And also, let's just say hypothetically that in the past you've snuck out to get that midnight meal you know you shouldn't have, but you've got to put something in your stomach or you'll starve all night. And let's also imagine that on your way home, you spot a Chicken Cottage and think to yourself, "Self, it ain't Popeye's or KFC, but it looks really good, so go on and just try it"... and so you do. So in this hypothetical story, you get a leg and a thigh - cause who can screw that up - and you go on your merry way home to eat it. You get home, you get a towel (not a napkin) to ensure you don't get any drippy grease on your clothes or the furniture (because you know the best fried chicken is always greasy) and take a much anticipated big ass bite into the thigh. So I read the review below before going to this location. Despite the bad review, I went anyways because I was craving hot, grilled chicken all weekend. I ordered the half chicken meal which comes with chips and a drink for about £6. When my order was ready, I looked at the chicken and it was more than a little burnt. I could still eat it but I wasn't happy about it. It's true, their chicken is dry. This shouldn't even be an issue because this place specializes and only sells chicken, so why the hell do they even have issues with DRY chicken? Looking for reasonable priced great tasting chicken. Then you can do worst than go here. With most meals being around 3-4 pound and instant service it a good place to come. Obviously not the healthiest but a little of what's bad for us is good. All the usual friend chicken shop things such as chicken and beef burger hot wings and apple pies and a little more pricey but taste a lot better than most of these dodgy dirty cheapo ones. Infact id go as far to say as good as the famous one that comes from Kentucky. Potit staff too which is unusual for these types of places. read more

Not only did the young lady on the phone have an attitude when I tried to explain I'd been calling for a while and they're may be a problem with the phones, you then sent the wrong order to which couldn't be eaten at all due to allergies, for me to have to speak to 3 people, 2 of which (the first person I spoke to and the last person the manager) were very rude. Was told I'd be getting a refund to which I was then refused because the manager didn't want to spend £3 out of his pocket because food hub take that from him. I then went through food hub like the manager told me to and they told me I had to go through the restaurant for it. So the manager clearly lied to me to not have to give a refund back because they can't get a customers order right. We come to chicken cottage for food weekly. We don't usually have it delivered and the one time we do, you've now lost a regular customer. Poor manners, poor service. Foods amazing. Just a shame about the terrible customer service and the horrendous attitudes on the staff member and manager. read more

Everyone knocks and has a laugh about Chicken Cottage but starving after a long day out and about and not wanting to spend a great deal I decided to try it for myself. Wow! The chicken wrap was genuinely delicious and the French fries were slim and crispy - just the way I like them! I used to be a regular customer of this branch. Not after today though. I just had take away, fillet burger meal which includes a drink and fries. The burger was just about edible, the fries were old and rock hard. What's happened here, has this branch had a change of owner, bloody disgusting. read more
