If you are looking for gluten free fried chicken this is the place. They also have gluten free beer. The staff is extra helpful, and will advise what else is gluten free on the menu. However, what I think they do well is their fried chicken and waffles (which unfortunately is not gluten free). Although, it is a bit pricey for fried chicken, but it is massive, if you get the original waffle burger, that consists of fried boneless chicken, optional bacon, American cheese, served with house BBQ, mayo, hot sauce & Canadian maple syrup between two freshly griddled waffles, you can easily share this between two, with fries and salads, and may be a portion of chicken wings. Otherwise, go for the early bird £8 menu, before 6pm, which comes with fries or slaw. Add another couple of pounds for a drink or doughnut. Good location opposite Camden Stables Market, the atmosphere is fun with a nice clean, lively environment. The staff are also very friendly and welcoming. read more

Free range chicken from a farmer in Yorkshire and surprisingly very good veggie option. We had a chicken burger and a salad bowl. The salad had beetroot falafel, guacamole, a bean salad, a rice one and a carrot one. Really taste and filling! Friendly staff! read more

In a nutshell: Terrible Chicken Wings with Blue Cheese Sauce: Dry and tasteless. The glazing was super salty, so salty that it was unbearable. The blue cheese sauce reminded me of expired Helmanns Waffle Burger: Disgusting. 4 small waffles covered in ketchup and mustard, some maple syrup, couple of bacon strips and some chicken in the middle. It was terrible. Fries: What could possible go wrong right? Exactly. They were tasteless, oily and pre-fried. Price: we paid 30 pounds for dry chicken and some waffles. Ridiculous. Better take a flight to Belgium and bring the waffles home. Bottom line: Don't let the trendy decor fool you on your way to the Roundhouse. This place is utterly terrible. read more

We ordered take out through Deliveroo. Everything arrived still piping hot (slightly too hot to eat, we had to let it cool down). Some chicken and some wings each and a side of fried pickles. The wings were okay, I think we'll order the ones with sauce on the side next time as they were just a little too messy for our liking. The actual meat is very good. The chicken though, that's a winner, all of it was great, juicy, tasty... just what you wanted from fried chicken. The accompanying sauces worked well too. Fried pickles - now I prefer them sliced into little rounds and then fried, but these are done as spears, easier to do I guess as you can buy them as is. All in all, good fried chicken, and I'd like to do a sit down there sometime. read more

Dude...let me just say that the chicken and waffles are to die for. I got it with bleu cheese and the hot sauce on the side, which I used for dipping the chicken into. The waffles come with their special butter dip and maple syrup. It's an unlikely combo but the sweet & savoury go down super well together. Worth a visit if you like chicken and waffles! Had lunch here on a Saturday. I had a burger, while my boyfriend had wings. I like that fact that the chicken is free range. The thigh in my burger was tasty, though drowned out a bit by some overly aggressive bacon. I think I should have just gone for the chicken pieces - keep it simple. Also thought the glaze on my boyfriend's wings diminished the crispiness, so I'd stick to sauces. Although I thought the restaurant looked cool from outside, it was missing a certain je ne sais quoi inside. There were other people there, but it felt quite dead somehow. Part of that might have been the seating, which for most people is wooden stools, some of them high - it felt like very transient seating, the kind that encourages you to stay only for a functional period of time. Slight disclaimer that I know the owners-But damn this is good chicken. Before Camden opened we used to go to Shoreditch and actually had a birthday party for our then three year old in their downstairs area. Party was fantastic and the food is even better. Came here on a busy Saturday early evening to catch up with a friend. We chose Bird for its great reviews and extensive gluten free options and were seated in the window on stalls next to another two customers. It was fairly cramped but we understood that the restaurant was busy and were conveniently by the coat rack to keep an eye on our bags and coats. We were well looked after by our waiter who answered all our questions in detail and made several helpful recommendations. Our food took quick a while to arrive but it was worth the wait and so delicious! I had chicken with a plum sauce to dip and chips with cheese and a hot sauce on them. Oh Bird, how you let me down! I was so excited about trying this place but it was mostly very disappointing. Interior: cheap coordinating orange and grey everywhere Service: slow but there was another server so not sure why only one was running around Fries: thin, under-cooked, limp, bland. Cut in-house I think Dips: ranch was green, thin, medicinal and blue cheese was thick and not very pleasant Chicken: my 4 mixed pieces were cooked to different levels. The thigh was flavoured with Indian flavours, but the wings were plain. The batter was just about crispy but bland, the chicken needed salt, wasn't particularly juicy and just tasted of the oil Service: detached, disinterested and bored even though there weren't many customers. Price: only saving grace, £8 for the meal and £2 extra for the drink due to the early bird deal so a fairly cheap meal. I'm glad I didn't pay full price. What a shame. read more

The chicken was so good!!!! We tried to stop in the shore ditch location, but they closed early. The Camden location is really great. The staff is super friendly and hospitable. The atmosphere is fun and lively with the paintings and the music playing. The chicken was sooo juicy and delicious, I was definitely satisfied. Stopped into Bird around 9:30pm on a Friday night. Decent crowd for that time of night, but was able to be seated right away. The menu was pretty nice, but maybe a tad bit expensive for what it is. I ordered the "Royele" which was essentially a Big Mac with fried chicken breast in place of the beef. For £7.50 it was an ok size, but that did not include any side at all. A bowl of fries was an additional £3.50 plus a small bottle of Coke brought my bill to £18.56! That's been my most expensive meal by far in London. And to be completely honest, it was no where near as good as a Chick-fil-A is back in the States. Oh well, you win some, you lose some... It was worth giving a shot. read more

I tried the Gee Gee burger (£9.50) which is made up of crispy fried chicken thigh burger with Korean gochujang glaze & kimchi slaw. I thought the combination of all the flavours worked well. I do favour chicken thigh over chicken breast as it is more moist. The reason why this burger took my fancy! Fried chicken, waffles & syrup (£11) is made of two pieces of fried chicken sitting on a waffle and served with maple syrup. I would had preferred this with bonesless chicken pieces and a grilled chicken instead of fried. The Original Waffle Burger (£14) is made of two boneless thighs, bacon, cheese, hot sauce and Candian maple between two waffles. This was much more filling than the burger. Some of us thought this was odd and did not think it work. I thought this was a bit too much and it a bit of an overload with too many ingredients. We ended dismantling the waffle burger. Cheesy Korean fries (£4.50) was fries topped with American cheese sauce, house kewpie mayo & gochujang glaze. Being free range chicken the texture was moist and succulent. But I felt Bird was a bit on the expensive side for fried chicken. Both chicken and waffle were over £10 with out sides which I thought was pricey. read more

Another American southern fried chicken restaurant. Best decision was getting the chicken pieces. No bones, so just great chicken. The honey and ginger glaze was amazing. It leaves a puddle in the dish you get it from so there is plenty more for dipping. Korean fries also good as was the donut. But chicken was the champion. read more
