Like before, I could see how the local folks would pick their favorite between the two but I cannot. Annie's has a different crust but equally tasty to Mary's. This chicken was juicy and delicious. I am glad that I was able to experience both offerings at the same time. Come out to Pittsburgh Kansas to support these restaurants!

If you dine there, read the back of the menu and you'll be educated. Secondly, if you drive by you'll likely see the place surrounded with cars and pickup trucks. That's usually a good sign. Our party of five waited about 15 minutes for a table at 5:30 pm. Not bad on a Saturday night. Seating is at mostly larger tables, and the entire place has a bit of a multi-room cafeteria feel. Comfortable, but a bit chopped up and crowded. They're not striving for romantic dinners. We started out with an order of their Onion Rings. Do not skip this step! And make it a large! You'll thank me for that tip. Ordering the chicken is a bit confusing, especially when your server tells you that the two thigh, one drumstick dinner is their white meat option (bless her, she said "This is my first week, I'm still learning the menu."). The chicken is very good - crispy, tender, and juicy. But don't expect large. These pieces must come from a five pound bird. The sides I ordered were their house coleslaw and potato salad. Both old German recipes. I'd recommend skipping these. The slaw was garlic heavy and sour and the potato salad had very little taste. It's not that they're wrong, just unexpected and not that good for my taste. But you may feel differently. Somehow these recipes have survived for decades! Overall, I rated Pichler's above average. It's an experience with good chicken, good service, great onion rings, and a damn interesting name!

We got in right at opening, and by the time that we left at 1230, it was looking pretty busy. We ordered and waited for a good 20 min before our meal came out. The ice they use is very crushed, almost a slush. Chicken is steaming hot and super fresh. Nice crunch. The batter seasoning is rather plain, but salted. Loved their green beans and coleslaw. The slaw was very vinegary and dryer. Not like the mayo doused slaw you may be used to. Service was excellent. We had a wonderful waitress who made sure our orders were accurate and that our drinks were full

Their meats are just okay in the pho and fried rice (I ordered beef), but for the amount of food you get. This place is definitely worth it! Didn't even know this place was around until we were told, and you can easily miss it. Inside - 4/5 - Inside is nice and very clean. Plenty of places to sit. You go past multiple seating areas to the back to order. Food - This can range from 5/5 to 1/5 depending on what you order. We ordered a little of everything off the entire menu. Anything with bread wasn't great. Which honestly isn't a slam at all. It's a bbq meat place. Reality is, sandwiches and things usually are not great at places like this. The specialty dogs and sandwiches were just kinda boring. They were messy, and the great meat flavors were ruined by boring basic bread. Almost all of the meats were AMAZING. Brisket, pork, hot links, and turkey were all fantastic. 5/5 for sure. You can't go wrong with any of these. Plus if you like baked potatoes, this is the place to go. It's at the very top of the menu. The only meat that was really bad was the Italian sausage. They were very very dry and no flavor. All of us took a bite or two, and we tossed the rest in the trash. Their Mac and cheese and their broccoli casserole were both great. We got the brisket jacked Mac, and it was fantastic. Summary - it's a bbq meat place. Stick with pure meat as much as you can for your main and stay away from all the pointless filler meals with bread and buns. Order yourself a lot of meat, some Mac and cheese, and maybe a spud. Can't go wrong. Service is super friendly, you can call in your orders, and they also do catering.

Another big issue I have is the way they change their prices and distribute their sauces. They went from serving two tortillas for a taco, to just one and then upped the price.
