We love Childtime Brea. My son attended here for about a year when he was 3/4 and my daughter has been attending since she was 3 months old and she's 2.5 now! All her teachers have been exceptional especially Ms. Michelle, Ms. Samantha, Ms. Melissa (thank you for fixing her hair ) and now Ms. Halley. The facility itself is newer with friendly staff, the AD and director always welcome us and say hello, other teachers smile and will greet my little one by name. It truly feels like a community. We've been at ChildTime for many years with our two kids from baby room all the way up to TK level rooms. We've been really happy with our experience, our kids are really excited to go and well cared for. My older kiddo just started kindergarten this year and she was ahead of the game with math and reading skills thanks to small group learning at ChildTime! My son has food allergies and they do an amazing job making sure he's safe and included. I know I can trust them! We love that they include families as much as possible and plan lots of neat experiences for the kids at the school. The app has always worked really well, and we get pictures and updates all day long. Our favorite teachers have been Ms Sienna, Ms Florence, Ms Kayla, Ms Lauren, Ms Liz, Ms Lisa ... and honestly everyone we've met. The staff Ms Bri and Ms Becky and Ms Rocky are so caring and helpful. My daughter started going to Childtime of Brea at 6 months old and has completely flourished. I know she wouldn't be at the point she is without all the great staff at this daycare. Miss Sienna was one of her first teachers and is still always asking about Charlie even though she's moved up to a different room. The care they give my baby makes me feel so secure going to work and having her at daycare throughout the day. The director, Miss Becky, and assistant director, Miss Bri, are always planning fun events for all the kids, even taking seasonal photos for the parents to take home. The attention to detail these woman put in their job makes the world of difference. Everyday my daughter comes to daycare she smiles as soon as we turn in to the parking lot. If you are a new parent and need a daycare for your baby/child, but not sure where to go, DO NOT HESITATE, and bring them to Childtime of Brea! You will not be disappointed! read more

I'm not really in the business of writing reviews so if I write one I have been either inspired or grossly disappointed. The staff at Childtime has been very reassuring and inspiring. It was really tough leaving our girl the first time, but the staff made sure our girl was ok and that I I was leaving her in good hands. She made friends and we noticed a substantial improvement in her communication. Now she's excited to go to school and see her friends I don't do drop off as often as my wife so I only remember a Ms.Elizabeth and I think Becky was in the main office. My son attended ChildTime for two years until he was effectively disenrolled (more on that later). Around three months after he started we started getting reports about him pushing, hitting, biting and/or throwing things in rooms 3 and 4. We'd often have to sign an "incident report" for something that happened. This would continue in different classrooms with lulls here and there until his last week. We rarely would get information on what prompted or preceded the aggression in our son -- in other words, they were being reactive and not proactive once this problem emerged. During most of my son's time at ChildTime he had Elizabeth as his lead teacher in both room 5 and 6. Elizabeth's "classroom management" style was mostly screaming at toddlers and it was honestly pretty disturbing to see when we'd be there at pickup or drop off. Clearly my son didn't respond well to that (who does?), so eventually what they started doing was sending him to Becky's (the director) office. We will never know what Becky did or said when our son got sent to her office but whatever it was it didn't help and likely made matters worse. We were eager to see what would happen if he moved up to a classroom with older kids and a teacher not named Elizabeth. This meant we wanted our son to move up to Room 7, the preschool room, so we got him potty trained and eventually he moved to Room 7 with Stephanie as his teacher. I will say Stephanie was very good and my son responded well to her. In fact, for the month or two she was his teacher he wasn't getting these dopey "incident reports" and we were so very happy. Stephanie was by no means a pushover -- she was firm but not a screamer like Elizabeth and that is what my son and most kids respond well to. My son clearly respected Stephanie, felt appreciated instead of outcasted in the classroom and as a result we were getting lots of compliments on how well he was doing. We noticed he was participating in circle time and activities a lot more. We were so very pleased with Stephanie but of course as our luck would have it she got promoted to assistant director and our son's last teacher would be her replacement, Kayla. For whatever reason, my son didn't respond well to Kayla. She wasn't a screamer and was quite nice but a young teacher who couldn't handle a child with some added behavioral needs and also quick-trigger resorted to sending him to the director's office. It became clear our son's relationship with Kayla was irreparable but we knew finding a new place for both my son and his little sister, who was doing well there, would be tough while working full time so we threw one more Hali Mary pass as an attempt to make it work at ChildTime. Eventually we were able to get approval for a behavior therapist to be with my son part time in the classroom. We very clearly told Becky all he was approved for was three days a week and four and a half hours a day, so she got us the paperwork and we got everything set up as quickly as we could. The behavior therapist would work with my son one-on-one and help him learn better ways to handle being denied access to toys and transitions. Now, here's how they essentially disenrolled our son from ChildTime: after a couple of weeks of working with the behavior therapist Becky suddenly realized there was a letter from their corporate ADA department that said that our son had to have an aide with him at all times. They were essentially asking for a full-time nanny to be there and do their job for them while they still get paid. This was, obviously, far from a reasonable request. The behavior therapist's supervisor even said there was no way our son would be approved for that many hours. In other words, Becky and her corporate overlords created a demand they knew we couldn't meet so we'd have no choice but to take him elsewhere and this way it doesn't count as them kicking out a kid with special needs. This is beyond shameful and Becky and everyone else involved in this should be embarrassed for how they pulled off kicking a three-year-old out of preschool while being able to officially say "we didn't kick him out, they withdrew his enrollment." Thankfully we were able to find a new preschool for my son and daughter. And it became clear in his first week that ChildTime was very much a big part of the problem. Our son is not having these incidents and even saying stuff like "I like my new school, it's fun" and "I miss my school" on a Saturday. The director at his new preschool even came and read books with him when he was a little hesitant to go into the classroom on his second or third day -- something Becky would NEVER do. So in summary, easily the biggest problem at ChildTime is Becky. She is unpleasant, unprofessional, generally incompetent and a snake. I'm sure if your child isn't a "behavior problem" you'll be fine since you won't really have to deal with her (that probably explains all the good reviews on here) but if they are, avoid ChildTime. read more

We have been so incredible happy with our experience at Childtime Brea. Becky has always been one to provide support, knowledge and guidance to her staff as well as to many families including my own. Our little one started in room 5 with Elizabeth and Hailey, both so kind and loving. They made attending school for our little one extremely easy as she would literally run to see them, give them hugs and take them fresh picked flowers weekly. Luckily enough Elizabeth moved up to room 6 with our little one, where she also had Mikali as part of her learning staff. Between the love and boundaries these two ladies provided our little exceled even more. We were bummed Mikali was moved but are thankful she is still providing excellent support, education and love to the children enrolled at Childtime Brea and thrilled she could still have Elizabeth with her daily. As our little one has now gone up a level and is in room 7 with Kayla, we are again thrilled that she again has been placed in such a great room. Kayla is kind, loving, patient and knowledgeable. She works great with the students in her class, and for that we are thankful. We enjoy all the activities that each teacher provides, all the arts and crafts, the book fairs, the amazing support staff that goes from room to room making sure each child is taken care of properly. We appreciate it so much that we will be enrolling another toddler into the program. Please know this is the first time we've ever had our immediate little ones not be taken care of be a family member and even though she received several pushes, hits, shoves from another student the care that her teachers and Becky gave her really made up for it all. read more

I discovered this place because of its proximity to my new job. My son went once a week to the school aged class during the summer and he absolutely loved it. He wanted to go here every day, instead of the summer care that his regular school provided. I hope to get him in here for next summer since he had such a good time. My child attended ChildTime for the first 5 years of his life and we've had the most amazing experience! We left after my son began kindergarten and leaving such an amazing school and staff was very difficult. From my son's very first day, the teachers & Director (Ms. Becky) treated us all with such love, care and compassion as ChildTime Brea. Ms. Becky was amazing from the start even when touring prior to enrolling. She was very warm and informative. I immediately felt like this was the school for my child. My child had a rough first day and Drop off was very hard...especially for me. His teacher, Ms.Bri was very kind and did everything she could to make sure my son felt safe and comforted. Ms. Becky also came in to comfort me as well, as I became very emotional. As my son grew comfortable, I started to receive reports and feedback about my child pushing, biting and hitting other children. It became a reoccurring issue and I began to grow worried my child would be dis-enrolled. After a conference with both his teachers and Ms. Becky, I felt very much at ease. They discussed with me Many strategies they are trying in the classroom and tips on how to continue these strategies at home. I felt as if i had a team that was fully invested in the best interest of my child. After about a month, these behaviors started to subside and I received such positive reports. My son Continued from the toddler class all the way to pre-k. He's learned so much and I have so much to thank all of ChildTime Brea for. My husband and I have 2 kids enrolled in ChildTime of Brea; one in infants and the other in preschool. We've attended a total of 2.5 years and so far we've had zero issues with the curriculum or staff. We wanted a daycare where we could keep a close eye on the kids and be informed throughout the day of how they are doing. As working parents, it gives us both peace of mind having access to cameras in each room where the kids are, and an app where teachers post about meals/naps/ potty's. The director, Ms Becky, does a great job managing the school and always has a positive attitude. Ms. Elizabeth, Ms. Makeyli, and Ms. Kayla have been a great help with our 3yo while he transitioned from toddlers to preschool. He was a late talker, but showed lots of progress and developmental growth while in their care. It's impressive the amount of dedication these ladies put into their work. We're even noticing the positive difference Ms Michelle, Ms Georgia and Ms Ashlie are making in my daughter's development during the short 5 months our daughter has attended. My oldest child started at childtime during pandemic (this was one of the few places remaining open during that time for essential workers) in room 3 and left by room 8. We left for private school for the remainder of her grade school years. She had amazing teachers (to name a few: Bri, Elizabeth, Kayla, Stephanie, Sam, and part time with Lisa/Nayelly). My daughter was a model child (for the most part) and therefore had no issues and loved her time at Childtime. My younger son began in room 1 as an infant and is a difficult child, to put it mildly. He had teachers be bonded with and others he didn't take to; additionally, he was delayed in speaking so that caused a lot of frustration from him. He loved ms sienna and ms Hayley). We took him out by room 5 as we committed to private school as well but turns out he couldn't be potty trained by me (again, he is stubborn and difficult) and I take him back part time now in room 6 with ms Elizabeth and ms hayley. He has eased his screaming and tantrum phase significantly and therefore much better attitude in class. All that being said is my son was difficult at home and daycare/class setting. I always felt compassion from all teachers who tried their best to ease his frustration. I always felt heard and the teachers/admin (ms Becky) having my children's best interests in mind. read more

It was a fairly nerve wracking experience choosing a day care provider for our child, but Ms. Becky and rest of the staff made us feel extremely comfortable with the staff, facilities and interactions. His teachers, Ms. Elizabeth, Ms. Mikaela, and Ms. Natalie take extremely good care of him and are quite open to discussing questions/concerns which I am sure they get a lot of from first time parents like myself. I love the facilities and I think my favorite part of my day is seeing a picture of my son smiling in his class. As a first time parent it helps me feel connected even when I am at work. After visiting several childcare and preschools, we chose this one finally and we are so glad that we made this super correct decision. The school is bright & neat with lawny playground, the stuff are so friendly & helpful. Our daughter has been coming to Childtime since she was just a few months old, and over the years, yes, there are available activities, like music classes or soccer lessons, yes, there are events, like the holiday music show, and yes, as the children grow, there are more academically inclined projects, but the most important thing to note is that the staff make the place. It's an odd thing, to entrust the care of your child to others, but the teachers and other staff at Childtime have become beloved members of an extended family for us, who know and cherish our daughter, her teacher from last year, Ms. Edna, her teachers this year, Ms. Lisa and Ms. Gabby, and the center's director, Ms. Becky, who has known our girl by name since she was just a few months old. My kids attended one year ago for about two years. The Director & most staff are great with taking care of my concerns & my little ones. I gave them three stars do to seeing more than three staff members being rude to toddlers.The kids looked miserable. My son told me how a staff member always yelled. You know what's the best feeling ever after dropping off your kids at a daycare?...it's hearing how happy they are, saying Goodbye without crying and when picking up, they are upset that you came for them already...lol Well that's my 3 kids that attend here. They absolutely Love it! We have been enrolled with this center for years now and it hasn't disappointed us yet. 18 months ago I gave birth to my pride and joy and having to go back to work was hard, but Child time staff made it so easy and I knew she was in good hands. She loves it. Not only do they have great teachers and directors, but what sold me 3 years ago was the cleanliness of the center. That is one of my top priorities, so when I see a teacher disinfecting toys, washing the children's hands, etc. it is a relief. What I like most is the policy of not allowing children that are sick to come back to the daycare until after 24 hours and are symptom free. It has happened to me several times, and I'm okay with that. Why would I want my daughter to contaminate other children, and then having another child get her sick once again because of the spreading germ in the classroom that she started in the first place. I wish everyone would apply that. It is not fair to torture your sick baby and sit in a daycare, instead of receiving TLC from a parent, or back up person in case of emergencies just like these. Way to Go Childtime for enforcing this rule!!! The registration fees can seem like much to some, but if you knew everything they do for the kids and the activities they offer them, it is so worth it. 2 of my kids are school age and during vacation periods, Child Time takes them to fun fieldtrips like the Aquarium of the Pacific, Adventure City, bowling, movies, etc. They also have yummy treats for the preschool age which is not part of the meal program like Ice cream cones, popsicles etc. They also honor parents, and grandparents with serving them food, morning breakfasts, and having the yearly fair with great entertainment, the Christmas plays, the Mother/Father's Day, Valentines Day projects and so on.... In order to have fun fieldtrips, fun activities and tasty treats we all have contribute in some way. In conclusion, I am happy and as long as we are able to continue coming here, we will. Everybody has their own opinion, this is mine. A mother with 3 children ranging from 18 months to 11 years old. A mother who is very opinionated, vocal, but importantly super over protected of my precious Gifts. I don't trust my children with just anyone. But I do trust the staff here. I am very proud to say that my children attend Child Time Learning Center, and Mrs. Becky and Mrs. Stefani makes it a safe and fun learning environment. My wife and I send our 13 month here twice a week. We love the administration, teachers and cleanliness of the facility--that's the single reason why we chose this location. Great school with lots of activities for the kids, and my daughter (who has attachment issues to my wife and I) never wants to leave! The reason for 4 over 5 stars--cost. It's not cheap, but if you're willing to pay for it, you'll get great service, great teachers and a great facility. However, we've checked into the other child cares in our aread (YL/Brea) and all of them had sub-par cleanliness at best compared to this place. read more

Our son was enrolled part time for 4 months beginning at 14 months. This was the first time leaving our child under non-family care so I watched the camera like a hawk to give me some peace of mind. I thought once I got comfortable with their routine, I would start watching less but I found myself watching more. Here is what I learned watching the camera: - Childtime is very concerned about maintaining ratios. Because my son fell under two classrooms he could potentially be in when he first started, he got shuffled around back and forth a lot whenever they needed to maintain a particular ratio. Very difficult on a new child in that surrounding for the first time and hard for me to get camera access to the room they moved him back and forth from. This got better when he ultimately moved to the older class. - he was ultimately moved to toddler room 2. Teachers do not greet with a smile to you or your kid. In fact, 1 just looked like she wished she wasn't there. There was no opportunity to speak to the teacher if you wanted to provide any instruction for the day for your kid. The teachers also did not respond to any of the messages sent through the app if you needed to tell them something about your child. - I used to put milk in a sippy cup for my child for him to have after nap. The teacher told me she unpacks his bag when I leave so I thought they were refrigerating the milk. After 2 months, I saw the teacher in the camera giving it to him before nap. I quickly called the school to remind that he drinks milk after nap. When I went to pick him up, I learned that she was trying to give him the milk earlier because they had no fridge in the classroom to store the milk and for 2 months it was just sitting out from 9:30am - 3:00pm. This seems like something you should inform a parent from the beginning so I would have known to pack the milk in a thermos or with ice packs! Who knows how many days my child had spoiled milk! - Director is very short with you and unapproachable. When I initially talked to her about my son not being able to self feed a whole meal, she strictly said they would not help. After I emailed a detailed complaint to her about letting kids go hungry if they can't self feed, not coaching them to self feed or sitting with them, and the potential choking hazard from leaving children eating unattended while teachers did admin work, she finally changed her tune and after that, 1 teacher would sit sometimes with all 8 kids but would rarely help feeding. If they can't eat on their own or get distracted and wander away, food is tossed. They have an app which reports how much your kid ate - I found it to be inaccurate based on what I saw him eat on the camera and what they reported. Also, the 1 teacher who sat with the kids while eating would wander away to clean up if any kids wandered away. So the kids still eating would be left unattended and, with my son, he would often times follow the teacher away because that's what he thought he was supposed to do. I don't know what the second teacher was doing and why she could not tend to the kids done eating while one teacher tended to the ones still eating. - when kids come in from outside play, teachers would not wash their hands and kids went straight to lunch or snack time and had to eat by themselves by hand or with spoon if they knew how. - they don't engage the children regularly enough. On the camera, I would see my child bring a book or toy to the teacher to show them and the teacher would just walk past him. It seemed like the teachers spent more time cleaning up or decorating the classroom and less time with the kids. During circle time, kids would be all scattered instead of encouraged to be in one place and participate. The only time I saw him get any type of individualized attention is when one teacher dragged him by his arm to a toy he had dropped and made him pick it up. I'm all about my child learning to clean up, but how do you have time to teach him to pick up toys by dragging his arm and no time to sit down with him and show him how to eat or how to play with a toy or read him a book? - there was a huge hands foot mouth outbreak at the daycare which my son caught and couldn't go to school for days which we paid for. The director claims there were signs around (I didn't see any) but if there is an outbreak, why not include it in the newsletters that go out or broadcast a message so parents can decide if they want to send their kids to school? Overall, yes my son was provided food, diaper changes, and a place to play. But the environment is not nurturing nor conducive to learning. Childtime's philosophy is to let kids figure things out on their own. He learned a few things watching other kids but nothing from the teachers. Watching him on the camera always made me feel like my child spent the day alone and unsure of what he's supposed to be doing. I would never send my child or recommend any child to a day care like Childtime again. read more

Trying to find daycare services for your child can be difficult. Setting up a tour was easy and once you're child is registered, we were given an option for a "Discovery day" where we could take our daughter to the daycare for free and see how she would transition into it. I highly recommend the infant services since that is what we experienced with Childtime. Becky, the director is amazing! She is attentive, welcoming, easy to talk to and responsive! The staff are also very friendly and helpful. We loved the Brightwheel app and getting phone updates on our daughters day. I also felt safe with taking my daughter here. If it weren't for my husband and I having to relocate to Northern California, we would still be with Childtime. read more

My 10 month old Daughter started at Child time in brea a few weeks ago. first time ever putting my children in day care. & I instantly felt a great vibe, extremely clean, friendly and Supportive. Miss Elizabeth, Miss Mykalya and Miss Natalie have all been AMAZING!!! They send me pictures and updates all day long. I have had my daughter at Childtime in Brea since June of 2016. She is in the Pre-K class with Ms. Lisa and Ms. Gaby and I can truly see her growth over the year. She is more confident, socially adjusted and prepared her for starting Kindergarten in the fall. The teachers are trained and understand where each child is developmentally. My son has been a Childtime since he was 15 months old. He has some health issues and the director Becky and teachers were very supportive in ensuring that he would progress at his pace. For the past 2.5 years, Childtime Brea has been such a vital part of my family's life. I have been so blessed to send my children to such a caring, kind, and helpful place. The teachers and directors are all amazing and truly have the best intentions in mind for your children.  They provide quality care in a clean and safe environment, teach the children many age-appropriate academic and social skills, create fun learning and art projects, provide nutritious meals and snacks,  and truly want the best for each child. It is hard to leave your child for many hours a day when you have to work, but know they are in such a well-loved environment at Childtime Brea makes it tremendously easier. I highly recommend them as your childcare provider. I'm so thankful for my children's great teachers this 2017-18 school year. Shout out to the Room 1 crew of Ms Mikaela, Ms Elizabeth, and Ms Natalie for helping my baby learn and grow. After reviewing prior incident reports, it appears that Childtime applies its policies inconsistently. In a prior incident report for 2012 (administered by Becky, and signed by Stephani), our child was sent home for being sick, and the report refers to "24 hr symptom free" in the "details of incident" section. We took our child home after Childtime called, and returned the next day since he was fine (~1 hour before 24 hours from the incident per Childtime's report), and Stephani did not have any problem whatsoever then and did not even mention anything about 23 hours. Thus, with this latest incident, since they were so firm on not accepting the infant the next day, and did not even mention to come back 1 hour later, Childtime probably "ran the numbers" for the infant room and refused to accept the infant, contrary to application of their policy before when they did not care and did not say anything. Or, they treat different people differently, engaging in what smells like favortism or discrimination against those who express concerns about Childtime to apply their policies differently depending on whether they like you or to suit their own agendas. read more

Having previous experience with Kindercare, my standards were very high when first touring this facility back in March. Let's just say I was more than impressed. I think a lot of these other less than positive reviewers don't have any place to compare child time to. I truly feel like I get my money's worth at Childtime . They do so many activities and contests, family picnics, dinners , and so much more than any daycare in my experience . The only thing better than Stephanie and Becky ( the director and assistant director , is the teachers. Yes your reading this thinking how cheesy right? But I'm serious. It's literally the best feeling when you love your kids teachers! To feel safe and comfortable ,to see growth in your child's academics, to have your kids beg to go to Childtime even when u have the day off and can keep them home! The facility is newly remodeled and they always have new material in the classrooms . I'd defiantly give this place a try if you live in or work near the Brea area! read more
