The waiter kept strolling by, making nervous chitchat, but I could tell something was wrong in the kitchen and he was tap dancing around the situation. Then food finally started coming out and when it did, it went to at least three tables who came in a good 20 to 30 minutes after I did. When I was finally able to get my server's attention, he swore for at least the fifth time that my food should be out "any second." I waited 10 more minutes and I figured since I had invested an hour and 10 minutes and not gotten anything but a glass of water and a stale biscuit, if my food ever showed up, it probably was gonna be even more disappointing, so I got up, and let the host to know that I was leaving. She gasped and looked at me like I was fleeing from paying a $2000 bill, but I literally got nothing in that hour and 10 minutes - there was most certainly no Customer Service. Everything was fresh, the hot foods were hot, not warm or dried out, from sitting around in a warming cabinet, for hours, and the potato salad was well chilled, not room temperature. It is things like this that I notice, and make a difference. The only thing I was not keen on was the rib. It was extremely soft almost mushy and literally falling of the bone. I know thats how many people like their ribs. I just prefer my ribs to be a little less well done and have a bit of a pull to the meat to get it off the bone, so I am not going to ding them for that. The counter where you order and get your meal is clean, bright and cheerful, the staff are all really pleasant, friendly and helpful. The dining room is fairly large and roomy, with plenty of space to relax and enjoy your food. Overall, a really good dining experience and we both agreed we would dine there again.

My go-to Chinese spot in Hot Springs! It's nothing fancy, but it always hits the spot. Since the…read morepandemic, they've really streamlined their carry-out system. That's what I usually do, though there is space for casual dine-in as well. There is a separate counter for picking up carry-out orders next to where you place an order, which reduces congestion. The food itself is consistently high quality, generously portioned, and reasonably priced. Expect leftovers (though I do think the dine-in portions are slightly larger than carry-out). I rarely branch out because the sesame chicken is just too good, but I've also enjoyed the chicken fried rice, chicken and broccoli, and chicken lo mein. Carry-out always manages to stay fresh and warm. They have an impressive selection, so there's something for everyone. Wok Express is always on my list when I'm back in town! I definitely miss it when I'm gone.
