What I got was 2 hard as concrete cold strip like things and 5 hard as rocks OLD cold nugget like pieces, some smaller some SMALLER than the small pieces. This chicken was so OLD and HARD That it literally hurt my teeth to chew it!!! The only reason they didn't get this trash back was because I was already at my desk when I discovered this disrespectful meal! What I don't understand is why the wait is so long . Super-duper and quick lunch today through the Chicken Express drive-thru. My wife and I were finishing up a couple of medical appointments and Chicken Express was right where we needed it and even on the correct side of the road. At the peak of lunchtime, service was crisp and the tenders we enjoyed in the care were delivered to us at just the right temperature. The Chicken Express associate who took our order and help us at the window was so friendly. What a great experience we had. We'll definitely stop in again at this location when we're in the area. read more

So I want to start by saying being young and having your first or second job will come with a lot of learning experiences and curves and I get that . With that being said learn to read the room . My sister and I drove from Houston to Arlington to visit family for the holidays . We order a two piece chicken (leg and breast) with Mac two piece chicken (leg and thigh) with okra a gizzard with corn and an apple pie . 3 large drinks . We pulled around to pay . We waited about 2-3 minutes & were then asked to pull up . No problem we then proceed to was it about another 10 minutes or so . We check over the food they're missing the okra and the mashed potatoes so after extra time to get the order right it's wrong . Fine we go inside to get the stuff my sister asks did you get your apple pie ? I didn't see it in the bag I went back in & ask the girl can I have one . She's adamant to the point of almost going back and forth with me that she put it in the bag . Girl it's a $1 pie and yall done already messed up my order & I've already been waiting just give me the dang pie . They gave my sister a leg and thigh after she requested a breast and thigh & we weren't even complaining about that . . I had to call my sister to prove to her we had looked & didn't see the pie . She then grabs the pie with an attitude and puts it on the counter & just walks off no I'm sorry for the confusion our apologies for messing up your order nothing . I get to the car my sister finds the pie & I just return the one she gave because I wasn't trying to get a free pie I just wanted the pie I paid for and multiple things were already missing I mean who wouldn't be frustrated if their food came out like that and man I would have paid for another pie if I wanted another pie . Going back and forth after yall already messed up and having an attitude with me is crazy . So we just got to our hotel .....guess what NO STRAWS ! Incredible . Just all around unprofessional . Just recently went with mi vato Luis and had to wait a bit as it was busy and we ordered plenty of food, which was a given. What really stood out to me was how well the manager handled a customer's actions of getting mad for not having his food in time as they were working hard. They all deserve a raise. First time visiting this franchise. After ordering, I saw workers putting the pan that holds chicken on the floor. I not sure if that's regular practice but it doesn't look hygienic. I asked to speak to the manager to tell her about it. I got the sense that it's not a problem cause she didn't return to give a explanation. Well, the video shows the deal. Great customer service and drive thru experience. The person taking orders was polite, on-the-ball and prompted me with side items, additions, and the best "bang for my buck" when trying to add in some extra sides. This is a large Chicken Express size-wise and while the line was long I flew through. Someone walked out to me to read through and confirm my order, take my payment, and hand me my drink while I was second in line and the person in front of me had a longer order. Chicken express is a great restaurant, and on most occasions love my visits and the food that I get. Contradicting that we have my experience at this location. There was about 5-6 people on a shift that day but it seemed that only one of them was actually working. Food: I got the fish fillet meal (which is one of my favorites to get at chicken express, other than the chicken) and it was under cooked and under seasoned. It also took a great time for us to get our orders in (there was a line of 4-5 people, but the workers were not taking our orders). I felt robbed because I know how to bread and fry fish, what's the point of going to chicken express when I could've cooked the same unseasoned, ok fish, for the same time. Me and my two buddies all got sweet tea, and i loved it, it was over sweetened and a beautiful drink. But my two buddies (who wanted to come to chicken express only because of the tea) were upset on how it literally only tasted like sugar, contrary to their previous visits at other locations that had tea that tasted like tea. Restaurant: The restaurant has plenty of space, and even though there was a lunch rush, we had no issue of getting a table. My only issue would be that there were not any clean tables, practically every table was dirty, greased, and unappealing to look at. Also at this location they do not have the drink/tea in the dining area. You have to ask a worker for a refill, and on days like this when there were not many people working, I got looked at and ignored on multiple occasions. Service: I have practically already explained my experience with the service. But this will probably be the main reason I wouldn't come back to this location. I hope that the managers/owner of this chain not only teaches the workers there that they get paid to work, not play around and ignore customers, I also hope that he hires workers who work. I like this chicken express. The staff has always been good to me and I've never had a bad experience with the food. The first time I came into the location, it was easy to find parking and there is plenty of seating for busy and non busy times. I ordered the number 1 for about 8 bucks and received a large drink, two rolls, a side dish, and 4 tenders. The chicken has always been hot and fresh and I love to use the Serendipity spicy Seasoning. That stuff is magical. I bought the large version so that I can season my own food when I BBQ at home. It makes a fantastic addition to any dry rub. Other than the chicken, the rolls and my sides have always tasted hot and just out of the oven/fryer. There have been times when I've gone to other chicken expresses and its just been disgusting how stale and cold it tastes. These guys have NEVER failed me. I can't give it 5 stars because I wouldn't say it's a five star experience (I mean it's chicken express) but as far as fast food goes, this place is great! read more

I swear this is the worst chicken express. They always take forever and they can Never Get my order right. I pay for a family size mashed potatoes and they never give me the right size. One time they even gave me 9 small gravy sides 9!! Like I'm sorry but I don't like gravy THAT MUCH! And today I came again simply because this is the only close one by our house and the kids wanted it. We ordered at the speaker box because obviously that's what you do and then one of the coworkers comes out asking "did y'all order" nah we just stopped by to smell the chicken. Then when we get to the window we noticed some employees had gloves and some didn't and I asked WHY?? and her response was "oh it's ok we have tongs" oookkkaaayyy. We went through the drive thru Saturday evening. After finishing our meals at home, my niece found a purple lid in the ice of her drink as she was eating the ice. She text me totally grossed out, we blew it off as a tea lid fell in the ice machine and ended up in her cup. About 15 minutes later I have another text, she had come across 2 more. She went and showed her parents and they discovered 3 more. That's a total of 6 SIX lids in her drink. She got up Sunday morning and all the ice was melted and there was 1 more. Now we had a total of 7! I'll excuse 1, things happen, 2-3 we aren't going to be happy about it but 7?? I tried emailing the store owner, the email is bad, tried calling a few times yesterday & today and no answers. So I figure I would warn others while I'm emailing Chicken Express corporate. That could have been a dangerous situation should niece have been a little younger and put the lid in her mouth, that's a serious choking hazard. The cashier checked and said oh we have your order. It'll be another 15 minutes. Unfortunately, we have spent so much money at this location due to the convenience of it being right down the street from our house and have been disappointed time and time again. Shame on us. There have been several...and I mean SEVERAL occasions where we have held our tongue and just dealt with the incorrect orders, left out food, cold food and the worst of all...hair wrapped around a chicken strip (picture attached)...but today, believe it or not, was the last and FINAL straw. Ever since they went under new management/ownership, I can count on one hand the times when our order has been right and without any issues. Pathetic. It's fast food for heaven's sake...how hard can it be? Today...after a long 14 hour shift at work, I just wanted to enjoy a fast, hot meal that I didn't have to cook. Well, apparently we the customers, are asking for too much. After my boyfriend and I were more than halfway through our meal, he saw a BUG crawling in the middle of his coleslaw! A BUG! (picture attached, ZOOM IN) Since the issue with the hair wrapped around the strip, we were given the District Manager's contact info and when we reached out via text...with image attached, he was more than happy to replace our meal....REALLY!?!? I just spent $18.24 for food that had a BUG in it and you go to your typical response of "let me replace your meal for free"??? I don't know about you, but I wouldn't want to go back to a place that has bugs in their food...so when we politely said "thank you, however we would just like a refund due to all of the issues we've been experiencing," he then called and said we would have to bring the rest of the food up there TODAY and they would do a refund for us. First of all, I'm pretty sure it's a health code violation to accept someone's food that has been touched (and by this point, THROWN IN THE TRASH) back through your drive-thru window, secondly, it was less than 30 minutes until they closed and I have to be at work again tomorrow at 4:45 am and lastly, frankly...HECK NO. So again, my boyfriend was polite and said "no, thank you, we'll just take our business elsewhere and dispute the charge on our card." Well...I'm not as polite...I work in the customer service industry, and although he was very nice over the phone, to not offer any other sort of option for refunding our money is unacceptable. Don't tell me that's the only way to get a refund. I've had to do $10,000 refunds over the phone...so you're only fooling yourself if you think that line is going to work on me. As soon as the charge officially is processed on my card, I will be disputing it and I am blasting this review, ALONG WITH IMAGES (if they allow them), on every site possible. New management/ownership means nothing. This place has gone so far downhill, in my eyes, I'll never waste another cent there and I recommend you go somewhere else too. I am really chocked by the encounter I just experienced. While at Chicken Express, the service started off very well. The young man over the intercom was very nice an professional. Due to ordering gizzards, I had to pull up and wait for a few minutes, which was no problem. Before leaving the window, I asked the gentleman if he could make sure I had some serendipity in my bag. Of course, he said he would. After waiting for maybe 5 minutes , not long at all, a little boy with dreads brings out my food. I look in the bag, and I did not see any serendipity. So I asked the little boy if any was in there, and he says, " I don't know. I didn't pack it." So, I asked for some, and he tells me that it was some inside then proceeded to ask me to drive back around to the window? Like wtf, so I said no, and he shrugged his shoulders and walked back in. I wanted to believe that he was joking , and I just knew this little boy did not just refuse to get something that they forgot. So as I am taking off my seatbelt, a young girl comes out with the serendipity saying that another guy put it inside the box on the bottom. Well, how am I supposed to know that without being told? Then, once I got home I looked in the boxes and guess what? NO DARN SERENDIPITY. So I went through the drive through and ordered the number 4 combo which is 2 pieces of chicken, a roll and a side and requested the 2 pieces of chicken to be thighs. Got up to the window to pay and they told me if I was to order just dark meat it would've been $5.00 instead of the 8:29 or whatever it is. So they realized I had ordered 2 pieces of dark meat but because I didn't use the words "Dark Meat" they were charging me for the combo. I told them that doesn't make any sense. They new I ordered 2 pieces of dark meat they should have only charged the $5.00 for the dark meat combo. They said next time just order all dark meat and then request 2 thighs. Service here always puts me in a good mood, as the employees always try hard to put a smile on your face. Overall, very consistent food that never disappoints me. I came here a few times and got stuck behind people in the drive-thru who order a lot of stuff. Every time this happened, a staff member would come out and bring the food to my car so that I wouldn't have to wait until I came up to the window. There's several fast food options in this corner, but I usually go here or the Sonic next door because those are the two locations with the friendliest employees. Food is also great! read more

Food is generally pretty good, though the fish is ALWAYS overcooked. On the other hand, the service is abysmal. Rude, impatient, and careless. There are a couple of employees that typically work the drive through that are awful. If you work in customer service, eye rolls should not be a part of your language. I do want to point out the young man that generally works in the dining room during the day on weekdays - he may be a manager. He's always cool, polite, and attentive.
