I have eaten at this restaurant several times. Lately not so good. I fully understand we are under stressful times this is why I'm not giving up on my favorite place. But how you order RIBS AND GET NO NAPKINS OR WIPES OR A FORK!!! NOTHING. January 24, 2021 I ordered ribs again same thing no condiments not 1!!!! No napkins, no wipes!!! No fork!!! Price went up. Ribs did not taste good today. I'm giving up on this place.

Came in while we were doing our laundry a couple doors down. MADE A TERRIFIC CHOICE. Their ribs were flavorful! They also had fried Mac and cheese bites that was sent out to my son. Shout out to two awesome guys working this morning! I love some good crispy fries and they were the crinkle kind too. We had it with a side of mash and it was soft and didn't have any lumps. We also ordered some mozzarella sticks that was cheesy and again super crispy. Just the way I like it. My SO got a delicious turkey hoagie. We ended up bringing the hoagie home with some fries and one rib. Overall a terrific meal and wonderful customer service. We'll definitely be back!

It is amazing how different the fried chicken from one Chicken Holiday can be from another location. If there is a master recipe or any regional organization no one is checking for consistency of product, nor customer satisfaction. This store is clean and bright and offers seating for many people in their 8 booths. The workers are friendly and engaging. No complaints there. I ordered the "Snack" with breast, wing and fries. It was cooked up for me and arrived at my table in less than 10 minutes. First thing I noticed was that the styro plate was too small for the serving presented. It was difficult to pick up anything without some fries falling onto the table. Second, the first bite of the breast while juicy and fresh, was secondary to the poor quality of the coating (which, after all, is what fried chicken is all about). It was the consistency of a shell around the meat, rather than an integral part of the experience. It was certainly crunchy, but lacked the right texture and spices. It had little flavor and acted more as a sealant to hold in the juice, than as the best part of the meal. I prefer the skin coated with something granular and crumby that possesses a spice combination that excited the tongue and then mixes with the chicken to become a unique plate that is so addicting. My snack lacked any of that, and was disappointing. This compares poorly with the sister shop in Langhorne, Pa. There, while not nearly as clean and without much seating, the chicken has the qualities I enjoy and lead to my loyalty. Maybe these stores can compare notes and secure the recipe which seems to have eluded this franchisee.

I have two enduring complaints about this place. First: it would be nice if they had a proper website, with a menu and prices. Their website, listed here, is dead. Second: I hate mayonnaise salads, and most of their combos come with a choice of either macaroni or potato salad. It's an upcharge to get fries instead, which is lame, but worth it so I don't have to deal with the horrifying tub of goo in my bag. And their fries are pretty good, too! Now that is out of the way... Many years ago, my sister worked at Chicken Holiday in Howell, and my favorite nights were when my mom decided not to cook, called my sister at work, and asked her to bring home an assortment of chicken, ribs, and sides. With such fond memories, I have no good excuse for waiting so long to check out the Hamilton location. I'm sorry. I really am. I don't understand the negative reviews: I'm not sure if they caught the employees on a bad night, or if the reviewers were expecting haute cuisine, or what. But I'm baffled by those reviews at the moment. For now, this place is in our regular rotation, so I may learn of a problem, but for now, "Yay, I'm a fan." Chicken Holiday is not the type of place you'd bring a date; there's no need to dress up. They aren't competing with Settimo or John Henry's, but rather, KFC (which now appears to be defunct); it's a welcome alternative to pizza or burgers on a night you don't want to cook. My son and I have picked up dinner here several times in the last month. We both become giddy on the way over, and the ride home is torment while we wrestle to control our impulses against the aromas in the car. The staff is friendly and efficient; they care about satisfaction, and want to get the order right. Today, we ordered for a crowd, and it was the first time we've had a slightly imperfect order - nothing egregious, not a deal-breaker, but worth nothing. Only one meal came with a dinner roll, which was a bummer because they are delicious - we should have had several. But, in the interest of diplomacy, CH staff members were dealing with a difficult customer, who kept walking behind the counter, and helping himself to ice; pestering the staff for things like one chicken finger, cut into small pieces, and 6 French fries, etc. He was relentless, and I would not have known what to do with him either, in the staff's shoes. But the result for us was a distracted team and a meal was a little tight on value. Quality-wise, though, no complaints at all. I know what it takes to make good fried chicken. It is not easy or quick, except, perhaps, in the places that mass-produce it, like KFC. Chicken Holiday makes everything to order, so don't expect KFC speed. Chicken Holiday chicken is juicy when it should be, and crunchy where it ought to be. I love their fried mushrooms, and my son loves their whole wings with buffalo sauce. It makes me happy to know we have a few wings - buffalo and regular - leftover in the fridge for lunch tomorrow! We'll definitely be back soon.

What I got instead was an existential paradox that came in a compostable box. The Chopped Cheese Loaded Waffle Bowl was a triumph of entropy. Ground beef, waffle fries, lettuce, pickles, and some house-made sauce that probably had no right being that good. It was sloppy. It was a mess. It looked like what happens when a cook gives up on the idea of neatness and embraces chaos as a culinary principle. It was also delicious. I ate it with the same mixture of shame and pleasure that one feels watching late-night television while knowing there are better things to do. Then there were the wings. I had ordered five of them, boneless, with Mango Habanero sauce. The wings were not terrible, but the house should not be named after them. The chicken tasted like something that had forgotten its own purpose. The sauce, advertised as a union of spice and sweetness, was neither. It sat there on the wings like a politician's promise, shiny but insubstantial. My wife ordered a build-your-own chicken sandwich and cheese fries. She said both were fine, in the same tone people use to describe the weather or a dental cleaning. Fine is not bad, but fine is not what one hopes for when dinner arrives in a paper bag smelling like grease and glory. Still, the Loaded Waffle Bowl was enough to earn a return trip. I would go back for it the way a moth goes back to a porch light, knowing full well it might burn me. Next time, I'll try the bone-in wings. I'll give one of their nineteen sauces another chance to find meaning in the void. Four stars. Because life is messy, the bowl was good, and hope dies harder than it should.

In this case, my son and I went up to WingStop in the late afternoon, and it was set up for take-out only, understandably. There were two parties ahead of us, waiting, and one group had yet to order and was growing impatient. There was a crew in the kitchen of about 3, and two more employees came in around 5 p.m. The manager was sitting just out of reach, toying around on an iPad, in the area that was once the dining room. The customer ahead of us who had not ordered yet, challenged the manager. "Why aren't you helping up here?" The manager claimed that the business was not set up that way for her to help: she didn't have a register login. The customer persisted: "You could help pack orders, or get people their beverages?" The manager was polite, but ridiculous, and said, "I'm sorry, it doesn't work that way." Honestly, who knows what she was doing: she could have been playing Angry Birds, but she could have been making schedules or communicating with her corporate overlords, but really, whatever she was doing could have have waited until a less busy time. What manager puts computer work above customers? Two more groups came in to order, and two DoorDashers came in to pick up orders, and the manager continued to sit. The tension was palpable. Everyone just waited. And waited. And waited. I asked my son if he wanted to bail, but he explained that he had watched a TikTok video review of the establishment and the TikTokker said it was worth the wait. The same frustrated customer addressed the manager again: "You're telling us you can't do a single thing to help?" The manager replied, "Thank you for your comment." I could see there were a couple of cooks, along with a young lady who started getting beverages and packing napkins and such into the bags that were starting to come up front. But the star of the evening was a very harried young man who handled a little bit of everything on the front end: dispatching the orders to the Dashers, taking orders, assisting the cooks, making sure everyone had straws and napkins, and patiently explaining the sauce and spice options to anyone who had questions. He was a thoughtful and impressive kid and is the reason why this place gets 3 stars instead of 2; if it were not for the manager, this would be a 5 star review, for the type of establishment it is. My son ordered wings with a spicy rub, and I went for the tenders glazed with Korean bbq sauce. We both got fries and a drink to complete the meal. It did take a looong time to prepare the meal, and because we would have to use Olden Avenue during rush hour to get home (a congested unpleasantry even during the Plague Era), we opted instead to head over to TCNJ where we found an open picnic table behind Brewster dorm (where I lived for two years, many moons ago). It was such a nice night and I'm sure my newly-minted teenage son only tolerated my tales from the Lakeside dorms...and The Pit...but he tolerated them without fuss, and a bit of wing sauce smudged on his face. He said they were some of the best wings he ever had. My boneless meal was a perfect blend of sweet and spicy, a lovely marriage of garlic and ginger, and the fries provided a delicious carb-y base to sop up all the sauce. We were very happy with the food and have talked about going back again some time soon. We definitely will, and I will do so with the hopes of bumping WingStop up a star or two. Hopefully management gets it act together.
