First time trying Tijuana, Chicken Rice bowl the avocado isn't fresh like chipotle that was disappointing you could definitely taste that it comes prepackaged. The chips the meal came with were stale & very greasy. It was decent. The queso was good.

I don't get in here often enough but I always get a good meal when I do. It's been a while but it was Taco Tuesday and I decided I wanted tacos. I pulled up the app and checked out what they had available these days. I was surprised to see carnitas as one of the options and I figured why not give it a try. A lot has changed in how things are sent to the pandemic and I can really see where they have downsized what they give you. There are a lot fewer chips with an order than there used to be but still plenty by my standards. The tacos themselves while fairly disappointing to look at actually tasted really great. When I arrived at the location to get my meal they were completely empty as it was the middle of the afternoon. I walked over where the pickup area is and nobody even realized that I was there. After a few moments I walk around the front of the counter and there was one person sitting there just playing on their phone. I had to get their attention to find out about my order which was sitting over on the counter rather than in the pickup section. I grabbed some extra hot sauce from the hot sauce bar and headed back to my car. The restaurant itself looked pretty much like it always has and everything appeared to be clean. I really enjoy the interiors of their restaurants as the decorations are always pretty amazing. Usually people that work in their restaurants are fairly attentive and friendly. I'm assuming what I encountered was just because it was a dead point in the day and no one was paying any attention.

We stay in the champions gate area once a year for vacations. We have tried every restaurant in this area multiple times but for some reason never tried this place until last night. Wow!! What have we been waiting for?? My family did pick up and each of us ordered a "bowl" and we all shared dos tacos. We all tried and LOVED the steak bowls, shrimp bowls and my favorite the carnitas bowls. Very tender and flavorful. I highly recommend! Tacos are also great. I'm a huge fan of the fresh Jalapeños and avocados on all our meals. They also sent us home with a huge bag of chips that we will definitely be eating on all week. We will definitely be back!

Hoped in to grab a quick dinner as neither of us felt like cooking dinner. This location seems to always disappoint, not sure why we come back. It started with having to wait 45 minutes for the togo order. Then when we get home we both comment about how small the burritos are. Mine was supposed to come with all their toppings. It had one single jalapeno slice and about 4 pieces of chopped onion and 5 little shreds of lettuce. Needless to say we were yet again not impressed with this location.

As someone from San Diego, CA I was excited to see a restaurant named Tijuana Flats.... then I saw Tex Mex and was confused.... I am married to a Texan who states that real Tex Mex doesn't exist outside of Texas.... As a Californian I LOVE my Mexican food, not Tex Mex, but my family and I gave Tijuana Flats a shot anyways. I chose a chimichanga because I've had those at numerous taco shops and restaurants and figured it was a safe bet. Boy was I wrong! I managed to eat half and then decided this isn't worth the calories. To be honest, I'm really picky about food but when my less picky family members stated how bad their food was, I decided to write a review as a warning to others coming from out of state! This restaurant is having an identity crisis as it is neither Mexican nor Tex Mex. Be forewarned! Giving 2 stars for the cool artwork

Stale chips and burrito megajuana disappointment

When tacobell is better... there is a problem. For a $15 burrito I'm expecting a homemade style tortilla, not a store bought one. The chips tasted like they were from last weeks batch. Their salsa was terrible. I was so dissatisfied with this burrito... I downloaded yelp and made a review. Take my advice. Go to tacobell.

We were looking for a good, local Tex-Mex joint... and didn't find one. When we walked in, we got pretty excited about the joint. It had a lot of extremely amazing artwork, funky decorations, and a Hot Bar. Unfortunately, the food was a big letdown, the entrees we got were either bland AF, greasy AF, or just sad AF. I ordered the Chimichanga, a lightly fried tortilla, with your choice of chicken ($10), beef ($10), steak ($11), or beans ($10) with melted cheese and topped with sour cream. It had no flavor--it was boiled chicken with no sauces or salsa inside. Of course, you could go to the Hot Bar and load up on sauces, but then you're locked into a spicy meal. The kids ordered the Dos Tacos, two hard corn or soft tortillas, with your choice of chicken ($10), beef ($10), steak ($11), or beans ($10) with lettuce, tomatoes, and shredded cheese. This had a lot of grease that poured out by the end of it all and the kids liked it OK. They also got the Burrito, your choice of chicken ($10), beef ($10), steak ($11), or veggies ($9) with cilantro lime rice, refried or black beans, in a tortilla. And this one was just sad--barely any filling. Overall, I'm not sure if it was just a bad visit, with poor meal prepping, or if this is the typical experience. I would not dissuade anyone from coming here, but make sure you ask for extra sauce and/or salsa for some semblance of flavor.

    2 for $20 Monday's!
    Daphney D.

2 for $20 Monday's is the perfect excuse to grab Tijuana Flats on a Monday before you hit it hard on Taco Tuesday. Expect to wait if you do order on Monday, as many people also take advantage of the deal. 2 for $20 brings 2 medium drinks, 1 appetizer, and 2 entrees. Ordered to-go at 8pm (1 hour before closing) and was not expecting a line outside of the door! Had no idea how popular this location would be. Champions Gate is smaller than SoDo, but much busier. I didn't catch the employees name, but the gentleman with the multi-colored (blue-ish dyed) hair was killing it. Taking orders, in the kitchen, and handling to-go orders for a packed house. Shoutout to him for absolutely crushing it! Signature Gold queso is a must.

There was only one other group (who already had their food) and it took 30 minutes to get ours. So slow. The restaurant was clean, had good music and the food was good once we finally got it but the wait is ridiculous. I'd hate to see it when it is busy... We got chips and Queso but most of the chips were inedible and not cooked or super oily, just not good. The person bringing out the food screamed our name which seems really unnecessary with only one other table here and they already had their food so by order of elimination he should have been able to tell it was ours. Dude made me jump lol

$25 (including tip) for a burrito, chips and drink. And I had to go chase down my food after a 10 min wait (6 people in the whole place). Terrible spot

    Lunch!
    Sandy S.

Tijuana Flats the the perfect spot for lunch and an annual visit before I head to my conference at The Omni at Championsgate. I love the bowl with black beans, rice, lettuce, tomatoes, sour cream, jalepenos, and guacamole. I also enjoy a side of queso and some chips - perfect lunch! And, they have Yuenling on tap, too! Perfect!

Wtf kind of chimi is this?!

I wish i could give 0 ZERO 0 stars! This place was trash! Waited an hour for a flat ass chimichanga and whole ass order for my fam. Meanwhile someone walked in ordered and got their order within 5 min! Got the order home and it was disgusting! Please avoid!!

We usually go to Agave Azul when we're in Orlando and I truly didn't think anything could top it...yeah, I was wrong. First off, it's tucked into this cute little neighborhood spot, which already gave it charm. But the FOOD? Next level. We started with the queso fundido and let me tell you...it was an experience. It came out in a lava rock with chorizo, melty cheese, and corn tortillas on the side. Oooo weee...that alone could've been my whole meal. So rich, flavorful, and just chef's kiss. I ordered the trio fajitas and I'm still thinking about them. Who knew fajitas could have that much flavor?! Everything was seasoned perfectly, juicy, and just hit every note. My husband got the molcajete and when I say the flavors were going crazy...wow. We were both just sitting there like "yeah, this is it." I literally did a happy dance. Of course I had to get a bubbly rose...my favorite...and it paired perfectly with everything. This place completely exceeded my expectations. I would come here a thousand times and I'm not even being dramatic. Still thinking about it lol.

Disclaimer: this review is for the lunch buffet only…read more I went with my family to try the $18.49 all you can eat lunch buffet. This was my first time experiencing a buffet for hispanic food and for this price point in Orlando, this is an amazing value deal. The server regularly brought us out silverware, napkins, and refilled our water. The place is decorated very fun and plays latin music which was lovely Not only was there an unlimited assortment of lunch foods, but an entire bar of fresh toppings for tacos (or rice bowls) and made to order desserts which were included for free! Not everything on the buffet line was the best but given the amount of options, price, and how good the great items are this is still worth a five star rating. I unfortunately did not take pictures of the food before I began devouring everything in sight to the point of near-collapse, but I will do a quick rundown of the buffet highlights: The best meats were the fajita steak, chicken, and shrimp made fresh in cast iron skillets, as well as the chicken lengua which was super flavorful and tender. The mexican rice, beans, fajitas, plantains, and street corn were also excellent. Fresh quesadillas, chips, and corn tortillas on standby with homemade queso and salsas. The flan and mini churros were the best I've ever had. Super rich, decadent Carmel flan. Mini churros hot and crisp on the outside, filled with a gooey soft milk chocolate center. They were delicious. Items that were disappointing: the tamales, mini chicken flautas, and beef chimichangas were just okay, lacking the seasoning and flavor that other dishes had. The beef barbacoa was not as tender or flavorful as the shredded chicken surprisingly. The mixed seafood was itself a mixed bag with some shrimps / scallops overcooked to much while others were perfectly cooked. The chicken mole and beef tri tip were room temperature despite sitting on hot plates. The tri tip also varied widely in doneness throughout the slices and not super tender. The rice pudding was pretty standard, and the tres leches cake was weird as they crumbled the cake into pieces before soaking it.

1/5 STARS -- PLEASE READ BEFORE GOING…read more I've been to MANY Mexican/Spanish restaurants in my life, and unfortunately, this place deserves 1 star from me. This review is based on my experience on August 9, 2026, so this is one of the most recent reviews you can find. The food was okay. I would honestly give it about a 3/10. Some things had little to no flavor, and some of the food tasted like it had been sitting out for a while. The fried plantains were especially soggy. Overall, the food was missing seasoning and freshness. But the BIGGEST problem was the communication and the employee serving us. My family of 5 went because we wanted a nice Spanish/Mexican place to eat. We saw all the positive reviews, so we decided to try it. The problem started when we were ordering. WE WERE NEVER TOLD THAT WE COULD ONLY CHOOSE ONE SINGULAR TYPE OF MEAT, ONE SINGULAR TYPE OF RICE, AND ONE SINGULAR TYPE OF SALAD. Nobody explained that choosing a little bit of another meat would automatically be considered an entire extra serving. We chose ribs and chicken, and we also wanted to try another meat. And when I say TRY, I mean TRY. We did NOT want a full serving. We didn't even want an actual piece of the meat. WE ONLY WANTED TO TASTE THE JUICE FROM THE MEAT. That's it. And we were still charged the FULL $4 PRICE for "extra meat." If I'm paying the FULL PRICE for the meat, then just give me the chicken! The frustrating part is that nobody told us beforehand that even wanting a small taste of another meat would cost an additional $4. If the employee had simply said, "You can only choose one type of meat, and anything else is an additional $4," we would have understood and made our decision. Instead, we were told nothing and were charged afterward. When we tried to explain ourselves, the employee was not very understanding. She came across as rude and dismissive, and instead of simply explaining the policy to us, it felt like we were being blamed for not understanding something that was never communicated to us in the first place. A little communication and kindness would have gone a LONG way. We also ordered lemonade, which my family ALWAYS gets. One lemonade was $6, which is honestly ridiculous to me. Our total for 5 people was around $110. On top of that, there was an automatic 15% gratuity/service charge. I understand restaurants have policies, but PLEASE communicate these charges and rules clearly BEFORE customers order. This isn't just about the $4. It's about the fact that we were never told the rules, we were charged for something we didn't understand was considered "extra," and then we were treated poorly when we tried to ask about it. Unfortunately, this restaurant has lost my family as customers. We will not be coming back. The food was okay, but for the price, the service, and especially the lack of communication, it was NOT worth it. Overall: 1/5 If you're reading reviews before deciding whether to come here, I hope this helps. This is my honest experience from August 9, 2026.

I was seated quickly, the staff was very friendly, and the food came out incredibly fast. 5 stars for the service and nice environment! Unfortunately, the food execution fell short. I ordered the carne asada street tacos, which were heavily over-salted. The sides also missed the mark: the rice was quite dry with several uncooked, hard grains mixed in, and the refried beans felt more like a dense clump of mashed beans rather than a smooth, traditional style. I really appreciate how welcoming and efficient the staff was, but the kitchen needs to dial back the salt and focus more on the execution of the staple dishes.

Food: 3.5/5 Service: 3.5/5…read moreManagement: 1/5 The food was okay. I have definitely had worse, but it is not on the same level as Don Julio's or Azteca. The biggest issue is staffing and management. This was my third visit, and each time the restaurant has felt understaffed. I understand Cinco de Mayo is going to be busy, but that is also something management should plan for. Even on a normal dinner night, service has suffered because there does not seem to be enough staff working. The service bartender was honestly impressive. She was knocking out drinks as fast as she could, but she was clearly set up to fail. The restaurant had a full bar, a bar window serving the patio, and some sort of make-your-own margarita setup or gimmick, but only one bartender was left to handle it all. She was in the weeds the entire time with no visible help from management. During the visit, the manager seemed more focused on putting things on the TVs than helping the team or addressing obvious service issues. It gives the impression that the restaurant is being run on a skeleton crew to protect profit margins, but it is coming at the expense of the customer experience and the employees trying to keep up. Overall, the food is decent, but the management and staffing issues make it hard to recommend.

Thank you for your portions, consistency, creamy jalapeno, and Boom-Boom Sauce. Let's get into it, this casual sit down has its roots in Austin, TX. Peruse the menu while you fight the temptation to polish off a basket of their chips and salsa and Creamy Jalapeno Sauce and, speaking of the menu, it is the same here as it is back home. My go-to's include the Big As Yo Face Burrito (bean and cheese) smothered in Boom-Boom Sauce, Guacamole Soft Tacos, the Veggie Enchiladas, and when I am feeling real big back that Chuychanga (also always smothered in Boom-Boom Sauce. Chuy's has not only a great drink menu but full bar if their options are not your speed. Side note that they do not offer draft beer, but do have a selection of bottles and cans. Service has always been reliable as has the food quality. If there is a wait, you can join the wait list remote via the Chuy's website. Chuy's scratches that TexMex itch whenever we need it or an easy to get to option whenever we are leaving Disney's Animal Kingdom or Hollywood Studios. Gracias Chuy's and see ya real soon.

The cheese relleno was delicious! Nice crispy coating with plenty of cheese filling in the pepper. Enchilada was also good, but needed some additional sauce as the chicken was a bit dry. Casual ambiance on the patio, which was dog friendly, exactly what we were looking for. The only thing holding my rating back was the service unfortunately. We had to ask several times for water refills, additional sauces, and napkins before they were brought. Overall the food was great, but the service could be improved. Would like to try again sometime soon.
