For preaching sustainability, they sure don't understand the meaning of the word. Deliberately losing money and waisting people's time as well. We tried to go in to just get a pricing on clothes so we could compare and contrast our other options. They wouldn't even bother giving us an estimate because they require new clothes being sold, to be in bags. We obviously didn't have one, and wouldn't even give us a price for our clothes. We ended up buying shoes from them and they gave us a bag for our purchase. I told them I would put our clothes in our new bag they just gave us and they said they wouldn't take back their own bags. So we never even got a price for our clothes after obtaining a bag. Beggars can't be choosers Their math isn't mathing. And sustainability isn't being sustained. This place is a joke! They tried to say the stuff I brought into them was too worn which is extremely funny considering a lot of my pieces still had tags on them!! What it is they just don't want to go though the stiff if I bring it in anytime after 6 even though the website states they don't have a cut off time to stop buy from customers! And they are very pricey for being a second hand store. You get better items and prices from good will heck I could get better prices buying brand new from Gabes. When you don't take care of ur customers because you might have to stay a few mins over ur scheduled time should not be in a customer service business. So if you want them to actually look at what you take to them make sure you have it in there before 6 pm or they just lie to you. The same cloths that was on the top of my container was still on the top so I don't believe they really went though anything and im going to let their corporate office know that as well. Not a place I'll spend my money and I have a problem with buying clothes so.... I have gotten rid of 7 30 gallon trash bags full in the last 3 months. I have 3 closets and that's no where close enough for all my stuff so their loss. They should make sure who they are lying to b4 they so it. Good luck if u do try to go there. read more

I love shopping at Style Encore, the staff is amazing, all the girls make shopping there a great experience. It's amazing to be able to purchase all my favorite brands at prices much lower than even sale prices. They are picky about the items they take and what makes it to the floor, but I always feel like bringing my clothes in to sell is well worth my time. Highly recommend! read more

I like this store more than other similar adult-oriented secondhand in the area. It's Plato's Closet for adults, when you outgrow teenager/ juniors styles! I have found a lot of great items here, and their clearance is a decent deal. Keep an eye on their social media, they post items that are available that you can hold, and they announce sales and stuff. I have found their customer service to be decent, better than other similar stores. They are pretty good about getting fitting rooms unlocked and they are usually pretty busy. Be aware what you're getting into before you even attempt to sell. (That goes for Plato's as well or any similar store.) You will get back like 30% of what Style Encore will sell it for- so don't expect to get your money back. The items need to be decent, popular brands in recent styles, and in excellent condition. In my experience, unique/ embellished styles sell better than plain/ classic styles unless they are new with tags. Some common brands I saw and have sold are Loft, Ann Taylor, Lucky, Fossil, Toms, Adidas, Under Armour etc. Last I went they had a huge Lularoe section and a large activewear section too. read more

I really struggled writing this review but after a few more visits to this store that weren't pleasant, it's time to find another resale shop. When Laura and Hannah worked there, the attitude of the staff was different and so welcoming. They took interest in you and seemed to genuinely care. The staff today did not. I took a purse (Louis Vuitton) in that I had purchased online from another Style Encore. The tag was still attached and it was in AS IS condition. There are some scrapes, the handles are worn and the zipper has been replaced. The Style Encore I purchased it from is reputable and does way more business than this one. I foolishly thought that when this Style Encore is begging for designer bags, they would take a high end one that had previously sold at a larger store. Wrong. While the staff was evaluating and "authenticating" it, I walked around the store. All 3 women followed me with their eyes, like I was a criminal selling drugs. A smug looking woman who seemed to have "authenticated" it handled the purse like it was diseased. Not sure where she got her authenticity degree, but apparently the stitching looked "off" and to price it high, it would have to be in better condition. Full disclosure, I told them it was AS IS and the original tag that was still attached to the purse stated the same thing. That typically means not right off the retail shelf and has been previously owned. What irritates me about this store is one person "evaluates" your items and then a completely different person tells you why or why not they will take your item. So you have a question as to why they won't take it, the salesperson just stands there like a deer in the headlights because they have no idea why either! Needless to say, I called the original Style Encore and they bought the purse back over the phone. That's a business that stands behind their product and their customer. If you are looking for Wal-Mart or Charming Charlie purses, this is your place. If you want high end (Coach, Kate Spade, Louis Vuitton) it's worth the trip to Style Encore in Grand Rapids. read more

This is my second review of Style Encore, this one is not so good, each time I go in, there are different people working. The associates went around asking if they could start a basket for three white females, me being black I was not asked and had an arm full of clothes. I did not feel valued this time. I like the clothes and the prices but not sure If I will return. read more

I can always count on Style Encore for great customer service and high quality resale clothing! The store is well organized. The outfits on display are always attractive and creative. My one wish is that Style Encore had more plus size items in the 1x-2x sizes available. I visit the store frequently and find that these sizes are often under stocked. The store is packed with lots of items, but unfortunately most show signs of wear/pilling and several items I pulled off the rack to look at smelled strongly of B.O. ( don't ladies wear deodorant anymore??) I have much better luck browsing online sales/clearance for new items at just about the same cost. read more

Staff could have been more welcoming, instead of standing there scoffing as I struggled with bringing my bags of clothes in by myself. When the items were ready the store wanted to purchase, when I went to look at what she was purchasing, she snapped at me to not get them out of order... and asked "what are you looking for"? Staff was snotty, customer service was horrible, will never be back... had a $125 item worn twice and I was offered $6 for, sorry no! Sold 15 barely used items for $45?! TERRIBLE! The staff was so condescending! I had taken in some items, more than half were new with tags. I shopped the store as I waited, and I noticed a horrible odor....that "not fresh" smell of dirty clothing that you may expect to find in the larger non profit thrift store. However, at the prices this place is charging, I would not expect this. Many of the items were damaged (stretched out, stained, "pilled, fuzzy"). I shop retail often, and I will never return to this place. When the time came to settle on the items I had brought in, I was appalled at what they offered! Not to mention the poor attitude of the staff. They were very snippy as I looked through my items trying to understand the prices they offered! (I was scolded not to mix up the items!?! Seriously? You are clerks at a resale shop. Get off your high horse. You have a lot of work to do to fix this place up. I was so appalled with the experience, I actually laundered my items when I brought them back home. read more
