But both Meijer and Kohl's are suffering from being short handed, and I have a Kohl's credit card and some Kohl's cash. It's a bit messy because it's a couple days before Christmas and a storm is coming and they have about half the workers they need. The ones that are working are doing a great job, and the prices are very good for the quality and I needed these gloves and socks, and I wanted the pajamas. Everywhere you look you find Gryffindor or Slytherin stuff but never Hufflepuff and rarely Ravenclaw. I was so pumped. I am always shocked at the prices however- $50 for the sweater I was dying to have. Maybe next time dear sweater, maybe next time. I am a enamel pin collector so I always stop at the displays that are chalked full with them since they are trendy right now. There are lots of places to get enamel pins now but I do always stop to look because they tend to have pop culture ones. If you ever cant find what you're looking for you can always go online or to their sister store Box Lunch (there arent any locally but there is an online store. Closest one I think in South Bend Indiana) Hot Topic has changed a bit since I was in high school and I was neck deep in the emo/goth culture but I still enjoy stopping. I came in around 3 PM and wasn't greeted, which isn't a big deal, just unusual compared to my past visits. At 3:59 PM, a staff member approached me and said "we would like to close, it's 4 PM." The doors were already locked and the open sign had been turned off. I apologized, as I had mistakenly checked the hours for a different thrift store--completely my fault. That said, the interaction felt a bit abrupt and not very welcoming. I've always appreciated the environment here, and that's a big reason I shop here regularly. Unfortunately, this experience left a negative impression. With so many thrift stores around, customer experience really makes a difference and today felt very unwelcoming. Would like to note, I've been there around closing before and usually they make an announcement and are super friendly, today that was not the case.
