The fact that there are people working tonight 1/27/26 7:15pm (currently freezing temps and icy roads), serving us food is 5 star in and of itself. But they were all very nice and friendly which made it even better. I would be mad having to work, but they didnt show it all. Just not a good concept, at least for their fried chicken. Way too crunchy to bite though to get to the tenderness, which wasn't really so. Not even as good as Church's, which is by no means great. This was a disappointing experience I ordered the #1 and a snack pack. What's shown in the picture is the #1 I ordered. These chicken tenders weren't even tenders they were literally nuggets. I'm not one to complain but when I paid $12 for one item and I get these it was honestly very saddening. Out of the 6 tenders only one was a decent size. It was a beautiful Spring day on a Saturday. My cousin was in the mood for his favorite, Chicken Express. We decided to head that way right at lunch time. We discovered an empty parking lot and an empty restaurant. Service was laid back with satisfactory food. Let me express myself. A light skinned black girl with pretty eyes and braids, took our order. My cuz and I messed up while ordering and she was very patient with us. Of course, I apologized on my behalf. Employees where just chilling and hangout in the kitchen. The order taker forgot to give us our drinks and went to check something in the kitchen so, it took a little bit, before I got my cup. I needed my drink right away bc, I was hangry. I wasn't sure how long the wait would be either. Lol. They have their own swagger about doing things and it's not express. Lol. She gave my cup to me. Unfortunately, I did not see the Tea fountain. Silly old me. Smh. It was my first time at this location. I asked her for some Sweet Tea. She ended up getting the Tea from behind the counter. I'm so glad she did. It was super sweet! Just the way, I like it! My cuz and I were the only ones in the restaurant. It was spacious and clean in there. I had just enough time to scope the scene out. Then my food arrived hot and fresh. My Chicken Strips were crispy, crunchy, and sticky? They were overcooked. This made them dry and stringy. The Chicken was sticking to my teeth. I had to ask myself, is it time for my six month teeth cleaning? Lol... My gravy was bland. However, my Corn Nuggets were impressive! It was a mixture of sweet Cream of Corn with regular Corn fried in batter. My roll was super sweet and had be craving it the next day. I got admit today I had my favorite livers in my chicken. Well I've been going here since I got to the area. I love this place until the day. That was some nasty nasty livers I've ever had and nasty white yellow chicken. I don't know what they did, but that was my last time I'll ever be there. I am deaf. I write the note for order. That's different three foods. I showed him a note that I ordered and bought it. Then, I checked the receipt, but just two foods. I told him where one missed food. He said the same way. I said no. Get another number 1 again. He said again. I was very mad and tried to explain to him. I said another #1 and no spicy. Service is poor. Ordered spicy tenders, payed and waited about 20 minutes at the window to come to find out they didn't know I ordered spicy and they didn't have any. Like seriously how do you not know I ordered spicy? Anyways, I waited 30+ min for a 4 pc spicy tender meal. I get home and realized half of my meal I payed for is missing. I go again on a different day 20 minutes before they close, they refused to serve me spicy tenders because "they where out for the night". When in reality they have them on the menu so they can make them. & I get it everyone wants to go home on time and I would've understood if I came by 5-10 minutes before closing time but 20 minutes is enough time to serve what the client desires. I went on Memorial Day, the restaurant was not busy at all. The food was great but the tea in the dispenser tasted old. Like if the dispenser needed to be washed out. Chicken tenders were pale - like almost looked pink. Threw the whole box away. Almost $10 for gross chicken.

This location is a joke. I usually order the two piece chicken with a biscuit, not a roll. I order two chicken breasts but they always say they only have one!!! When they said I would have to wait 15 minutes for the other breast, I said I would wait. I ended up waiting 24 minutes!!! Instead of putting a biscuit in the box they put a roll. They couldn't even get the simple order right! What kind of chicken restaurant doesn't have more than one chicken breast ready to serve?! This isn't the first time this has happened. One of the higher priced locations in the area, despite being one of the more mediocre tasting locations in the area. I don't think I have ever gotten hot/fresh fries here, and I have been just shy of a handful of times, hoping it was a fluke. The tea is bland. Those elements combined make the "college area tax" even more upsetting. If you have the option of going to another location, I recommend doing so. read more
