My wife spent the last 3 days getting cardiac care at Methodist. First there is clearly enough staff. Secondly I have never met a more caring group of Nurses and others. I worked in the med field for 42 years. It is pretty clear to me that the Admin at this hospital has a real focus on Care on not just on budget. I always felt looped into my wife's care. In our two visits to the Cath Lab both were positive experiences. Dr's Parekh and Thibideau were outstanding. I know good care and this visit gave it at every level. I made an informed decision to take my wife to Methodist Omaha and was not disappointed. I highly recommend this provider institution. read more

Patient Care is top notch but Wasteful billing practices are outrageous. They send multiple bills from different divisions on different statements that are by the way due upon receipt, but generated and received on different dates, for the same account and from different mailing PO Boxes but same Account and remit to a shared third PO Box. Customer service can not give you an actual physical and say that all correspondence must go to the same PO Box 2356. The main hospital address is 8303 Dodge Street Omaha, NE 68114-4199 but they will tell you that written communications can't be sent anywhere except the Remittance PO Box. That is hard to believe and is a prime example of waste by duplicating administrative staff as well as making patients write multiple checks for the same account, which by the way they will call you about mentioning the total due for all of the different invoices making it difficult to trust if they are legitimate or just another scam. Until you have a chance to find all the related separate bills arriving days apart. Telling us to sign up on bestcare.org is also a red flag since 3 out of 4 other medical sites / apps we have been tricked into signing up for locally have sent us notifications in 2024 and 2025 that their data systems had been hacked and our personal information had been stolen. This co-dependance on third party billing and data aps is dangerous. Great Experiences with Methodist in the past are being overshadowed by wasteful and likely intentionally divisive billing practices and third party codependency. Shame on administration for buying into the distract and deceptive business models of corporate medicine! read more

What a dump!! The waiting room couches were dirty and ripped! The receptionists all looked like the rolled out of bed and came to work. All dressed in sweatshirts or raggedy t shirts. None were friendly at all. Most directories were taped up paper. The Dr was very nice as well as nursing staff. The anesthesiologist did h very poor I take. No physical exam at all. They better step it up. read more

Experience was like no other..the staff was truly amazing. They exceeded my expectations. I was nervous but they had a way of calming me and explaining everything to me..it was nice, cozy, very clean, and spacious. The registration nurse was wonderful, the nurses in the ER were just great! Sadly, I've been to Methodist Hospital way too many times over the past few years. What is great about this place is the employees! The nurses are top-notch and genuinely care. I've been to a few different hospitals and this place really is the best in my opinion! Most recently, my spouse, and I really appreciated the care that was given! The negative first. I went in through ER. This hospital needs a larger ER staff. The wait was hours long. Once admitted, however, I received spectacular care. They ID'd a secondary problem once I was connected to all the diagnostic gear. One I've likely had for years. One my primary care physician is going to handle now. He's known to that hospital and they included him in their reporting. They did well once through the triage process. I'd return and bring a book. read more

check if the doctor they assign you is in-network before you let them enter the room. they will hire doctors that are not in network even if the hospital is. it is a scam so they can over charge you. they will do unnecessary tests to charge you more money. this is a for profit business, not a hospital. dont let the name fool you, religion is not relevant to them in billing. they only care about your money. you are nothing but an income source to them. Increasing rudeness from the receptionist staff this has happened at women's at mammogram center and at Millard on 144th they now will not connect you with the nurse line and you have to leave your number and they will call you back. They also want to know the specific reason for your call. I personally do not feel that I need to give my health information to a member of the reception staff. I have been a patient at Methodist for over 25 years and recently I'm seriously thinking about switching to another group. My most recent incident at women's left me in tears they just as much as called me a liar. The care has been ok but they always seem short staffed at the hospital and the offices. My rating is based on the office personal only. read more

Emergency is backed up for hours, if you call they won't give you wait times or approximate wait times. Stupid policy when people could go elsewhere if one place is overcrowded. Guess they rather people die in waiting room. read more

My low rating is based solely one the fact they use Anesthesia West Group for their Anesthesiologists. Our experience with their billing and business practices was absolutely terrible. The manger should be fired.. My family will use another health care system just to avoid ever having to deal with the most unprofessional medical practice I have ever had to deal with. Took my father to an outpatient surgical procedure. The staff was friendly and attentive. Some of the friendliest workers in the health industry I've seen in Omaha. They did a great job of not talking above or down to my retired father. The only minor complaint was the state of the building. It's definitely showing it's age and they could use some renovations. read more

My husband spent 5 nights in the hospital after a major surgery. Every bit about the experience was great from the rockstar surgeon, Dr. Merritt, to the nursing staff, therapy departments and even my bud in the cafe who prepared the best Mediterranean salad. Everyone is very helpful, friendly and caring toward your loved one. I have also been to the hospital at least 5 other times with my parents from the ER to scheduled procedures and this was by far the best. This hospital would be my first choice in town! I might even stop by to shop in the gift shop and have lunch some day. (Ok, that sounds weird....but it was great!). read more

If palliative care finds out about a loved one being on the cusp of life or death they come circling like vultures. They come off as fake and used car sales people. They push you into making decisions that are much to early for these types of decisions. They push patients on signing DNR but scaring them about how many bones with be crushed with CPR. Yes CPR is not pretty like on television. But I think going about explaining it but bringing up crushing bones with a bit more humanity. I have experienced this first hand with 2 different family members. Methodist would be fine if not for these vultures. I dont even understand why. Is there some monetary gain for palliative care to be so pushy? I thought Palliative was about pain management and dignity. Why does it feel like these soul sucking ghouls are used car sales people? When they call me my stomach gets a knot instantly they way they speak gives me the feeling they are getting off on near death. I have dealt with Palliative care in other hospitals and never had a similar feeling. Sorry ladies you might want to throw out all the playbook and start a new program. read more

This is my first time being in the hospital for myself and not someone else. I don't have health insurance and was really nervous, but everyone has been so incredibly nice and taken care of me during this scary time. Jordyn (RN) on the 7th floor has taken care of me three shifts in a row and is just a rockstar. Thanks Methodist for making this scary time a lot more comfortable especially with the nurse and bed shortage- it's much appreciated -Also Rooms clean, call times under one minute for help, I've only been on clear foods but get the orange popsicle if you have the chance! read more

I was admitted for gland removal surgery and had a fantastic experience. The surgeon was top notch, and every nurse, assistant, lab technician, and even food service were exceptional. Few people, including myself, should not expect a bed of roses on their visit, but I believe Methodist truly took care of me in my time of need. read more

Recently had a stay in the ICU due to a severe asthma attack. Everyone at Methodist was amazing! From the team who admitted me and got me stabilized to the teams that kept me controlled while I was monitored in the ICU; I truly am so blessed to have been in their care. The RN's/CNA's, Katie, Erin, A.J., Devan, Nia, and Gabrial were all so amazing and went above and beyond to keep me involved in my care. The respiratory team were all so nice and followed up with me on my progress without me feeling like a number on their checklist. They actually made it a point to remember certain points of information about me. The specialists I met were also amazing and put a POA into order that was easy to follow and as soon as I was discharged my PCM and I were able to discuss, plan and set goals. Special shout out to the kitchen staff for also going above and beyond with amazing food, fast service and always helping me with the confusing bed side trays! Thank you again to everyone at Methodist for helping me during one of the scariest moments I've endured. read more

never go here.... This place treated our mother for covid. My mother's other friends had covid and went to UNMC.... They lived! Our mother died! When I asked to talk to a Doctor no doctor ever called me! They did not try any new type of therapies or therapeutics... They did not have monochromal antibodies....UNMC did! To add insult to injury after her mother passed away.... These people then sent a letter to my mother essentially thanking her for her stay in the hospital and asking her for a donation! read more

We arrived at the ER after my son had 5 hours of vomiting from food poisoning. The ER waiting room had no one in the area and no ambulances with recent drop-offs (I asked)--should've been a quick IV bag, and anti-nausea meds---NOPE...3 hours still waiting. The nurse finally agreed it might be just as quick to go to a hydration IV place like LIVE Spa--Horrible customer service at Methodist from a quick in/out perspective. Nurse was kind and all, but not helpful to just get the PA or Dr to see my son sitting with tingling face and heavy leg feel. They said "we will watch him from here (the window)"... LIVE SPA was the answer--they had us in and out and feeling 95% improved in less than an hour. read more

Over the years I have utlized Methodist for different services. I have always been very pleased and at times meet with people who were co-worker from when I worked for Methodist Richard Young. Recently I had to spend almost a week there on a Covid unity and a step-down covid unit. I cannot say enough for how attentive and kind the staff were. They are working hard and they are dealing with difficult situations. I cannot say enough good about the treatment I received. read more

Excellent ER! I had to come here for an unfortunate injury, my first personal trip to an ER ever. The staff at Methodist really made the best of my situation that was possible. My check in was super easy since my primary care is within the Methodist network. The only drawback (than my obvious injury) was that there was a quite the wait to be processed by triage. Apparently they were very busy that night. I also had a small wait for a private emergency room to open since they were all full when I first arrived. However, once I was all situated in a room, my care was superb! I was constantly being tended to by aides, nurses, techs, and my doctor. Everything was extremely thorough and treated with the utmost care. My doctor made sure I knew everything that was going on and happening to me and that I was well informed for my care after I left the hospital. Follow-up with my doctors was easy, they even contacted me the next day to set up my appointments based on my ER doctor's recommendations. My doctors were impressed with my stitches and commented on how well done they were. Everyone has been impressed with my relatively quick recovery and I owe it all to the great care I received when I came to the Methodist ER! read more

Went to the ER been there for 6 hours they won't let you step outside no matter how long you've been here to just get some fresh air nothing I haven't ate and they except you to not eat just wait till your seen over 25 people in the waiting room no social distancing what so ever dark haired lady at the front door told me I should've did that before I came to get checked at. Went to the ER in extreme pain after my regular doc told me to go there. Got in, they took my name and insurance paperwork, then sent me back out to the waiting room. They told me after they signed me in it would be a 3-6 hour wait to get into the ER! Once we heard how long it would be we left and went to UNMC and was in a room getting a CT scan within 20 minutes of arrival. Admitted right away with perforated bowel. The worst part of Methodist? They BILLED me for what they call triage service, $94 to take my name and insurance card. When I refused to pay they sent the bill to collections. I will never set foot inside that hospital again. I was very disappointed in Methodist today. I changed from a "Council Bluffs " hosp6a few years sho just for the same typ6of things that happened today at Methodisy.... I came into the ER at 7:30 this morning with shortness of breath and non-stop coughing. Everything started out good but quickly fell apapart. Got labs, x-ray and CT scan done in a timely manner but then i didnt see or hear from a doctor or nurse for hours. My husband kept asking when would be in with info but just kept saying they were busy and would be in "soon". Finally 5 hours later doctor said releasing me but i was the same if not worse when came in. Husband finally kinda lost it and said hadn't done anything and saw no way to take care of me at home. Actually called my doctor's office to let him know what was going on, that his on-call doctor and ER doctor had done nothing. Few minutes later was advised admitting me as short have been done in the beg. My nurse on the floor, let's call her Mary Jane C., has not followed through on things that i was told they would do. Tells me one story and then when hubby asks her about it, tells him something company different? Didn't want to get me something was told would get for me but thought ws too expensive? I didn't realize nurses had the power to make decisions for you in regard to your finances? read more

ER Nurse Tori, I'm not there to make your job easier, I'm there for the family member/patient that I'm with. If you say that you are going to be back in 15 minutes and the patient is in severe pain, don't get butt-hurt and point your finger at me when I tell another Nurse, 50 minutes later, that nothing has been done. Do your damn job! (only 3 current ER patients & 3 other RN's gossiping at their desk so don't tell me it was overwhelmingly busy) You obviously have a long way to go in the profession. Try to take some classes on bedside manner! read more

Absolutely incredible hospital. Methodist has the best care and thats why they are the meaning of care. The staff is so kind and gentle with all of the care they give and you can really tell they care about each person. The have great parking and great facilities that are clean and well kept. Don't you just love when you get huge bill in the mail for a 15 minute doctor visit...Oh and if you are a new patient they will charge you $300 to ask you 3 questions, Your name, date of birth, and address. If I knew I was going to be charged an arm and a leg for a "check up". I would simply not go. These new patient policies are ridiculous. There needs to be some serious changes.... read more

They don't tell you that Radiology is billed separate, I paid all my ER visits in full, they told me I was all in the clear, months went by and I never got Any bills or calls, now I'm getting collections bills for radiology, tried to call and tell them I never received a bill and they fought with me about how many letters they sent.. called the post office and they have nothing, they resent it that day and I called every few days to the post office and NOTHING. they are scammers and liars and ruining sick peoples credit. they need some kind of new system or double check on whoever is sending their mail. sickening how little our health care system doesn't care about the people they claim to help read more

The procedure I had was the worst experience I have ever had, what should have taken two weeks ended up taking almost two months and thousands of dollars of additional expense. inter office communication was almost non existent.
