burritos--too much potato, but they fixed it up for me. For a final touch, I ordered a Chile Relleno a la carte. I wanted to add a coffee, which was on the menu, but when I asked for it I was informed all they had was instant. I'm not sure if this is all the time, but that's just...no thanx lol. With a buzzer in hand to alert you to come pick up your food, you go find a table. They are pretty busy, and keep the price down by not running it out to your table. The dining room is not very big, with multiple bench tables big enough to seat like five each. The atmo: Well, not horrible, but a little tooo shared, and cafeteria-like. It was ok, not loud, I could hear who was with me (she gave 5 stars). It's kinda bright and open, but at the same time--chill. The other dine-in customers were totally at ease--completely used to it. Anyway, our buzzer went off, and grabbing the food was quick and easy. The moment of truth: I started with my Breakfast Burrito. They had added extra egg and cheese to replace the potato, filling up the massive fresh tortilla, without extra charge. The first bite took me back to Wall Street, like selling stocks at the right time--total payout! OMGosh it was sooo tasty. The Relleno is maybe the tops in Idaho Falls. Honestly, it's hard to go wrong with a smothered green chile & cheese, but some manage to. Despite my initial apprehension about the atmosphere, I was totally comfortable scarfing down my meal. My usual beer even tasted better there. The food is great, better than many full-scale places. The service is fun and upbeat, and the prices are very competitive. I'm going to do my part to help Morenita's stay around for another 36 years. My highest fast-casual Mexican food rating. Super-Scale 8* Most fast-casual places don't have coffee anyway!

The Quessabirria looked amazing but only tasted of grease which dripped freely all over everything. The carne asada burrito was ok. The meat didn't really stand out and it only tasted of beans, lettuce and sour cream. The two things that were good were the two pork taco options. The pork carnitas had the most amazing texture I've ever been lucky to try. It was moist and crunchy from the flat top. It is definitely worth giving this meat choice a try in anything they have. The true star though was the Adobada tacos. They were amazing. There was tons of meat with so much flavor. These were the best Adobada I've ever had anywhere. I think the highs were very high but the lows were just as low. They have decent salsas but if you can't take a good bit of heat you won't be able to handle even the weakest one. Definitely worth checking out.

Waiters: decent, maybe understaffed Food: well seasoned, decent portions Cost: it's a little on the pricey side and average dish is $14-18$ Bathrooms: adequate but single person only. Interior ambience is awesome. It kinda has a Mexican vineyard/casita sorta vibe. It being so unassuming from the outside I'd never stop by before this time and can say I am pleasantly surprised by the interior, the front entrance is a little cramped, but has some Mexican tropical plant vibes going on, with some pretty interesting plants. Although spiky, so be watchful of the kiddos. Pleasantly surprised by the decor as the outside is pretty lame. Upon entry, you greeted with a delightful aroma, which is always a plus in a restaurant, a good sign that the food is going to be tasty! The bad: The chips and salsa are not bottomless. The salsa is extremely watery and very hard to eat. Although the flavor is really good you have to sip or drink it to find that out as the seasoning is in the liquid. It really defeats the purpose of chips and salsa if you ask me and I am pretty annoyed by that. It's also not very shareable friendly that way. But if you want the easiest eating experience with it with the full flavor of the salsa broth I t's easier to take a drink of salsa and then eat a chip, again pretty annoying. The beans are also on the loose side almost watery, the color is unappetizing, but flavor is decent, you can taste the lard I believe and it is well salted, sticks to the chip a whole lot easier than the salsa at the very least. Less flavorful than the salsa though. The price, $28 plus tip for the Molcajete dish I felt wasn't necessary worth it. It was big enough to share but it felt more like a $19-20 dish than an almost $30 one. We called ahead of time and they basically couldn't understand what we were saying, English Spanish barrier. The good: Lemon slice for water was very generous, usually that's a skimpy item, not sure if that was a fluke or not. They have the good sonic style ice as well! The ambiance was nice. Delicious food. We had the Molcajete. The sizzling Molcajete stays hot the whole meal. A combination of well seasoned chorizo, chicken, beef, shrimp, onions and peppers swimming in their juices, the flavor of the chorizo permeating throughout the dish. It had a well seasoned great flavor and the meats were all tender and not overcooked. It also came with grilled green onions and grilled cactus, which both were a delight. There was 8 tortillas and two of us eating, just enough for one taco of each meat and plenty left over for combining with the beans and rice, Probably the best pico around, a little heavier on the cilantro than most places, your mileage may very. Although you don't get a ton of meat for what you are paying for. Just a taste of each for two basically. The side plate of guac, pico, rice and beans was on the light side for sharing. Overall I would go back and give it another try.
