You would think they would have some compassion for someone who just lost everything in a wildfire, and to top it off i am disabled. I lived at this place for most of the summer. The bookkeeping was never right, I was overcharged…read moreevery time the rent was due. The rent was $650 and I was charged $700. Then, they fixed it and said I still owed them the $50 from the first month. The septic system was constantly overflowing under my unit. The cap was off and there was a giant pool of toilet paper and human waste under my unit. I complained about it and they used MY hose to "flush it out". That didn't fix it and when I complained again, nobody came and looked at it until after I had told them I couldn't take it and had to leave and they literally looked at it as I gave them the key back. At that point, I had already moved out days before, so it didn't stink that bad and they acted like it was no big deal. I have pictures I would post here if I could. Then, even though I had paid for the whole month and left on the 21st, I only received a deposit refund check for $68 of my $200 deposit. Then when I looked them up, I saw Matt Z.'s yelp review (read it). I was never informed of any of this. Paul seems like a nice guy, I never would have guessed. I'm sure none of the tenants with kids know what Matt Z said. Also, there was a domestic dispute in the trailer next door that was really bad, screaming outside, sheriff came, people went to jail. They were allowed to stay and I had to continue to hear them yelling at each other. I'm absolutely pissed about my security deposit and I'm going to sue anyone and everyone involved. I was owed money for rent over-payment. I left the place clean. I left it in better condition than I found it and Paul said it was fine. I got sick from the constant stench of human waste. Also, right before I left, another neighbor and one of the maintenance guys pointed out a "widow maker" - a giant branch disconnected from the tree- hanging right above where I parked my car. "It's been there for years, it's not going anywhere," is what the maintenance guy said. Yeah, until it falls and kills somebody... This place is cheap, but you get what you pay for. This is a message to the management, I will literally stand out in front of this place with a sign until I am paid back my deposit and rent over-payment. You messed with the wrong goddamn person this time. I sue everybody who wrongs me and I am literally undefeated. Prepare for war, you scumbags!

68 miles on the river in a canoe is no joke. Especially if you want to do it in 2 days. Somehow…read morewe thought it was a great idea to do just this over Memorial Day weekend. The put in is at Redding's Sundial Bridge and the paddling fun doesn't end until Los Molinos along the Sacramento River with one night spend on BLM land along the way. This trip was fun, strenuous, and long (we're talking paddling for about 8 hours a day). We really couldn't have done it without the kind folks at Driftwood RV Park. We drove in on Saturday and spent the night tent camping on the property. They have a number of spots for RV camping but a nice little meadow with a fire pit for tent camping. We were the only ones actually camping and we had the large space all to ourselves. There are bathrooms with showers that were free of charge. Clean and with soap. The property is along the water so we definitely had a chance to dip our toes in and enjoy some beverages. The next morning we rented canoes from Driftwood and they drove us to Redding for the put in point which was about 30 miles away. We got the paddles, life jackets, and backrest from them as well. They gave us some tips, drove our car back to the campsite and off we go. Our finish point was back at the campsite. The river was cold due to snow melt and there are some fun rapids (maybe class 1-2). There were parts that were a little harrowing but it was all good. We definitely didn't want to tip since we had all our backpacking gear with us and it would have been a huge hassle. You can fish and enjoy the views (we saw a few bald eagles) and enjoy what was actually a serene river. Even though it was a busy weekend, we didn't see any other canoes. We saw maybe 2-3 other campers and 3-4 boats. Definitely did not have the over-crowding issue of some popular spots along the river. Also really easy to choose a spot to camp along the river. Just pull over to whatever looks good. Jen and Jennifer from Driftwood were just some of the nicest people we have ever met. Really friendly and helpful and just great gals. We had a fun and safe time thanks to them! When you're looking for a little adventure, try this trip! Maybe a 3 day would be less strenuous but it's a great trip.

There is so much I could say about this campground, good and bad, but the most important part of…read morethis site are the hosts. I've traveled through here on multiple occasions and it has improved exponentially over the years, in large part due to the staff. Recently, on a trip south I had to stop in to get some shut eye and had all my pets with me. Two cats and a dog. The heat was pretty intense so I arrived late and cracked the window for my cats while I slept. One cat, escaped the vehicle in the night and was missing for a month and a half. The hosts were incredible... I was able to post fliers, they kept in contact with me and my pet tracker, and eventually she reappeared and we were reunited. The hosts went above and beyond to help me during this time, and I am so grateful they were receptive to this situation. As for the campground, the only negative things I do have to say would be other campers. It can be loud at times, but that is no fault of the hosts and the site itself. The staff keeps it clean, and the grounds are beautiful. The wildlife here is amazing, the trails are well maintained, and anyone from boat enthusiasts to bird watchers would enjoy the scenery. I will definitely be camping here again. (Most likely next time I wont bring my cats. If I can help it)

Upon arrival, the camp host comes over and greets you personally with a smile and meets you with that same smile every time you cross paths. You are given the code to the restroom both when registering and from the camp host. Watching the camp hosts they both go far beyond their volunteer job position as camp hosts. They were doing landscaping work throughout the day. Seems like bathroom hand-soap is no longer part of the park fee, but they have a container of soap on the counter. As for the bugs, that's just nature at its finest! Feel like a where everyone knows your name kind of place because their friendliness seems to inspire some of the other campers to do the same. Being a solo camper, it was nice to not feel invisible! I would give them a vote to be named best volunteers of the state. They both obviously take pride in their volunteer work! Thank you!!!

The Manager here, had been clearing spaces and giving priority to families affected by the fire. Eddie the manager is friendly and available when we have had questions. There is a laundry facility available for residents and a locked mail box area. The park has been quiet and other residents we have met have been friendly.

let's start with the PROS: -easy drive from Sacramento…read more-10-15 mins from Orland, so stores are nearby if you forgot anything, need more ice, drinks etc. -camp host is very nice -campsites are very clean -bathrooms have running water and are well lit CONS: -campsites are not at all level, so tent camping is tough (we set up our tent where the car should have been parked and parked in the parking lot, since that was the most level spot) -THE WIND ..gusts of 25 MPH...maybe more... it was BAD, thankfully our tent held up until 630a the day we were set to leave... once it collapsed we scrambled to pack all out gear and get out! -no swimming access to the lake, except for the boat launch... so there is NO way to spend a day hanging out near or in the lake unless you have a boat. -watch out for snakes

I reserved the group site which was really great for families with 20 or more. Really, really…read morespacious, our own parking lot and gazebo. Just be careful because there are spiders in the gazebo. Trees do provide light shade, around 7 picnic tables, 2 inside the gazebo, 3 surrounding the gazebo, and the other 2 spread out the site. Bathroom is about a 3 minute walk but seems like 6 because you are walking uphill. Bathrooms were surprising clean compared to other campgrounds I have been to. It does get stuffy in there on hot days and smells, but it was clean. Men's bathroom does need the light changed because the lights were flickering like a horror movie scene. For the group site, there is no personal trash can, big dumpster is located near the bathroom but on the opposite side towards the other sites. Campground offers privacy, the camp ranger was super cool. He gave us passes which gave us access to the day use areas to the campground and the other sister campgrounds (Eagle Pass, Angler's Cove, and Buckhorn). Orland Butte is the smaller campground of the other 2. Unlike other campgrounds, this group campground offers privacy. If there is a wildfire near the county, I suggest that you call the campground to see if the burn suspension affects the campground. This campground isn't part of the SRA campgrounds so you might be able to bbq with charcoal and have a campfire during fire season. Bring lots of flashlights because there isn't any street lamps at this campground and it does get super dark. My only complaint is that there isn't a swimming site, but that is where the passes the ranger issues come in handy. Keep those passes in your vehicle so you can drive to Angler's cove or the Buckhorn recreational area. My suggestion would be to book your campsites during Spring or towards the end of Summer because it gets super hot. I survived 2 days of 105 degree weather. It does get windy at night so an all-weather tent would work best. As for wild animals, we saw squirrels, lizards, and a bat. We did hear coyotes towards the hills. When using GPS to get there, make sure you type in Orland Buttes Campground, if not, GPS will have you going towards the office location. If you are still unsure, when you see the cemetery there's a street and that is the street you turn on. Stores and gas stations are 15 minutes away and cheaper compared to other towns with campgrounds. If you have an EV (specifically Tesla), closest charging station is 15 miles away in another city. I would suggest you prepare a map for charging station locations. Overall it was a great campground, really private, rangers were cool. The quiet hours are from 10 - 6, but the rangers are a lot more relaxed on that rule than other campgrounds. They were pretty cool about it as long as it doesn't get out of hand with the loud music. The only complaint is that there isn't a swimming site at the campground.
