Chicken enchilada soup & a big Blue Moon
    Deniece W.

This Chili's is located in MSY near gate C4. There is a decent amount of both bar and table seating. There are outlets at your seat for you to charge your electronics pre-flight. They don't give you a menu here, you have to pull it up with a QR code. They offer familiar Chili's favorites, like fajitas, chips & salsa, guacamole, or queso, burgers, chicken sandwiches and tenders, soups, and salads. Ordering at the bar is a bit strange. First, the bartender has to "turn on" your tab in their POS. If you're only drinking, you're supposed to order & pay online. If you're drinking and eating, you check out with the bartender. The food & drinks were actually pretty good and reasonably portioned without being terribly expensive for airport fare.

Shouldn't take 45+ minutes to cook this up smh

On 1/3/25 at 3:05pm I ordered a Chicken Sandwich with fries via scanning their QR code located at the bar. While I was waiting, I bought a water. The African American lady with short red and black hair rung me up for $8. I told her nevermind after I realized how expensive a water was. She gave me an attitude and said "I ALREADY RUNG YOU UP" and threw a fit. I told her I'm not paying $8 for a bottled water. As I continued to wait for my food, I saw another family buy the same water but this time it showed up as $3?! I told the lady nevermind about then food (it has been past 45 minutes) and I want a refund. She said ok and mumbled she'll get someone to get me a refund. I waited for several minutes and I can see she's working in the kitchen (moving hella slow by the way) while I was waiting to be helped. She finally comes back to the register and I follow up for a refund. She finally gets the employee who can give me a refund. Food was never prepared and no apologies. It should be noted that the staff and the lady gave me pretty ugly looks the entire time I was waiting (I was waiting pretty patiently and I'm not confrontational). Being a minority in Louisiana (I'm Filipino-Asian) I can't help but think that is the reason why I received the service (or lack thereof). I hope Corporate investigates this matter and the staff that work here because this is not acceptable.

Worst service possible. Every single person working there refused to help two separate customers place a to go order.

Sat down immediately, they had the football games on tv and the outside area was jam packed with kids at a family event. I also never took a chance to admire the wall art, the flowers were a standout. I did notice a lot of tables were pretty dirty and could use a wipe down; I also noticed our table wasn't exactly sparkling either. The waitress basically told us she was burnt out - she was human and down to earth. Spoiler: she was excellent! Chips and salsa came out. Worth noting the first one had a sweeter taste and the second had a spicier taste. Some may call this inconsistent, but I saw it as a sign that it's homemade. Additionally we ordered a SMALL guacamole, and the small is massive. Tasty, full bodied, my only gripe is that I wish it was a bit chunkier on the avocado end. I ordered the smoked chicken smothered burrito and this thing was gigantic. Partner ordered poblanos with smoked pork. Both dishes are a super generous portion and delicious. Big thing here: I think between the meats and the smoked pinto beans it's worth noting that it blurs the line between its own identity and its sister restaurant of CCBBQ. This is NOT a bad thing, as the smokier flavor profile gives this Tex-Mex a unique angle. May I suggest a smoked salsa of sorts?? Only real miss was that we ordered a side of street corn; while it looked the part and was totally loaded up, it was utterly bland. Tough to accomplish this with street corn, I'm curious what could have gone wrong especially given that it looked beautiful. Two sodas, an appetizer, two entrees, and a bonus side dish came out to $59. I find this to be right on par! I will admit, the alcohol is way overpriced, I've noticed from my other visits. I only drink when it's taco Tuesday/happy hour. But for the price of a non-alcoholic, FULL course lunch, it's perfect. Been back before, and I'll be back again. Great job LC.

We will be back. The lunch menu is a real deal with our selections today costing $10 each.

A few years ago I had been to La Tia in Metairie, and it left a serious impression. What stuck with me most were the craft cocktails...creative, clever, and a little bit mischievous. I still remember one in particular: a Mexican-inspired cocktail with mezcal and beet juice that somehow managed to taste like summer decided to take a vacation south of the border. It was the kind of drink that makes you pause mid-sip and say, "Okay... whoever thought of this deserves a raise." Somehow the place drifted off my radar over time. But when the craving for Mexican food hit, it popped right back into my head. I was excited to bring my son and daughter-in-law since they had never been. Unfortunately... the reunion didn't exactly go as planned. Two things hit me immediately while looking over the menu. First: the craft cocktails were gone. Not "different." Not "updated." Just... gone. Replaced with the same drinks you see in every other Mexican restaurant. Second: the prices nearly made me spit out the water I hadn't even ordered yet. $6 for a Corona. $18 for a basic burrito with fries. $10 for a kids plate over chicken tenders and some fries. And not the old La Tia burritos either...the ones I remembered piled high with rich molé, bright verde sauces, and layers of flavor that made you wonder if you should be taking notes. Nope. Now we're talking about a plain flour tortilla with some ground meat inside, no sauce, and a side of what looked suspiciously like freezer-aisle French fries. For eighteen dollars. My daughter-in-law ordered the fajitas, and honestly... they were rough. Thin strips of overcooked meat that looked like they had taken a brief vacation in a plastic bag before hitting the grill...served on a plate. Lately I've gotten into the habit of pulling up Yelp photos to compare dishes from past years, and I did exactly that. I found a photo of the same fajitas from about three years ago...big, juicy steak pieces, sizzling on cast iron and full of life. What we got looked like it came from a completely different restaurant. To be fair, my shrimp tacos were actually pretty good. Nicely cooked shrimp, decent flavor, and probably the lone bright spot of the night. But overall, it felt like the La Tia I loved had quietly packed up and left the building. The elevated Mexican food? Gone. The rich sauces? Gone. The inventive cocktails that made the bar worth sitting at? Also gone. In their place: food that feels pulled from a bag... at prices that feel pulled from a luxury menu. It's a tough thing when a restaurant you once loved loses its spark. But sadly, this visit felt less like a reunion and more like running into an old friend who has completely changed--and not for the better. As much as I hate to say it, I don't see myself returning to La Tia anytime soon. Turns out the only thing that stayed spicy... was the price tag.

On our last visit the fajitas were incredibly salty and we did not even finish them. Well, THEY ARE BACK! I am very happy to say this! We went there last week and had the chicken and steak fajitas and they were incredible once again. Great flavor, well seasoned, cooked to perfection. I have one big complaint, however, and it has something to do with their supplier. In my wife's and my opinion, the shells they provide to you for the fajitas are an absolute joke. Taco Bell's shells are larger. Every other Mexican food restaurant I have gone to are larger. Really, guys, I don't want to hear about your supplier, I could not care less and really do not want excuses. Then, the bartender has the Gaul to tell us that they are designed more for pushing than making a fajita! DO NOT tell me how to eat my meal and do not come up with such a poor excuse. This place has great Margaritas. Donnie is an incredible chef putting out the best Fajitas in the city! Once I ordered, the food and drinks came out quickly. The 'unlimited' mimosas actually cap at 5, which is fine, but the mix they use cheapens the drink, and the glasses weren't the cleanest. The birria and grits were good (about a 7/10), though I think the pre-shredded Mexican blend cheese on top took away from the dish. A traditional white cheese would have worked better. The birria tacos were tasty, though. The bathrooms could use attention as there were no paper towels, which makes me wonder what employees do after washing their hands. Overall, it was a good experience and definitely cost-efficient. With a few tweaks to the drinks and presentation, this place could easily go from a 3-star to a 4- or 5-star brunch spot. I'll be back to try the tacos and check out the unlimited margaritas.

This building might be considered by some a shack, and it certainly is a bar. However, it also serves up some amazing food. There are a great variety of sandwiches, wraps, salads, plates, and appetizers! I like that the sandwiches can be customized with sides. One can swap out regular fries for sweet potato fries, or there are really great and crispy tater tots! One can even opt for a bowl of gumbo or soup! Some of these changes involve a slight up-charge, but are worth it. Speaking of the soups and gumbos, these are really great choices. I happened to be there when French Onion Soup was part of the daily special, and it was amazing! Had a great big toasty chuck of bread with cheese on top, and the soup was rich and delicious. Their gumbo is a substantial choice, with great and deep flavors. I also recommend their BLT, which pairs well with a bowl of soup. The waitstaff is friendly and helpful and the prices are fair.
