I came as a party of 5, by the end of our dinning experience there were 13 cups on our table leaving us no room to even box our food. Multiple employees came by our table and not once offered to clear things out for us. We were greeted and seated upon entry at about 3:45 pm on a Saturday. Our server took our order and brought our water. My Grandson ordered the Brisket Quesadillas with a side of French fries. He asked for the jalapeños to be on the side. I commend the kitchen because his order was correct. The French Fries did not come out with the Quesadillas. They were piping hot when they did come out. He said he would order this again because it was so good. I had the Bottomless Chips, Potato Soup and Caesar Salad Combo. We enjoyed the chips and salsa while our food was being prepared. I ordered through door dash. They didn't give the doordasher my complete order( left out an entire meal). I called them, they put me on hold for 20 minutes to talk to a manager. Then the employee that answered the phone got back on the phone and told me to call back in what would have been an hour and a half later that night. I said I can't do that and that my family has been already waiting to sit down and eat Saturday dinner for over an hour, and then they told me they aren't responsible for doordash incomplete orders and abruptly put me on hold again and then the phone hung up on me while I was on hold. Some don't realize this but the restaurant is responsible by law as they are the ones who write the receipt for the food and have the health inspections required to make/serve/package the food. The restaurant is ultimately responsible for the order being made/served/packed complete, not the doordasher. I called back and was then handed off to a manager. He said the same thing the first person I talked to said and then literally said "we are busy" and "to come up there" and he said this in a shockingly aggressive way. Not only did his aggressive tone take me by surprise but I have two disabled family members at home so driving across town at night is not an option and as such I know the law and that when you order takeout, it is the restaurant's responsibility regardless if uber, or doordash, or inhouse delivery; the restaurant is required to complete the order or if impossible to complete to initiate a process to refund the payment/order difference. He (the manager) then told me over the phone that "we won't refund and we won't complete the order" because he "is busy". I replied to him that "It isn't my desire to be litigious but this is theft. Do I actually have to take a recording of what you have said and file a police report?" The manager then abruptly said, " I don't respond to threats" and hung up on me. I called back and asked what is going on? At this point I was concerned that I was just talking to some "new employee" this whole time and they were "hazing the new guy" at both of our expense. What I was being told by them so absurd that I thought I was being pranked. I asked whoever it was that answered the phone this third time calling, "why the manager did that" and was told by that person that they are "extremely busy" and was passed off to another employee who then hung up on me mid sentence without me even able to get a question out. Anyway, I gave up, my family had what was in the incomplete order and I'm going to bed without eating dinner. It was all just so heartless and unnecessarily mean. What is the World coming to? It really was just an awful feeling to be treated that way and to lose money on what I thought was going to be a nice little Saturday dinner. I don't even want to file a report and risk this feeling of being so discarded to get worse than it already is. I just want to go to bed forget the experience but I thought I should write a review while it is fresh on my mind to let people know that we have got to start treating each other better. We have got to be kind to strangers again. Sometimes even what seems to be passing dismissiveness or simple disregard for eachother can be really much more hurtful to people than we realize. If this review reaches anyone at any place of business or any customers for that matter, I hope it gives folks a brief pause and think a little bit longer on how we treat each other. No matter how frustrating and busy life and/or work can be, kindness towards others is the easiest way to being happier in our own lives. I don't think that's just something I subscribe to. I think that is in all of us but folks are starting to forget it more and more these days. I've just noticed this general dismissiveness and pettiness towards others is happening everywhere these days. When it happens out of nowhere at a basic, cookie cutter, super-corporate training restaurant chain like a Chili's???Well, ya gotta say something, right??? ... Okidoke, to cap off a long review, this might be something going on in society that's bigger than a manager or employee or whomever I was talking to over the phone tonight having a rough night at work and taking it out on others by taking my money acting like a jerk to a to me, ya know? I have never had a problem when I visited Chili's. Today was different. Today we had issues with cleanliness, waiting for drinks, and the time to get our food. We asked the hostess to wipe down the table because the table was very dirty with food and crumbs. Even after she wiped it down I had to fully wipe it down myself. And it took forever for the rest of our drinks to be brought to us. We will not be back for a while. Went to this Chili's location in Florence, Alabama, upon entering we were advised the air conditioning wasn't working, its Alabama and its July so we knew it would be warm , but we were hungry, so we said ok, we will give it a shot! I had the Half slab of Ribs and an appetizer of Texas cheese fries, other's in my group had the Margarita chicken and the 8 once sirloin. The Food was excellent, best Ribs I've had in awhile! The service was great, I would not hesitate to go back. But it would be nice if Chili's corporate would fix their Air! I could see this hurting their business, it's pretty warm in Alabama in July and August. Because of the air that's the only reason I did not give them a 5 star rating. So much better! After our last visit I was nervous going back but so glad we did. I received a letter with a gift card from Mary Jo, Guest Engagement team; me, my husband & son went for a late lunch. Marnesha was our server & so fantastic! I'm 40yrs old & she asked for I.d after I ordered a margarita, which made my day. We placed our order, which she didn't write down to my son's amusement but she got 100% correct. He did the 3 $10 deal & we did 2 $25. They both got the chicken bacon quesadillas & I got the Cajun chicken pasta. I absolutely love the ceaser salad & my son loved his southwest soup. The entire meal was fantastic. I am sorry to say that this Chili's was not at all good. We waited for 30 minutes to be seated with tables and booths empty. There were several tables not bused. Empty tables means no money for you Chili's. It took an hour to get our main entrees. The chips and salsa were not good. Rubber chips do not eat very well. The waitress told us that the cook made the chips this morning. The manager was cooking the food due to people not working. This is inexcusable. Corporate needs to change what is going on. Managers should not be cooking. I foresee this place closing soon. If you need someone to come in and give leadership lessons to corporate I will be glad to do so. If people cannot get the picture they need to be let go. If you want to make money Chili's you need to make drastic changes. I've been a Chili's fan since '91. Have eaten at Chili's in many states, Singapore, etc, etc. Used to play polo with Norm Brinker and ate as his guest in Chili's for years, mostly in Plano, TX. I've been to multiple Chili's Cookoffs and events. I tell you all that to tell you I will never again step foot in the Chili's in Florence, Alabama, despite previous good experiences there. My wife and I rode there for dinner on my Triumph tonight. After being seated and removing our helmets and leathers, the waitress asked multiple times over the next five minutes what we wanted despite us asking for more time. We ordered two waters and asked her about Happy Hour, which the bartender who seated us said was "everywhere". My wife is a bartender, so it was a chance for her to drink while I "drove". She brought us their bar snack menu without a drink on it and had a definite attitude when we only ordered water and didn't want lemon. As a frequent diner, I've been in the Chili's rewards club through at least a handful of different cell phones, so probably a decade. The usual "Free Chips & Salsa" reward wasn't showing on my app, but I did have an unclaimed Free Appetizer. It only opened a big "Free Appetizer" text and did not list what exactly were the options, so we asked the waitress. She had no idea and told us we have to use the tablet kiosk and log in there. The Manager came behind her and told me to just click on the "Claim" button. I explained that I only wanted to claim the reward if it fit into our desired order. His response was "Well, I can't help you then." My wife walked up to him and asked if he was the Manager. He confirmed. She told him "You suck". What can I say. She was hungry, wanted a drink, and was planning on spending $30-40 bucks. I was also intending to come Sunday for football based on the table topper promo I saw. We left. He proceeded to stand behind the closed front door and glare at us the whole time we geared up and rode away, like we were Hell's Angels intent on throwing hand grenades at the restaurant while we keyed his car. My wife thinks he was trying to get our license plate down, bolting out the door as we pulled out. What an idiotic excuse for a Manager. A shame. I'm sorry, Norm. Me and my daughter ate here today and we got bacon chicken ranch quesadilla and a house salad. It tasted really good but about 10 minutes after I ate I started cramping and feeling nauseous and having terrible gas pains from my stomach to my chest it was awful!! I got home and hour later and drank some pepto and I felt better then I find out later tonight my daughter had been nauseous and she was still cramping and feel bad 6 hours later!! I had the quesadillas and they were burnt with overcooked chicken and cheese. The lettuce and pico were not even close to fresh. How hard is it to make a quesadilla? Management here must really suck. But also couldn't sit at a table because they were short staffed and only had one waitress and a bartender.... But three employees were sitting down in the blocked off area and it took the hostess a while to even notice us and get up and come over there. Also the restaurant was extremely dead which makes complete since considering how garbage the customer service has become at this chili's. I have been to this chili's a few times over the course of 3-4 months and they have been around the same time, around 8-9 o'clock at night. Each time myself and friends have waited 10 minutes or more just to be seated or see any employee to seat us. After we do get seated the service is still very nice but it's still 30 minutes or more for food. The main reason for my rating is one occurrence I had was I cane in with a party of 6 and we were never seated or looked at for 20 minutes at the door.
