The food is in a buffet line setting a server/ cashier seem to have a attitude but I think that's just her lol the food was good but not hot! I can't complain this was the closest soul food place we could find!! Unfortunately there's not a lot of soul food restaurants where we were I ordered my usual chicken mac and cheese greens and yams the chicken was ok but cold the greens had no flavor the yams was delicious cut into big chunks (I like big chunks) the yams omg I bet they would be delicious if they were made into sweet potato pie!! The waitress was on point had our drinks and condiments already at the table - bathrooms clean I give this place 7/10 if the food was hotter maybe 8 I wish I had pics there were signs NO phones I didn't wanna be rude and I was starving lol

The interior is simple and basic, tables and chairs with the serving counter line to the right as you walk in. The afternoon of my visit, I opted for the fried chicken with pinto beans, mac and cheese with cornbread muffins. Along with both banana pudding and chess pie, oh my! Simple, delicious and easy. Makes for a solid meal. Some reviews complained about the staff, but every one that I spoke to were kind and friendly enough. One of the ladies took my water glass to an open table for me while I paid for my lunch. A solid 4 Stars good home cooking at a fair value. They were thick, juicy, perfectly fried, and honestly didn't need any dipping sauce or condiment at all. They're some of the best I've had. Minnie and I both ordered the whole catfish with mashed potatoes and fried green tomatoes. We absolutely demolished our plates. The catfish was delicious, and the mashed potatoes tasted genuinely homemade. The brown gravy was rich and flavorful and paired perfectly with them. My mom ordered the 4-vegetable plate with fried green tomatoes, mashed potatoes, coleslaw, and fried okra. She loved everything on her plate. The staff was incredibly friendly, and the restaurant was busy the entire time we were there. There was a steady stream of both dine-in customers and takeout orders, which tells you a lot about the place's reputation. My only complaint is the wait time. Food takes a while to come out, especially if you're ordering fried items, but they do warn you ahead of time. The quality makes it clear they're cooking to order, so if you decide to visit, just be prepared to be patient. If someone asked me where to take an out-of-town guest for authentic Southern cooking, G's Country Kitchen would be at the top of my list. The food is homemade, comforting, and exactly what people imagine when they think of classic Southern cuisine. Overall, the food was fantastic, the service was welcoming, and it's easy to see why G's Country Kitchen is a go-to spot for homestyle country cooking. We'll definitely be back.
