We are so grateful for Jen J., our son's BCBA. She was an incredible advocate for everything related to our son, always ensuring his best interests came first. Jen was a constant source of information, guidance, and support; not just for our son, but for me as a mom through many emotional moments. My daughter was evaluated for a speech delay here and needs speech therapy. After the evaluation it took over 5 weeks to get any type of communication from them. When they finally emailed me back, they told me they didn't have any opening! Why the hell would they make my daughter wait 2 whole months just to tell us they didn't have any openings after stringing us along?! After that point i was able to find another speech therapist to help and get us scheduled immediately. BUT THIS PLACE DRAGGED THEIR FEET AGAIN , this time on sending me my daughter's evaluation report which has delayed it even more. I am beyond fed up with this place and lack of urgency and empty promises. STILL WAITING ON THE REPORT GUYS. read more

The best experience my daughter has ever had! We have had the pleasure of working with ms Marisol for over a year and although my daughter is in multiple types of therapy, this Ot class is the one where she has shown the most progress. Ms Marisol is so caring and sweet, and caters her approach to each individual child's needs, not a one fits all like some of my daughters other classes. This review is for Children's Learning Connection and my son's speech teacher, Serena. At 18 months, my pediatrician informed us that my son may have a speech delay. At the time, he was mostly saying only "mama and papa." Because of his frustration at not being able to communicate he was biting and hitting. My husband and I was devastated. We were so afraid he would never be able to speak normally. RCOC connected us with Children's Learning Connection. We were assigned Serena to help with speech therapy. It took a few sessions for my son to warm up to Serena but once he did, everything fell into place. My son was very shy especially with strangers but she did a great job warming up to him. Saying that Serena is amazing - is an understatement. She is patient, smart, and really cares about your child. She knows what she is doing. When we tell our son "It's time to go see Serena," he would run to the car. Whereas, other times we would have to fight to get him to sit in his car seat. Serena empowered us as parents and taught us strategies to implement at home to help our child. Serena got him to sit in a chair to listen quietly to a story and taught him to clean up his toys when he was all done. He is more confident and says "Hi" and "Bye" to people in the grocery stores. My son started with Serena end of May 2019 and by the end of Oct 2019 he was singing his ABCs (in two different languages), communicating in 2-4 word sentences, singing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, Baby Shark, and the Family Finger Song. He no longer bites or hits because he can communicate his needs. He tells us when he has a dirty diaper. Tells us what he wants to eat or when he is thirsty. He cleans up his toys when he is all done and sings the "Clean Up" song Serena sings when she taught him. Thanks to Serena, he constantly asks to "read book" and "play words." He talks non-stop all day. He has since graduated from the program and after a month, he still misses the sessions with her. He mentions her every other day and says "rena" for Serena and asks to "play words." We are extremely happy with his progress and it was all thanks to Serena. She changed his life and ours. read more

Therapists and staff are constantly changing within a short period of time. There are better companies out there that will support you and your family in a more positive way. They will constantly take down any negative reviews and try to block you from posting. They promote their employees to write good reviews on Indeed, Yelp, and FB. Your best bet is to go elsewhere. I was referred to here from my pediatrician and I've called for weeks to get an evaluation appointment. Someone picks up the phone and transfers me to intake person which I always get a voicemail and I've left a message each time. When I call back I tell the person who first picks up the phone that I leave a message and haven't gotten a call back and they transfer me back to the voicemail. I finally gave up 3 weeks ago and guess what, still no phone call back! read more

Unfortunately, we were never even able to see someone at this group. Our insurance company waited two weeks for a response from this provider to make sure they were able to accept my son as a patient. Finally, yesterday, we received their information from the insurance company and were able to contact them (could not contact them for an appointment until the location accepted us as a new patient as that is the insurance company's process). Called today to get an intake assessment and was informed that they are not accepting new patients with our insurance at this time because our insurance requires a therapist with a level of education that they do not have available currently. I'm very thankful that our insurance company requires that and disappointed that CLC cannot meet that obligation. Someone from CLC obviously had to approve my son's placement in order for my insurance company to send me to them, but unfortunately we are sent back to the drawing board to find another provider because of this oversight and have to wait another week while insurance goes back through the process of matching us to a provider. This is incredibly disappointing and obviously this place is not quite as organized as they should be. They are claiming they only received our information yesterday and that the insurance company likely assigned us without notifying them, but that is not correct as I've been working with the insurance company on this for 2 weeks and they have been waiting on a response from them for a similar amount of time. read more

I'm in total disbelief at the negative reviews. I was looking up CLC purely for nostalgic reasons as we do not live in CA anymore. These reviews are SO far off the level of care we received. I would say without a shadow of a doubt that my son is where is he today because of CLC. He has autism and was non-verbal when he started at CLC. Today he attends a typical school and is involved in both drama and speech and debate. He is happy and is thriving. We are forever grateful! They fought as hard as we did for our son to succeed. We were there for almost 6 years and only left because we moved out of state (to Oklahoma where, let me tell you, you instantly realize what a good thing you had back in CA). His therapists became like family to us. We had wonderful interactions with all of them. Each brought a different style of treatment and it made each session interesting. If there was one who we thought was better at interacting with our son, we asked to switch back or make a change and it was taken care of as soon as their schedule allowed. It ALWAYS felt very client driven to me. I am still in touch with many other parents who have similar stories from CLC. I can't answer to the insurance issues because we all know how complicated those can be, and really, they are different for each case. I can only say that if you base your decision for treatment options by how fast your voicemail is answered VS. walking in to CLC and seeing their therapists interact with special needs kids(and your own), you will be doing a disservice for your child. You will not be disappointed. read more

Before starting with authorization I asked if they have a long waitlist. I was told no, I started contacting them in February 2021 trying to schedule sessions at any location. After many emails, forms and paperwork they can take us now in June !!! It's been Four months!!! No waitlist??? read more

My son had a service at this center for the pass year. His speech have been improved a lot, when he first started there he barely speak but now he can say 3 to 4 word at time. I have to thank you his speech therapist( Tom Doan ) at the center and his ABA teacher which is in home service ( Aretha).ThEy are very friendly and helpful. I really recommend this place. read more

We had a wonderful experience at CLC. My phone attended speech therapy with Alli and she was incredible! We needed to change dates here and there and their scheduler was always on top of it with great communication. We attended CLC during COVID and the online Telehealth was great. I would recommend this place to anyone but especially would recommend Alli!!! read more

I'm filing a formal complaint through Regional Center and would strongly encourage you to seek services elsewhere. This facility will tell you you're seeing a "speech therapist" or SLP (also known as a Speech and Language Pathologist - someone with Master's level training and able to see kids with a lot of special needs), but actually assign you to a SLPA (speech-language pathology assistants - much less education/training). I have nothing against SLPAs and feel they have an important role in many setting, but if your child has special needs or significant impairment you should be receiving services from a Master's level-trained clinician - you are ENTITLED to that based on your being referred here through Regional Center or insurance. I think this center does this to get more money and I feel it is really dishonest and a disservice to parents to not at least be transparent about this practice. The only reason I'm aware of it is that my own mom is a SLP and warned me to look for this. I figured this out and promptly asked for a SLP. Thankfully we had one we really loved who we saw twice weekly, but after nearly a year with her we showed up one day and were told that this was our last visit. She was told to drop ALL her patients, give them to SLPAs, and take on an entirely new caseload for 2017. I found this so totally unprofessional that I refuse to go back and get services there. There was no dialogue, conversation, or advance notice and we now have to wait almost a month or more without services to try to find someone else (definitely looking elsewhere). Our 2-year-old daughter was confused and it made us sad to have things end the way they did. If you have a choice, choose a different facility. read more

We've been very happy with our 3 years at CLC. They took care of all of the insurance coverage inquiry and got us on the schedule with my preferred therapist as soon as every thing was approved. Our speech therapist, Serena, is phenomenal and has made such a positive difference in our children's language expansion (thus, their lives)! The front office staff is prompt and have been great accommodating changes in our full schedule. I'm so grateful for them! read more

The quality of service has drastically decreased. Therapists are always changing with no warning. No one from the clinic returns any parent calls anymore. Communication is poor overall. I received a speech services for my son for a while here. More than a year. He has now graduated! When we found out when our last day was we were both bummed because we have grown to love them so much. We have had some really rough challenges in the past with the school district and a couple of other speech therapy centers that have left me in tears. Not Children's Learning Connection! They are fabulous! My son's therapist was Katie Watson and we have come to love and appreciate her. She truly has gone far above my expectations and CLC has a highly valued employee. But it doesn't stop there. The staff (Woot! Woot!) has been so sweet! Jasmine at the front desk has made every effort to understand, empathize, and care for our needs. The person who oversees this location (and I forgot her name, sorrryyyy) has been such a blessing! So sweet and understanding, and if I had money or could give them an award of recognition, I would! Our son received Speech, Occupational Therapy, and Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) services at CLC from 18 months to age 3. I found the staff we were assigned to be helpful, professional, and exceptional at their skill-set. Each one was eager to provide our family with strategies to continue the great work at home, which I appreciated greatly since I had no background or experience with any of this! They were friendly, caring, knowledgable, flexible to our needs, and I truly felt like they had the best interest of our child and family in mind at all times. As with any field, schedules change, people get sick (they're allowed to!) and "things come up" -- we had to make cancellations and adjustments from our end as well because. The staff was great at scheduling make-ups, and finding solutions that adapted to our toddler's naps and specific needs in order to make sessions most productive. We saw substitutes as a result at times, and were very impressed at how seamless they were able to make the experience, so we didn't lose any momentum on the great progress our son was experiencing. We just "graduated" from services here, but if I had to start all over again... I'd return to CLC, no doubt. Their field of services is a complex one, and the experience we had was certainly one I would recommend to others seeking services in this area. If I had to 'complain' about SOMETHING, it would be that parking in the business complex is busy. ;-) read more

Please seek services for your child somewhere else. The services from this company were a complete waste of time, not to mention money! They send inexperience teens (first year of college) with ZERO experience in ABA training. The BTs (Behavior Technicians) rely on cheat sheets/check lists which they get from their company provided iphones, so they are always on their phone. We went through two case managers , (which I guess are the real experts) in a period of less than 6 mos. The case manager meets with you for an hour and maybe sees your child for another a hour a month. They are the ones that set the training plan even though they are the ones that spend the least amount of time observing your child. They take notes and read notes provided to them by the BT working with your child. We called and asked for a different BT, someone that had more experience because it was clear my very high functioning son was just using the current BT as a play buddy, and we kept getting excuse after excuse as to why we couldn't get someone new. Basically we got tired of waiting for someone new, we saw little if any progress with my sons behavior that we decided to cancel services. Their billing is another horrible service, which I won't eve get into in this post. Stay away from CLS!! read more
