Found this gem on Yelp and decided to give it a try after reading the menu and reviews. SO glad we…read moredid! It's off the beaten path which is nice because we were able to find parking. We were greeted as soon as we walked in and directed to choose a table of our preference. The waitress quickly came over and grabbed our drink order while we looked at the menu. We placed our order and the waitress was very knowledgeable and able to answer our questions. She also informed us they work as a team so we can stop anyone when/if we need something. We started with the "Burning Bush" appetizer (crispy Brussel sprouts w/ lemon garlic aioli). YUM! They had just the right bite to them, and the glaze on them paired with the aioli was delicious! For our entrees we had the Golden Calf Burger w/ sweet potato fries and sriracha aioli and The Weight of Glory Sandwich w/ broccoli slaw. They were both incredibly flavorful and fresh! You can tell they locally source their ingredients and prepare them onsite. The portions are also plentiful, and we left with a takeout box. To round off lunch we tried the special mousse on the specials board (coffee flavored cheesecake mousse). It was so delightful we dug in before I could snap a pic. Just enough coffee flavor paired with chocolate sauce (not hersheys ). The big windows allow for a lot of natural light and lends to a welcoming and warm environment. We will for sure be back and bring others!

I especially enjoyed how the herbed goat cheese mixed with the lemon aioli (aioli is garlic mayo so the garlic is redundant in the menu) and beef patty. That combo was deadly to me, oof Some nice cold coleslaw to compliment the hot burger was a nice mix. I still haven't forgotten how heavy their tomato soup is! So packed with flavor omg. Friendly + quick staff as always and gorgeous wooden seating.

Had lunch today (9/13) at Milo in Waco. Disappointed. What has normally been good food and good…read moreservice, today the service and food were disappointing. Had Steak & Frites and asked for my waitress to have the steak cooked medium. It was brought to me rare. They put us at a corner table literally 8 feet from the kitchen which was very noisy and hard for my wife and I to have a conversation. Waitress, service and food were all unacceptable. Will not be going back! For as much as they charge for lunch or dinner, you would expect better quality food and service. My wife had the Tomato and Peach salad and she complained that the salad had too much pink peppercorns.

Sorryhardto call it a classic gastropub. On another level, it's sort of a new American cafe, and in this particular vein of thinking, it certainly hits a lot of the high notes. The food is well-selected, with a smattering of farm-to-table plates, various proteins, and the classic pub selection of small bites. I really like the outdoor patio. The swamp coolers help to make the area hospitable even in the middle of the summer. I sat outside by myself, not too far from one of those blasting humidifiers, and enjoyed a nice cold beer and a delicious burger. My server was incredibly kind and very attentive. I think, in the long run, what I would most consider Milo to be is a restaurant that has a bar, that serves primarily farm-to-table delicious food. Yeah, that-seems to sum-it all-up. Oh, and the service is excellent.

We recently started a healthy eating regimen and wanted Greek. We followed Yelp to Alpha Omega near…read moredowntown Waco. We got there shortly after they opened at 11:00 due to advise on Yelp to beat the lunch crowd. There were 3 police cars parked and we assumed they were eating there as well. They were ! The food is all freshly made and delicious. I got the chicken Gyro , hubby got the beef Gyro and we both got Greek salads. Very well seasoned and fresh with great sauce. Salads were fresh with tangy Feta and great veggies. Before we left the place was filling up with locals and Baylor students. So glad we came and we will be back

I wanted to really like this place but I think it's a miss for me. I went and dined in last week…read moreand ordered a lamb gyro. The pita had good flavor but the lamb tasted more like birria taco meat versus Greek food. The pita was also very soft and didn't hold up well. Fast forward to this evening's attempt. I ordered a chicken gyro, feta fries and a piece of baklava. My fries were literally burnt fries with shredded feta and pretty inedible. The baklava top layer was fine but the bottom layer of the phyllo was burnt, but overall soggy. The most disappointing was the gyro. It was filled with old onions that smelled as soon as I opened the box. I attempted to take them all off and salvage it with tzatziki sauce but after one bite the old onion flavor completely ruined the entire thing. So there went $20. I think this place has some potential and maybe in the future I'll try again, but buying food to literally throw it away was not on the agenda I will say the two stars are due to the two young ladies who assisted me at the restaurant. They were very polite during the ordering process.
