Highly recommend and will be back again. Wait staff were very attentive, friendly and very helpful in going through the menu and daily specials. The traditional Swedish meatballs were very tasty and their daily special was absolutely delicious. Which was today lamb meatballs, mashed potatoes, peas, and lingonberries. From my understanding this is a very traditional home style comfort food meal. The food was very inexpensive and their local beer selections was very large.

Such great vibes at Chicky Grill. Has such a neighborhood, divey feel that I'm obsessed with. No judgments here, only great service and food. The staff both times we've gone for dinner was super nice (and helpful because my danish is rubbish). The food is exactly what we were looking for: authentic, low maintenance, and just plain yummy. We'll definitely be back! :)

What a great find! My friends and I were looking for authentic Danish food, and this did not disappoint. The staff was very friendly. The place is small, so getting a table right away might not happen. Expect a bit of a wait. I got the fish and chips, number 22. It was excellent. The danish sauce is the way to go. my friend got the pork meal (#2) on the menu). She thought it was excellent. Overall, cute ambience, excellent food, excellent prices.

Prices are very very reasonable, staff is super friendly, helpful and nice; food is delicious! Came here one night to grab a quick dinner since I wanted to try traditional Danish food. This place cooks it like grandma and retains its authenticity. I got the daily special of fries crispy pork with potatoes. The restaurant is pretty small and on a Friday night it was packed and I couldn't get a table so I opted for a take out order instead. The girl working at the front counter was super helpful and explained the menu to me in fluent English. My order didn't take very long to come out and she packed napkins and utensils for me as well. The food was delicious! The boiled potatoes came with a special creamy sauce that was very unique. Super large portions so I was really full and couldn't even finish my meal. So the whole meal costed me 75Kr, very inexpensive for this part of town. Highly recommend!!

    Steak Bernaise

I was checking out the hipster meat market area when I stumbled upon this place. They serve a good variety of Danish items, but I ended up getting the Steak Bernaise (which I guess is French, but it was very heavily advertised, and my friend said it was something she loved to eat). The store itself was a bit of a diner looking place, and while the food would be what I imagine Danish diner food to be, it was also quite excellent. The steak had an excellent creamy sauce, and was cooked impressively well for being in a diner like area. The potatoes also complimented the steak very well, helping to absorb the sauce and go together with the steak. Overall, an unusual find but I'm glad I ended up trying the food here, because it was really good!

    Flæskestegt Sandwich

We had the Jyllingeburger (burger from Jutland) and the flæskestegt sandwich. I didn't see an English menu, but the servers were very nice and easy to talk to. The burger is served with gravy and chopped beets. And the flæskestegt (Danish pork) is served with the rødkål, traditional red cabbage. Both were very tasty! Smoking is allowed inside and it can get a little crowded, however there is also outdoor seating. We also got a licorice/mint shot after I saw a few people order them. It was not bad for a girl who does not particularly love licorice. It doesn't burn your throat either :) Chicky's is located in the heart of the Meatpacking district, so it is the perfect place for a hearty meal before a fun night out

Used Yelp to find a small native restaurant. Chicky Grill is just the perfect spot. It is small, about 10 booths, not fancy. The welcoming attitude is terrific. I had the roast pork sliced thick with potatoes, red cabbage and a dark, dark gravy. This is the way roast pork should be. Have this with a local beer and tummy is very happy. I included the picture of the owner and staff. They will make your dinner a delight.

    Hash with beet salad

Nice little mom and pop restaurant in Vesterbro for some Danish food. I got the hash with beets and it was a hearty and giant portion. Outdoor seating, English menu, cash only.

My boyfriend and I felt very at home. We came to visit from the States and the bartender was very sweet and welcoming. She cleared a table for us right away and took our orders. The food was traditional Danish and good bar food. The price was good for the portions.

Mom loved this one, the best of the dishes between the three of us

Yes! If you're staying near central station (and even if you're not) this is the place to go! Reasonably priced ($10-$12 USD for a meal, $3 for beers) AND tasty with a wonderful atmosphere. I believe a lot of locals frequent this place, other cool little restaurants nearby. Wish I had found it sooner, would've stopped twice!

We loved the food but less staff maybe it is not good place for hygenic people . You should work a bit for yourself to be served ! Fork ,salt they are on the bar area .

First and foremost, the staff here are amazing! They introduced themselves and inquire about our likings and preference. In addition, they made recommendations that matched our likings while offering popular dishes that most recently ordered. Their mussels are absolutely amazing. The flavor paired with the green onion is on another holy level. Their seaweed butter and sourdough bread is also a must order. The crispiness of the crust is something other bakers need to contend with. Scallops had a nice Asian flavor to was hard to pinpoint but it definitely ruffled some thoughts about the origin of the sauce. Upon walking in, you'll be greeted with an ambiance that is sea themed and old pier like vibe. Don't be fooled by the decorations, no be distracted by the amazing drinks the bartender was crafting. This place is fun, has good vibes, and you'll wonder why you have not visited this establishment earlier. Great job team for delivering amazing service, food, and memories.

The food is prepared really well, and ingredients are super fresh though. Tried the little donut thing with caviar on top. That was the best bite of the meal. The caviar was so fresh. Was it worth the price? Hm, maybe not? The scallops were also great. Not overcooked. The fish and chips- great, moist. But hm, nothing really stood out. Also enjoyed the seaweed butter and fresh sour dough in the beginning. Overall, good experience. Nice service (people here are nice but not really warm- so it's an interesting vibe coming from the US). Probably great for a special occasion, but wouldn't go out of my way to eat here again.

The first 2 courses (halibut and soup) were amazing and refreshing. The main course (my colleagues had cod and rib eyed, not pictured). My brisket was nicely cooked but nothing surprising. Luckily, we were able to make a reservation for dinner for the next day! There is an option to go for a la carte or a pre-fixe menu of 4-6 courses. We opted for the 4 course which had a cured haddock, mussel soup with scallop, a stuffed cockerel and dessert. I paid the supplement to upgrade the main to a Hake. Overall, the food was delicious; the ingredients tasted fresh and paired well together but nothing was mind blowing. We did think the mussel soup was a bit too salty. I particularly liked the Hake, which was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside (I had Hake a few days prior and it was on the drier side so was a bit worried) - and particularly enjoyed it more than the cockerel! I also really liked the dessert - there were so many components to a simple looking dessert and everything was so tasty :) Service was just okay. The one thing to note is that they charge a service charge for credit card which isn't clearly stated on the menu anywhere. When we saw it on the bill and asked the waiter, she didn't seem to be fully understand it either but it is what it is
