The office manager, Beccca, came right out with a bright, friendly smile, and told me it was clear we needed a room with handicapped access. And she figured this out by the way I was moving and the fact that my wife was sitting in the truck waiting. It was a rough few days. Monday morning my wife hurt so much that we ended up calling 911. She spent the next couple of days in a hospital in Chico, diagnosed with a fractured hip (fortunately, no surgery required). Through my stay the entire staff; Becca; Ron, the owner; and the others went out of their way to help me as I ran back and forth between motel and hospital. At one point, unsure of when we would be getting out, the person who answered the phone told me he'd waive any cancellation fee if I ended up not needing the room that night. This is a NICE place! Clean, well-kept, fridge and microwave, grab bars in our room, freshly made beds, friendly stafff. It's gonna be our new stopping point on the way from Oregon to San Jose and back. Highly recommended! (And yes, we're safely home, with a visit to the orthopedist in two weeks, to monitor healing.)

Called this place based on reviews and was greeted with the owner doing a training session with a new employee. I knew I was in a cool place because her training was spot on from this teacher. Better yet we loved her wine- her back story is worth the stop if ever traveling on the I 5.

I am currently working with Bernadette, one of the knowledgeable travel agents in the Chico location, to plan an Italy trip for me and my boyfriend. Bernadette worked out a GREAT itinerary for us! All I had to due was tell her where we wanted to go and when our dates were and...presto! We had a trip basically booked. Of course, she would run everything buy me first before booking anything, but Bernadette found us a decently priced flight, great places to stay and awesome things to do! S She even let us use as many credit cards as we needed to divide up the costs! But the best part?!? Her service fee was less than $100!! I'm telling you, if you want some help planning a trip, check this place out. Bernadette made this trip easy, fun to plan, and so much more enjoyable! I haven't had to worry about a thing and I can't wait to experience all the fun we've planned for ourselves!

The owners keep the rooms and the grounds in immaculate condition. They are friendly, accommodating, and have created a little oasis up in Paradise. We lived up in Paradise, California for 21 years and had many times when we were holding events and had lots of relatives coming into town for a visit and needing a comfortable bed for the night. We heard nothing but rave reviews from all of them about the Ponderosa Gardens Motel. We needed a room one night and called up to book it. The front desk were very kind and the room rates reasonable. We loved the pool! It is clean and refreshing. The entire motel is appealing to the eye and you can tell that the owners have worked very hard to create such a meticulous motel. The fire up in Paradise, California in 2018 necessarily closed them down, but they worked very hard and made the motel even nice than it was before! Hard to believe they could outdo themselves, but they did and they are open for business again. Yippee! I'm going to be calling their reservation desk to make time this summer to get back up there and relax for a few days. It is quiet up in Paradise and it is such a lovely motel I've just got to get up there and check it out again. One more thing - Paradise is in the foothills above Chico, California, so if you're looking for a place to stay for an event in Chico, keep Ponderosa Gardens Motel in mind. It takes about 15 minutes to get from Paradise down to Chico, 20 minutes from Paradise to the Chico Butte College campus and 10-15 minutes to get to the main campus, 30 minutes to get from Paradise to the Chico State University.
