Indu is always good at cleaning up my eyebrows and not taking off too much. She's always nice and her family is very kind too. She prefers cash but she does have a Venmo option available. Note that she's closed on Tuesdays. She also gives a heads-up when she'll be away on vacation. I am giving five stars but I think others should be aware that it's safer to make an appointment or call ahead because I have stopped by at least three times over the years over an hour before the listed closing time and found that it's already closed. Also, don't accidentally go into the nail salon next door. I did that on my first visit and it was super embarrassing. read more

Had a great experience at Chik's. She values her customer experience and does great intricate work when threading eyebrows and upper lip. She was very kind and introduced herself when she recognized I was a new customer. She also takes pride on being recognized as a great business and appreciates supplying to her community. I liked how she has a rewards program which is great for the customers. Highly recommend Chik's for your needs! read more

Indu is a very nice and caring woman have been going to her for years. I'm not sure what happened but my eyebrows have been completely destroyed before vacation/ wedding. 2 different sizes and shapes and way too thinned out in some areas and thick in others. There is no fixing this. read more

At first I was suspicious of all of the 5 star reviews. How is it possible that a shoe-box sized shop with a very small staff could muster up SO many consistently positive reviews? Walk in on any weekend and you'll see how popular and talented Indu is. She's a sweetheart and will warmly greet you, discuss what shape you like, how much to take off, etc. She shows that shes want all her customers to walk out happy. Indu does not make my brows pencil thin and tries her best to match the funny shapes they grown in. If you go enough, she will also remember how you like your brows. The rest of the face threading is mostly painless, as well. Full disclosure: I used to use this horrible stanky cream to remove my upper lip fuzz but threading is way better and lasts longer. I also don't get pimples from it. I occasionally like to get tint, but I do tend to wash my face a lot and rub my eyes so it does not last more than a few days. My eyebrows are already fairly dark so I do not always need it, anyway. The owner is a workaholic and is there everyday except for Tuesday -- when another lady fills in. read more

I decided to try eyebrow threading after having my eyebrows butchered by waxing at a retail chain. Indu explained the process to me and was so nice as she cleaned up my eyebrows. She also did tint on them. They look great now. I was so impressed with her work. I will never go back to waxing. Indu does great work and has gained a new customer! read more

So I've only gone to get my eyebrows done at places I'm familiar with already in Queens but I listened to the reviews for this place and I'm so happy I did! I haven't gotten my eyebrows done since March and the places in queens aren't open yet, but Indu brought my eyebrows back to life. Not to mention she was so sweet, kind and gentle. I normally break out right after I get my eyebrows threaded because my skin is really sensitive but I didn't this time and I think it's truly because of her technique. Definitely will be returning! I've lived all over the country and Indu's threading at Chik Threading Salon is worth writing home about (home being Yelp in this case) =)) Indu pays attention to details, is very warm and welcoming and communicates a lot about shape of the eyebrow (versus most threading salons where they pretend to listen but continue doing whatever they want). If it is your first time threading, don't worry - she is patient and explains how to hold your eyebrows etc. The pricing is affordable and now that I've found her, I wouldn't go any where else for my threading needs! Lot of street parking around. Also, get your stamp card at Chik Threading Salon :-) Highly recommend! read more

Took me a while to find my go-to place after leaving Manhattan. I love it here! I am always satisfied with her work and always pleasant to talk to. Easy to park on the street and run in. This place is a hidden gem!!! I absolutely LOVED her work. I used to pay $20 at a different location, although the did an amazing job, it was not economically friendly. For $6 threading you can't beat. She does tints for $10 and lip $4. She asks what you would like for your shape and actually follows through. She won me as a customer for as long as she stays open. Definitely pay a visit. She also has a rewards program. For every 6 eyebrow threading sessions, you get 1 free! read more

I love it here! Indu provides quality service at great prices! i'll go see her about every two weeks to get my eyebrows threaded and tinted pre-total of $20. When you go to Chik threading salon, you're treated like family, she has even gone to the extent of offering me Indian tea. She also offers a great incentive after purchasing six eyebrow threading's you get the seven one for free. In summary, she's an expert at what she does, and I would recommend her without hesitation. read more

Walked in today as it is in the neighborhood. Waited a few minutes which was not an issue. I was NOT disappointed!! Indu is sweet and skilled. She listened to how I wanted my brows to look. I went here a few days ago nervous because I had never got my eyebrows or lip threaded before and she was great about it. I felt like I was spending time with my mom as she was showing me pictures of previous jobs. She shaped my eyebrows since it had been months since I got my eyebrows done. Told me how to hold my eyebrows and push out my lip so it wouldn't hurt as bad. Then she tinted my blonde eyebrows to match my roots. I don't think that my eyebrows have ever looked better. All of this for 20 dollars. Let's just say as long as I live in NY I will continue to go to her. read more

I went to this salon after reading rave reviews on Yelp. The owner, Indu was a very nice person and truly did a wonderful job. Unfortunately, I will not be returning unless safety protocols are evaluated and changed. We are in a pandemic and the owner was sitting in the salon with no mask on when I arrived, asked me to sit in the same chair she was in without wiping it down or disinfecting the area, did not sanitize her hands, put on a mask covering only her mouth and NOT her nose and proceeded to do my eyebrows while breathing very heavily all over my face. I really wanted to love this place given all the great reviews but safety comes first, especially during these times. I have gone to other salons during the pandemic where they took safety protocols very seriously and I will stick to those places for now. I do hope this salon will start to enforce better safety protocols, it would be a shame if anyone got sick over something that could be easily remedied with proper precautions. Update: Given the response that this salon does not seem to believe they are doing anything wrong by breathing over their customers, I have notified the local authorities to inspect and ensure proper safety measures are being taken in order to protect the community. Stay safe everyone! read more

I am more of a getting my brows waxed than threaded and I have tried threading before and I am happy to say that this place is by far the best and I will be getting my brows done here for now! Indu is amazing!!! Most of my encounters with my brows have been nightmares, with techs that basically just did whatever they wanted despite my specific requests. Not so with Indu! She is patient, kind, and incredibly experienced. She takes her time, and will give you exactly what you ask for, going section by section and even hair by hair if necessary. I am pretty picky, and she allows me to sit with the mirror, consulting me after making the moves that we have discussed to make sure I am okay with it. I didn't think it was possible, but now I love getting my brows done. The reviews are for real and she deserves every accolade. I've found my brow artist forever! read more

Best threading salon ever. I will never let anyone else do my brows except for Indu. She fixed my botched eyebrows from another salon. And they have never looked better. I get so many compliments! She knows exactly how I like them (thick and arched) and never rushes me out of there. I highly recommend the tinting. No more penciling them in. Saves me time in the morning. read more

That being said, the negatives that I have are purely coming from a sanitation perspective, as I am also a New York State licensed waxer. Never once have I seen a single technician wear a pair of gloves. That is New York State law. I also can say with confidence that every single time the technician picks up Wax on a stick, she blows on it with her mouth, which is also against New York State law. No one has ever put pressure on the freshly waxed skin, which is a technique that I was personally taught in school, but make sure that I practice while working to ensure the least amount of pain for my clients. Lastly, this is more of a personal issue, but I feel no matter what time of day I come into the salon, whoever works on me has just eaten a meal and I have to hold my breath because of the odor being exhaled directly into my face. Overall, I think that the salon is conveniently located, and appears to be beautiful- the staff is very kind, but sanitation practices are not consistent at all.

I go here for lash lifts. Despite my stubborn, unyielding thick lashes she'll make sure they're done right. Last time I was there she did. not. give. up. Those babies are curled. My only issue is sometimes the lifts don't last super long. Some folks get a full 5 weeks, I'm lucky if my lashes look good for 3-4. I don't know the brand perm solution but, it doesn't usually burn or bother me so I'll deal with it. This is relevant because I do have sensitive eyes and had some crappy experiences at a different spot. Currently lifts are $80, which is affordable considering bigger salons charge much more denaro. Lastly, her "coworker" Jordan is the best. ESPECIALLY when he asks for tummy rubs. Precious. Parking is cake in the train station lot.

This is my first yelp review. I felt compelled to leave one after my first time at this salon today because the owner is such a sweet soul. I had been neglecting my eyebrows out of lack of time for 2 months (maybe more!) and I had explained to her that threading always KILLS and I was extra nervous about the pain because my eyebrows were so grown out. She was sooooo gentle! And she took her time (about 15 mins) to reshape my eyebrows and they look great! A total 180 from where I was going previously where the ladies are always in a rush (which equals PAIN!) She talked to me the entire time, even hugged me on my way out! So sweet! So I have tried a lot of places in Long Island but none delivered the results like Chik Threading salon. Loved the space and tints and special precautions during COVID. She was super polite even offered sanitizer and a mask for my safety. Will love to support our local women-owned small business, especially in this pandemic. For the cost, my eyebrows came out okay. Unfortunately, there were several downsides. The shop was quite hot despite having ceiling fans running, and I received a small cut on my upper eyelid during the threading. I also felt the service became rushed when another customer arrived. The procedure was more painful than other threading experiences I've had, and I was required to keep my head tilted back at an uncomfortable angle with no real neck support. When I stood up afterward, I became extremely dizzy and actually staggered a bit. What disappointed me most was that there seemed to be little concern for how I was feeling, as the focus appeared to be more on completing the transaction than checking on my well-being. Overall, you get what you pay for. The prices are inexpensive and the results were acceptable, but I've had much better eyebrow threading experiences elsewhere. 3 stars.
