In my first experiences with Dr. Rachel McCann at this location, I thought she seemed like a good doctor, but that was not so. She and a IBCLC (lactation consultant) missed my daughter's tongue tie, one that was obvious to myself and a chiropractor within minutes of meeting her. She did not calculate my daughter's weight from 24 hours since I had a c-section, thus an IV, and her weight was inflated at birth, scaring me into believing she had lost a dangerous amount of weight and told me to stop nursing her, pump and give formula only. This unnecessary intrusion led to difficulties in our breastfeeding relationship and has cost us money in formula due to my daughter's inabilty to nurse correctly from a tongue tie, something that could have been addressed and taken care of at a week old, rather than two months later. She and I had many disagreements on different parenting styles, if she didn't like my choices, rather than sticking to the "Science" she claimed, she started scare tactics and claiming that she did it and her kids are fine. She doesn't seem up to date on a lot of information and told me I needed to start feeding my daughter solids at 4 months when a lot of doctors have researched virgin gut and now believe that they should not be fed solids until 6 months. When I discussed that point, she said I had to start by then, I couldn't wait after that. She is very misinformed and I left her practice after all of these issues. read more
