From the start Shane was responsive and receptive to my precautions for COVID and agreed to do a virtual walkthrough of our home over zoom for the initial consultation and then was able to provider a very detailed and thorough estimate and answered all our questions. He was always definitive when providing recommendations for how to best baby proof our space, but never pushy when we decided on a course of action that best suited our needs. Installation went just as smooth when the day came, and everything was installed very well and with no fuss, even figuring out alternative solutions to a couple tricky spots once he was on site, and accommodating us adding in a couple extra items last minute. Prices were very reasonable; Shane was always responsive, timely, and professional; and the finished work is great. If we ever need baby proofing services again, we'll definitely choose Child Safe Childproofing again in a heartbeat. read more

Our original installation with Shane was fine, but the products they used to child-proof our home began to break quickly and that's when we learned that the warranty for their products and work are only covered for 3 months. Some products are not covered by warranty at all. This was not discussed with us up front, and when we asked for them to be fixed/replaced they told us we would be charged to replace them and charged a travel fee for them to come back to the house. This was a very frustrating experience since we spent thousands of dollars on their services. I also feel like they installed things we didn't need - this was for our first kid so it felt like we were taken advantage of. I think they were good for installing our baby gates but I wouldn't use them for other installations. read more

Oh, I have an extra little adapter for that. Lock the window well in the yard? Well here's a super simple lock that opens from the inside but not the outside. Worth every penny!  Obviously safety was our number one priority, but what we didn't expect to find and really value is the freedom that this provided us.  Knowing that all the potential dangers have been addressed, we can let our 15 month old twins "explore" without constantly standing over them to prevent harm.  Shane and Nicole are easy to work with and professional.  The materials they use blend into the house seamlessly.  Additionally, we really appreciated the general safety questions they went through with us to make sure we had non-expired fire extinguishers, our fire escape plan, and easy access to emergency contacts for caregivers, amongst other key questions.  We would recommend Shane and Nicole again and again!  You can't go wrong with them. read more

Shane does an awesome job! He's also a really nice guy and got a great sense of humor so he's easy to work with. Childproofing certainly isn't cheap - most items are lower priced but they add up quick. That said, Shane's prices are very reasonable he's willing to tailor everything to fits exactly what you want. We got him to do a lot of the real pain-in-the-neck items like cabinet locks, securing cords in conduit, and installing a stair gate around a banister. Then we handled some easier items ourselves to save cost. Plus he sells far superior products to anything I ever would have found on my own. And we had to have him replace some things we'd installed first that failed b/c they were cheap so going straight to Shane would have probably saved us money... Shane also did an excellent job navigating our old somewhat crumbly plaster walls which were a challenge. He has truly smart solutions to a lot of problems. I do understand that he's a childproofer and has insurance/liability to worry about so some of his recommendations are much more than are truly needed. But like I said you can have him drop those items, you'll just have to make the judgement call yourself on if things aren't truly necessary. My only complaint is that Shane has a certain way of doing things that work for him and had a little trouble thinking outside the box with alternative solutions. But once we talked through things we were always able to find solutions that worked for our needs in conjunction with his comfort in meeting childproofing requirements/standards - it just took some creative thinking on my part and running each idea by him. For example, we have 2 large dogs so we wanted our stair gate place up and on top of the first stair rather than butting up to it's bottom. After some brainstorming and discussion we were able to find a way that made it work. read more

This was the absolute best experience I could ever have had in child proofing our home. We recently moved and had our third child. We have a ton of access points and doorways/stairways that would be very dangerous for a crawling and walking toddler. Shane was absolutely amazing in Baby Proofing our entire home. Our basement, main floor and upstairs as well as our pool area. It was extremely thorough, everything was well thought out in terms of using the best equipment that would still keep the baby safe while also Not being unnecessarily intrusive to the rest of us. We spent all summer researching for someone to do some safety work at our house. The stuff available locally in chain stores was all inferior quality junk that we've had nothing but bad experiences with. We recently had Shane come out to inspect our home and baby proof! Highly recommend for first-time parents or anyone who would like the job done well. He did a very thorough inspection of our whole house and included safety items that can sometimes be overlooked but are very important to have functioning (fire extinguishers, smoke detectors, etc.). He installed door locks, a baby gate, and plexi-glass (I think that is the material?) on our bannister and I feel so much better about letting my little 9 mo run around. He also re-hung a mirror in her room for free after he saw that it was not hung very well (my doing). Highly recommend! In July 2015, Shane McNulty, owner of Child Safe, LLC came to our home and did a full detailed inspection of our home for child proofing needs and found a lot of safety issues we never thought about. His home inspections are $150 and worth every penny. The inspection lasted 3.5 hrs and included all aspects of the inside and outside. There's no obligation to use his company for install but his rates are great. Had a heavy 2 part hutch that he secured together and then used metal straps to secure to the wall. Total cost was only $36, and they currently have a $25 off any installation. I will be having him come back to do the rest of the installations too. He is ex-law enforcement so he has witnessed plenty of child injuries from unsafe items in the home and great at knowing what to look for. He was friendly, informative and very helpful with advice on how to make easy fixes that work. He sends a detailed email of his findings as well as walking through the home with you and explaining as he goes. I highly recommend him! Today, Shane with Child Safe came out again, squeezing us into his already busy schedule, and installing anti-tip brackets to 5 heavy furniture items, screwing down 1 tall doll house, and attaching a very top heavy hockey table with wall brackets. I feel very lucky to have found this company who is knowledgeable with child safety. I am extremely pleased with the quality work performed and a whole lot less stressed knowing that my home is that much safer for my wild 2 year old. I am glad we went ahead and installed the anti-tip brackets so we can be one less statistic of child death from a dresser. I highly recommend Shane and his company Child Safe, LLC.
