For an on the fly decision I couldn't have stopped at a better place. Small staff that provided excellent service and the food my daughter is still talking about a week later. We ordered the sliders along with Steve's fries, and mac & cheese. Nothing disappointed, the chicken was cooked perfectly and the portions were generous. read more

I was looking for a good chicken sandwich place and found this place. I got the combo 1 in Hot and it was pretty good! I wouldn't really consider it hot though. If you're looking for something spicy maybe the extra hot would be better? I definitely would come again though! The fries are a 10/10. Service was fast and the outdoor seating was nice. read more

Shout out to Chick Next Door for the great food! I had to drive a bit for this one. But it was worth it. I'm back on a chicken sandwich craze and this time it was Chick Next Door. It's on the corner. I almost missed it. Great service. Not much of a wait. I looked through the window while I waited for the server to help me. And I saw the tenders in a tray. Not cool because I'd prefer my food fresh. But I guess they were just getting ready for the lunch crowd. I really rather give 3 and a half stars. But I know these ratings mean a lot. Although I didn't love it, I didn't dislike it. I got what I paid for. Prices are fair. I got the two slider and fries combo. The fries were really good. They have that batter on them that makes them thick and crispy. A lot like Popeyes. The breading on the tenders was really good and crunchy. Just not as hot and fresh. But no big deal. Their sauce was a bit spicy for me. But still good. I also got two churros for my friend and I. Both the dulce de leche and vanilla were good. No complaints here. But I won't be back. Too far and it wasn't as memorable. Still giving 4 stars because I enjoyed my food. Keep up the good work guys. read more

Chick Next Door - Two 2 Sliders Fries (Combo 2). Good stuff 8/10 - Chicken Shop Near Me - Glendale, California

Normally I came here to enjoy some decent spicy chicken.. but today's experience was lacking in so many ways... the don't chicken out spice was a joke... I've had medium spicy what been spicier than that and the fact I had to sign for it was silly... the inconsistency is frustrating cause I've had their don't chicken out and xspicy and it's a hit or miss... I asked for the churro to be madelater and it was on the receipt but the cook didn't want to so they had it done when my order was complete and they ended up cooking the wrong one... I didn't even want to go and talk to them about it cause they seemed like they wouldn't given a shit... the service was lazy and uncaring and it really made me feel like I wasted my money there... read more

While the food was great, the service wasn't. Last week, I came around at 11:10AM, which is when Google said they would be open, and the restaurant wasn't open. Okay, maybe they needed a few more minutes... 15 minutes later the cashier is still very slowly setting up all the tables and chairs. The employee saw people waiting and still moved at a snails pace. I was on my lunch and relied on the fact the place would be open at 11. So disappointed! read more

Found this place by accident and decided to give it a try. And it's now my favorite chicken sandwich place. The portion might be not big, it's a slider instead of a full-on sandwich, but the flavors are huge! And the fries are the most perfect fries known to man! It's not too salty, not too crispy (that it gets tough and sharp), with perfect crunch on the batter. The sauce that comes with it also gives a kick to it. Medium hot is the right one if you don't enjoy spicy food but wants a little heat. read more

Chick Next Door - 1 Slider Fries (Combo 1) - Chicken Shop Near Me - Glendale, California

This is one of my favorite hot chicken places in the area! I recently went here for the first time and was blown away by the flavor!

I was craving something and didn't know what it was.... This was it!!! My first time here and it was so much more than I was expecting. The MINI STEVES FRIES was big compared to what I had in my mind. I think you could split these. It's fries, Mac and cheese, and hot chicken on top! The flavors melded so well together. Who would've thought ;D I think I've found my new favorite spot. Can't wait to come back. Loooove it! read more

Food was Really Good!!! Friendly service and the vibe is chill nice place with music. I got the combo 1 with cole slaw and churos it was very very good read more

I was craving friend chicken after my appointment. I did a quick yelp and found this place just across the street! The guy was nice and let me get coleslaw instead of fries. I love coleslaw and like to try it when places have it. This coleslaw was not as creamy as I like, but it had a good flavor and fresh crunch. As for the chicken, it was nice and hot! It was juicy with a nice crispy coating. I think it's a hidden spot so not sure how much traffic they get, but next time I'm down here, I'm going again. read more

We were at a festival this weekend and chick next door was a vendor and THANK GOD THEY WERE. The chicken was so tender, the Mac and cheese fries were out of this world. The workers were very kind and we will definitely be going more often! Thank you for amazing food! read more

Food was good, came out hot and crispy. But the service was super slow. I kept seeing people come and go with orders. I came during my lunch hour and spend most of my time waiting for the food. Next time I will order ahead. Also they charge extra for any additional sauces. I ordered the medium spice level and it wasn't spicy enough for me. read more

I've been coming here for a while and the food's been good, but I always end up waiting really long, today for example I have a one hour lunch break from work and I decided to use that and go get myself some chicken, however I got there the person working I never got his name I waited 5 to 10 minutes just for him to take my order because he was busy talking to someone, besides that I waited 28 minutes for my actual food and when I proceeded to ask about if my order was ready he stated in a rude way that "you know there is other people before you" Look the food's good but I don't appreciate his workmanship. read more

Got the #1 Slider & Fries (extra hot) & Steve's fries (Hot). The CRUNCH. It was juicy inside & had the best crunch of all the chicken I've had. Seasoning was good & came with a tiny bun. Extra hot wasn't that intense if you're used to spicy food. Fries were crispy & tasty. Sauce is ok, didn't like it too much but the food was good without it (not sure what seasoning it was I didn't like). Steve's Fries were yummy & fun to eat; had nice flavor with soft Mac & cheese. Staff was ok. It's a cute small place located on the corner with about 10 tables outside in a bright yellow cute area. No bathroom or inside area. Prices are fair for the portions. The parking lot is pretty tiny, but there's parking available on the street too. I definitely going back for that crunch. read more

Food is delicious! I've been here a few times and service is great. The chicken here is fire.

Came across this spot while on road trip and decided to check it out, my partner and I were pleasantly surprised! There's only 2 people working as it's a small spot, and it wasn't too busy when we went, but from looking around you can tell they're well loved. We ordered the 2 sliders combo with fries and a side of mac and cheese (typical fast food soft stuff). The mac and cheese was fine, but the chicken was very good! This is one of those sandwiches that you wish wasn't just a slider, the mini brioche bun with the fresh crispy chicken and the combo of whatever the sauce is, delicious! If I happen to come across chick next door again I'll definitely stop! read more

Great place. Right where I used to live so I went there on occasion to get food. Fried chicken was good and the sauce had a nice kick. Small place but nice their logo is cute. Definitely a spot to got late at night. Guy gave me extra fries when I left a tip. So sad I don't live here anymore. read more

i've ordered this food place from Uber Eats multiple times sometimes they give me a good amount of food for the $18 that it cost other times they give me a very little amount. this time I ordered the Steve mini fries and they gave me a very little proportion and then I wasn't able to get a refund I think for the amount of money that it cost they should at least make the box a little heavier. It should at least live up to the picture they post. read more

Spice level is exactly what they say it is on the scale. I normally go for hot but the extra hot was really good mixed with fries. We've gone here a few times and will continue. I'll be honest, I'm not crazy about the coleslaw, but the ingredient seems simple and clean. The service is great, you're treated as if you were a friend. They're very friendly, and helpful if you can't seem to decide what to order. There is plenty of outdoor seating. It's very bright it'll definitely attract your attention with the bright yellow. read more

Hands down the best chicken sliders I've had! In need of comfort food? This is your spot. I took the first bite of my chicken slider and instantly knew I'd be returning to this place. The sliders, sauces, and fries are all so tasty and satisfying. Highly recommend the seasonal lemonade, too. I've tried the watermelon lemonade and the mango lemonade, both very refreshing. The staff is kind and the service is fast. They have a seating area, but note that it's in an open area, so be sure to bundle up if it's a cold, winter day. read more

Honestly I think this is my new favorite place. The cashier, Jordan Mahler deserves a raise he works so hard. And he's very attractive might I add. And the foods pretty good, I can taste the passion from the workers read more

I had been very much dying to try this place after following them on Instagram for so long. Their food looked so good. So, I drove myself out there and it didn't take too long to get there. The food itself is DELIIICIOUSSSS. I am so glad I did drive out there to get it. Even though I took it to go, it still held really well. I ordered a half order of Steve's Fries and it was a perfect serving size for one person. It was definitely filling. I got the chicken seasoned as medium and I thought it was really nice. Next time, I would probably experiment by doing a hotter flavor. The restaurant itself--the physical building--is very cute once you walk past the almost jail-like bars separating it from the street (not an insult, I just don't know how else to describe them). The space is basically an enclosed patio...it's not really like you are walking into a building. They do have heaters for outside-- though they were not in use while I was there. Keep that in mind if you go on a colder night or if it is windy, rainy, etc. and bring a coat. You order from a window facing the street, then walk "inside" to wait for/pick up/eat your food. I subtracted a star solely because they don't have a bathroom--at all. I already had to use the bathroom when I got there and I knew it would only get worse once I started eating and drinking, so I had to take my food to go rather than staying there and eating. But it still held really nice. Next time you're in the mood for some quality hot chicken, make sure that you give chick next door a try! It was so delicious and hit me right in my soul. I will definitely be back! read more

This is my to go chicken sandwich spot, always get extra chick sauce. And they're open late.

I opted for the country version of the chicken tenders and fries with an additional cost for cheese. The coating was was not flavorful, nor was the chicken. I had to use the provided sauce to add any flavor to meal. I'm not going too completely disregard this new spot by our home, I'll just venture out next time on the menu. Covid related - mostly the Glendalerians where not wearing mask when ordering and a few kitchen crew mask where not being worn properly. I had a perfect view into the kitchen so definitely a bit concerning. *The free yelp check in strawberry lemonade has an infusion with cucumber. Chick Next Door - To go it is - Chicken Shop Near Me - Glendale, California

10 minutes to closing they were nice enough to do one last order. Great and sociable staff, clean kitchen, and quick processing. Chicken tenders: The batter is GREAT!! Lots of crunch, doesn't fall off and traps a lot of moisture inside the meat. Probably the first fried chicken place that doesn't just pour tons of salt in their food. Moderate salt can enhance flavors, but too much salt can also be used to cover quality of ingredients and taste. Got them extra hot. The heat isn't really much, it's more of a tingling on your tongue, but not burning hot. Heat is relative so don't rely on the review of a random guy on Yelp Fries: The fries seasoning was pretty good. It's not crunchy, it's very meaty. It got soggy after 15 minutes in the closed box, but that was expected, surprised the chicken stayed crispy and crunchy. Special sauce: Garlicky and Smokey spicy chipotle sauce is what it tasted like. read more

Oh Chick ... Your combo meal is weird and gross and utterly perfect. I am not generally a fan of "stuff on top of fries" and somehow expected my order to be a combo. When I got home and looked in the box I was horrified ... until I tasted it. Holy cow ... errr ... chicken. My flexitarian side WANTS to be full time vegan but I happened to be next door getting my dog groomed and it just smelled SO GOOD. I had a single hot tender then circled back to order for my teenager who doesn't like her food to touched. We demolished this and vow to eat it there next time because if it's this good 20 minutes later IMAGINE fresh. Looks like I found the perfect dog groomer - err ... "fast food" place. You have to tasted it to believe it. Country is the best "regular" fried chicken and "hot" is perfectly hot without blanking your tastebuds. Their secret sauce is tangy and spicy and made fresh daily. Their lemonade is "real". Full disclosure ... they gave me a sample before I ordered as I was on the fence. Good move guys, you gained a household. My solo complaint is that I would like a non sweetened ice tea with my meal but water will do for chicken like this. read more

Amazing amazing chicken sandwich and fries!!! I said it was amazing right?! I got the extra spicy chicken sandwich and it sure was spicy juicy Delicious!!!! Was craving for a hot chicken sandwich and came across this place. I ordered the Chicken sandwich and was surprised by how crispy and juicy the chicken was. Served with the fries, this meal was *chef's kiss*. They offer a few combos and you can adjust the spiciness of your sandwich. Country, Mild, Medium, Hot, Extra Hot, and Don't chicken out. I decided to play it safe and stick with the medium. If you're not really feeling a chicken sandwich, well they have Steve's fries. The fries come with Mac n cheese, sauce, and chicken tender. A good option if I say so myself. LITTLE YELPERS CLUB: They offer sides if the little ones I not up for a sandwich. Combo 2 also comes with 2 sliders if they don't want to share. For the chicken tender connoisseurs, they also have a tender combo. Lastly, they have churros. I need to come back and try it because I was too stuffed to order it last time. read more
