I transferred my X-rays from Kremer (they stopped taking my insurance) to Chico Dental Arts. When I went to CDA they still had to take a coupe X-rays, so the bill was higher than what I expected for a cleaning. After discussing with CDA, they wiped the bill completely and we're really nice through the whole process. It was a very kind gesture that doesn't seem to happen much these days. I pay cash always but when I went in to have a crown fixed Dr Oster did a root canal no discussion it wasn't until I got into the car and saw the receipt.They did not do a bite test.So the tooth for a year was hitting the upper tooth . I complained of, pain now infected I went back . X-ray they said I had to have a 4,300 dollar implant ok they did not take tooth out of pain next day another dentist did.I went to my dentist in Healdsburg he saved my tooth. I was really anxious to go to the dentist since it's been a while, but they definitely made that disappear! Brooke was super friendly, informative of every step, and over all efficient at her job. Cyrus, the main dentist, did a really excellent job as well. He was very helpful with my questions and informative through the whole visit. Covid regulations are very secure and they do screenings and temp checks before you get in which is nice. Over all, I would recommend coming here if you are anxious because they are so good. Dr. Oster and the staff were friendly and absolutely wonderful. I've had quite a dental history and was able to get an appointment quickly and with ease for a chipped tooth emergency. The office was clean, lovely and mellow, and my appointment was quick ( 1 hour). I've had an extensive history with dentists and Dr. Oster was by far one of the best I've seen. He worked gently and effectively repairing my tooth to a better condition than it was before. Though I am only visiting the area I have seen dentists in and out of the continental United States but would recommend Dr. Oster in a heart beat to anyone in the area. I have been extremely pleased with Chico Dental Arts, including Dr. David Kyle, the professional staff, as well as my dental hygienist, Robin. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable and are glad to see you. Dr. Kyle is both friendly with a warm sense of humor, but is clearly extremely competent, capable, and experienced. My hygienist, Robin, is very skilled and knowledgeable and is full of information to help one care for their teeth and mouth between cleaning visits. Recently, one of my molars required a crown, the second one I've required. My prior experience with another dentist involved a traditional two visits involving a temporary crown while I waited for the permanent one a couple of weeks later while to be applied. During the wait, the temp broke off while I was on the other side of the country. With Dr. Kyle, however, the entire visit to prepare/apply the crown took a mere 90 minutes from the time I arrived to the time I left his office. Not only was it quick, the crown exactly matches the color of my surrounding teeth. I was extremely impressed with this process where he took the time to insure ever thing was perfect and felt right. At the end of the treatment, Dr. Kyle reached out to shake my hand and said, "Thank you for letting me take care of you". I had an emergency with a crown coming off on a Sunday night. I did not have a dentist in Chico as we only just moved back. Monday morning first thing, I called Chico Dental Arts and a lovely, kind and helpful voice answered on the other end. She was gracious and accommodating to see Dr. Kyle that morning. I was so grateful and appreciative that I could see a dentist so soon and as a brand new patient. The office is so calming and beautiful. I truly was impressed. Only a very short wait I was in the dentist chair and Dr. Kyle was at my side. Dr. Kyle was so nice & could tell I was quite nervous about the crown popping off, what the tooth looked like underneath & the expense. He immediately looked at the X-Ray, then the tooth and calmly stated the tooth is fine & just needs a new crown. He put the old one back on temporarily until next week when I see him again for the new crown. Apparently, everything is done " in house" no waiting, getting fitted, coming back. Love the staff, not so much Dr Kyle. He had "bad news" to tell me and basically told me very condescendingly that because of the prescription drugs I've taken after a stroke and 2 surgeries I was going to lose all my teeth! I started to cry and asked that my husband come in. Suddenly Dr. Kyle's whole demeanor changed into just one of the guys. My husband is a very large man and does physically intimidate other men. My lower denture is anchored to a bar, in turn anchored to implants. During routine cleaning, my hygienist, Donna, noticed a crack in the bar. She called Dr. Oster who examined the problem and made his recommendation. Then, the whole practice kicked in, got me the repairs needed in a timely manner. When the repaired bar came in Dr. Oster and Christina worked with skill and compassion to get things right. When I went back for an adjustment, Dr. Oster skillfully diagnosed the difficulty. I love Chico Dental Arts! They make going to the dentist a lot more pleasant. Very clean, friendly and efficient!

My partner went here when he had a filling pop out. They were able to fix it, but at the time it was days before his current insurance plan ran out (he turned 26). However, they told him that his insurance actually still covered procedures (he also had several cavities that needed to be done) and told him that if he wanted to come back and get the other cavities fixed that he would be covered. Well months later he goes in for his very last cavity filling (out of like 7) and they told him that the insurance called their office and informed them that he actually HASN'T been covered this entire time. I understand it is also the patient's responsibility to be knowledgeable of their insurance, but he would have never got any of these cavities filled because he just turned 26 and did not have his parent's insurance, BUT this office told him it was all going to be covered despite his 26th birthday passing. I would assume that they confirmed this with the insurance company before telling him that, but it seems like they didn't. Now he is stuck with a very large bill. Will not be going back here. read more

Excellent experience! I had to change dentists after the Camp Fire and I was a little nervous about what the experience was going to be like. But my worries were put to rest quickly. From the front office to the exam staff and throughout the experience I met incredibly nice people. Dr. Oster was incredibly attentive, genuinely concerned and answered all my questions. He also gave me some great advice. After my exam I saw Robin for my cleaning. She is an knowledgeable, caring, gentle dental hygienist. I would highly recommend her! Chico dental arts is the best dental office I've ever been to! I first went to them while I was uninsured last year when I needed a new retainer and they gave me a great deal. I started receiving dental benefits through my employer in January and have since gone to them for a cleaning and small cavity filling. I was in an accident and had my front tooth knocked out almost down to my gums. I went to this dentist and told them I needed to have my tooth fixed permanently. They suggested a bridge instead of putting an implant in like I asked for because I knew it would last. Well after a year my fake tooth starts turning black and they put in a bleach tablet inside my tooth,!!! That worked for a few months then it went black again. A few days ago the tooth came out completely while I was eating. I went in today and the dentist was so rude to me. I think I might take this to court. Please don't go here ever.!!!!!! read more
