Chili's vs. Millers. Chili's Wins by a Dave!!
This feedback tackles two reviews in one. Millers Steakhouse and Chili's, both in Champions Gate, FL. You will see the way this is written, this works out well.
To make this work, I need to issue an "Edgar the Bar Waiter" warning. Edgar works as a waiter at the Millers Steakhouse bar. I'm using the word "works" generously. Stay away. Let's talk about what happened with Edgar by comparing and contrasting. Edgar vs. Other Millers staff wait staff, and neighboring Chili's Bar and Grille (where I went after I paid for my iced tea at Millers and departed.) Both experience I sat at the bar, so apples to apples.
Edgar Greeting: No eye contact, barely stopped, took my drink order, and as I was saying I was ready to order ... he walks away with a little head nod. He heard me, he just did not want to use English on this one. Maybe he was tweaked because I ordered iced tea.
Others staff at Millers (there were a number of very good wait staff). Great with the other customers there. I was jealous.
Chili's: Sat down, immediately greeted by David. He asked me my name. Nice firm voice, very friendly, and a smile. And through the dinner, he remembered my name.
Edgar Place Settings: none. Just me and the bar, mano y Mano.
Meanwhile, other customers who were eating at the Millers bar got from the other wait staff a 1. plate, 2. napkins, and as a bonus, 3. utensils.
Chili's Place Setting: After saying yes to "will you be dining with us," in one motion, the straw and utensils came in a brown packet, along with a napkin. Winner winner chicken dinner!
Edgar Food Service. Others around me got their food, and they were seated a decent time after I was. Two steaks even came out before my salad and pepperoni flatbread. And those folks got there after I did. That is when I decided, Edgar probably did not put my order in.
Chili's: Within 10 minutes, Caribbean Salad was here. They held back the sandwich until I was done with the salad. When the food came, each time, the person who I was not introduced to called me by my first name. Actually, that has never happened before. Really makes this comparison unfair. But remember, I went to Millers first, so they had their shot without competition.
Now, I have not eaten at Millers before. I was trying. I assume their food is a little better than just iced tea. Certainly the atmosphere was prettier than Chili's. But Edgar killed it ... just killed it, and not in a good way. I don't know his "deal." I think he is naturally a tool. Regardless, he should be dealing elsewhere.
I wish I could share with you about a new restaurant for me called Millers. But in this case, Chili's was an excellent experience. One star for Millers because that is the minimum needed to post reviews. Chili's was a 5 star experience. In fairness to Millers ... the other waitress and waiter were VERY nice to their customers. read more
